After Buf hands her the pack of cards, Yvaine opens it and takes the cards out, finding the tiny Randomizer and interference filed generator in a little pouch on the side of the pack and setting them up before shuffling the cards themselves as Buf starts answering her questions. Yvaine is pleased to find that Buf doesn't talk down to her like some adults tend to do, his answers not only complete and devoid of any attempts to put his thoughts into little words or simple declarative statements that would rob them of their complexity and dull the insight they offer.
Taking her cards, a Commander of Sabers with a value of 12 and an Endurance with a value of - 8 that gives her a total of 4, Yvaine manages not to let her displeasure show as she contemplates how to play the hand when Buf chooses to keep both his cards, suggesting he was more fortunate than she was, while listening intently to what he is saying all the while.
While still debating whether to just draw a card or trade the Endurance for a new one, Yvaine puts her Commander of Sabers in the interference field, face up since that is the trade off for using the field to keep it safe from being shifted if the Randomizer pulses during their current hand and says, "I think you're right about the entities probably being powerful Force users that had their histories and identities forged into the myths of The Ones and the like, shrugging as she admits her personal bias, I find it easier to believe that than to believe there really is a Bogan or Ashla and all the others anyway."
Deciding to trade the Endurance, Yvaine sets it down and ends her turn by drawing a new card from the deck, getting a Queen of Air and Darkness with a value of -2 and bringing her hand to a new total of 10 as she smiles and tells Buf, "You're explanation of how Clans and Houses work really helps me make sense of it all, thanks!" Using her family as an example had made the matter seem much simpler than Yvaine had thought it could be, but since the subject reminds her of another topic about Mandalorian society that has always interested her, she is about to start asking questions again when the sound of the crowd watching the bolo-ball game cheering causes her to turn around to see what is happening, giving Buf the rare opportunity to be the one to ask a question or two of his own.

As far as Mandalorian culture was concerned, the Princess was on the verge of, if not past, the age at which one could undertake the Verd'goten. Once passed, a young Mandalorian was an adult and some even became Clan Leaders at that age. Thus he saw no reason not to treat the Princess similarly. Royal families had been known to have Kings or Queens at similar such young ages. His focus shifted to his hand as he considered what his next move would be Sometimes we prefer to exclude the existence of deities for convenience... Such things can challenge our decisions and choices in uncomfortable ways... With the Princesses turn taken, he reviewed the 4 of Flasks and 4 of Coins that made up his hand at present. He discard the 4 of Coins and drew a Demise, putting him at - 9. Not an ideal hand, but he was happy to leave it for now, there was every chance the randomiser could give him a better hand. His attention also shifted to the bolo-ball game as the crowd cheered You've got quite the curious mind... I hear some of your siblings are also Force Sensitive akin to myself. Does the same extend to yourself? Or do you have no particular interest where that is concerned?

Yvaine - still listening to Buf as she turns towards the field in time to see her Mum front-on-shoulder tackled by Ime while simultaneously smother tackled by Ige, causing her to fall to the ground, allowing Ife to gain possession of the bolo-ball when the tiny young Mandalorian nimbly steps over the Empress and her sisters and wrests the bolo-ball from her fingers before racing on towards the opposing team's goal - winces in sympathy for her Mum’s plight and returns her attention to her cards and Buf.
As she purses her lips in concentration while debating how to manage her next turn, Yvaine asks Buf, "Do you think it is convenience, or a matter of what one is raised and taught to believe that makes some exclude the possibilities of deities existing? If, for example, I had been born on Dathomir into a Dathomiri Clan like Mavera, I imagine I would see things quite differently than I do. Does that make one set of beliefs more . . . correct or true than the other? Certainly not, but it does make me think that you have a valid point when you say that individuals can be mythologized into deities, just as I think I had a point when noting the tendency to anthropomorphize and deify concepts we don't understand fully, and perhaps never will come to understand completely. Bobbling her head indecisively, she asks rhetorically, Do those things preclude the existence of deities or entities that embody forces we don't understand? Not necessarily."
Deciding to risk drawing another card, Yvaine picks up a card and sees that she has drawn the 10 of Coins, bringing her hand to a total of 20, not reacting visibly to the result of her draw as she answers Buf's question about her Force Sensitivity, "It does, yes. My siblings and I are all Force sensitive, and have trained with the Imperial Knights or. . . other Force sensitive groups in some instances. Tilting her head to the side as she considers how to reply to the second part of his question, Yvaine says after a pause, I found it more interesting when I was younger, when I wanted to be an Imperial Knight like my Mum. I felt . . . special, I guess, to have been born with the ability to use the Force, and wanted, you know, to be a hero of the Empire like my parents both are. But, she frowns, wondering idly if she is revealing some flaw in her character that would be better left unvoiced, then decides to trust Buf with something she has not shared with many others, the way he has spoken to her so openly inviting her to do the same, I eventually found that there didn't seem to be anything special about it at all, really, other than the obvious things like being able to move faster or telekinetically move things. There wasn't, she bites her lower lip as she tries to find the words to express how she felt let down when using the Force never moved her, never made her feel more connected to the universe, and says, any sense of having been given the abilities for any reason other than the one I was told, which was to serve the Emperor, which I felt . . . feel drawn to do in other ways. Through science maybe, using things I learn or come to to understand in new ways. Smiling, she gestures with her free hand towards Buf as she says, It wasn't for me what being a chef has come to be to you, you know? I feel like I still need to learn what my version of being a chef will be."

He raised an eyebrow behind his mask as Yvaine posed her question before going into some rhetorical questions before finally launching into a conclusion. He inclined his head, impressed by the well thought out argument Each situation is different, sometimes it is one or the other... other times it can be a combination of the two. But such things are all factors in the beliefs people form one way or the other, for good or bad. In the end, it doesn't particularly matter whether you believe in them or not, so long as you are not using a faith, or lack thereof, to justify actions that hurt others... He considered his cards as the Princess finished her turn. Deciding to draw a card gave him Endurance, bringing his count to -17. At this stage, his next move would be to try purge his hand of Endurance, since there remained few other cards with negative values that he could use to try get to -23. A draw would also not be in his favour. He had to hope he hit -23 and that Yvaine was not also doing the same and that her hand ended up being lower than his own I won't proclaim to be well verse in the beliefs of the Imperial Knights, but their ideals are fairly utilitarian. Not particularly ideal for someone looking and hoping for something deeper. Perhaps one path forward to consider, is exploring the teachings and beliefs of other orders beyond the Imperial Knights? What you are looking for may yet come from a place you least expect it... He glanced up from his cards to look at the Princess There is nothing wrong with still being on your search for your version of being a chef. My own path here took its own journey, so too will yours take you on a journey. Never be afraid to question the what and why of things, and be open to trying new and different experiences. It is the best way to find where your passion lays.

Yvaine smiles with an arched eyebrow when Buf concludes his advice to her about ways she might come to learn what her path is by, in part, telling her to not be afraid to question whats and whys, fairly certain that she has those skills down to a science, nodding in enthusiastic agreement to the last part about not being afraid to try new things, telling him, "Ah, well then, I am quite confident that I shall find out what my being a chef is sooner or later," as she feels that she is not closed off to new experiences or points of view; if anything, her insatiable curiosity can lead her, at times, to gorge herself on as much knowledge as she can acquire, especially when her interest is piqued, and enjoys discussions such as the one she and Buf are having now.
Debating what to do with her cards, wondering if she should call the hand and hope that her total of 20 is higher than Buf's, Yvaine says, "Utilitarian is a pretty accurate description of how the Imperial Knights view the Force, actually. To them it is just a tool, or skill, nothing more. Shrugging as there really is nothing more to say on the subject that would, in her mind, be worth exploring, Yvaine goes on, I do like learning about how other groups view the Force, which is probably not at all surprising given how she had been so keen on learning about the Mandalorian Knights, and know a bit about the Jedi's Code and some about the Sith, Knights of Ren and so on, but, she waves her free hand around searchingly, none of their views, which veer into the mystical entity guiding them camp more often than not when it comes right down to it, really spoke to me either. The Jedi tend to err on the side of caution where the more Dark Side aligned groups typically find their philosophies, in the end, justify the violence and chaos they use or foster to achieve their ends. Looking up from her cards, Yvaine tells Buf in a tone full of conviction, I definitely agree with your perspective about not using one's beliefs as an excuse to cause harm," and then groans as, just as she was about to call the hand and take her chances with the 20, a Sabaac Shift occurs when the Randomizer pulses and her cards begin flickering to their new values.
"Let's hope that doesn't happen again," Yvaine moans as she looks at the Ace, with a value of 15, and the Demise with a value of -13 her cards have shifted to, which, with the Commander of Sabers with a value of 12 having been protected by the interference field, makes her new hand come to a total of 14, which she estimates is a bit too low to follow through with her original plan to call the hand, and draws a new card, the 1 of Flasks, which brings her to 15 and ends her turn.

Just don't be in too much of a rush to find it, or you may miss the right path and end up upon a false one... There was indeed little more of actual value he could add to the Princesses musings about the various Orders she had looked into so far and how she viewed them. Something which sparked an interesting thought for him, but was almost as quickly put on hold when the Shift occurred and his hand back a trio of 3's from the Sabers, Staves, and Coins suits. He let out a groan of his own as he assessed the situation before tapping the play surface Call... He laid out his total of 9, even though he was pretty confident he had lost. With a hand like his, he'd have too much work to do before getting a good enough count. Sacrifice one round in hopes of a better hand next time And what of the individual practitioners within those Orders? Do you think they all wholly subscribe to every principle taught by the Orders which they owe allegiance to? Do you believe all whom choose a path within the dark have their own selfish goals and ends to which they work? Or are they perhaps merely seduced towards such selfish endeavours? conversely, are all Jedi and those whom follow a path of light so cautious and peaceful?

"Good advice, Yvaine tells Buf cheerily when he advises her to take her time in finding what it is that she wants to do with her life, then sighs as she says, Sometimes I am a little jealous of my older siblings, explaining, while they had their paths decided and laid out before them from before they were even born, at least they don't have to worry about finding out what it is or what they are meant to do, and don't have to worry about missing their path or heading down the wrong one. Sometimes, she tilts her head to the side while trying to find the right words to express how she feels, it is like I'm in a tree with all these fruits that are possible futures I might choose within reach on the branches around me, but any time I pick one some of the others fall off and I can only pick a few to try out before all of the others on the branches all fall and I am left with whatever the last one I grabbed was, which might or not be the one I was meant to choose, then crinkles her freckled nose and says, which is really kind of exactly what you said, isn't it?"
When Buf calls and lays out his hand, Yvaine frowns apologetically as she reveals her own, the 15 beating his 9, and says cheerily, "Oh well, there is always the next hand, right? You can shuffle and deal, she says, picking up their cards and handing them to Buf as she answers his question for her by wagging her finger playfully as she tells him, Oh, nice try but I'm not falling for that trap, it is never wise to say all of anything fits neatly into one box, is it? I'm sure that some Dark Side groups or individual practitioners believe their aims come from an unselfish place, like culling the weak so only the strong survive or inciting chaos for the same reason, like they are some crucible that will forge those that survive their machinations emerge from it stronger or wiser. Just as some Light Side groups or individuals believe they can fight against the Dark with the same ferocity and ruthlessness of those they fight without courting the risk they become what they fight or fall from the Light in their attempts to preserve it, just as some are more inclined to act than sit back and wait. And, she shrugs, I imagine that just as every Mandalorian has their own individual interpretation of what the Resol'nare means or how literally it should be taken, every Jedi or Sith, when it comes down to it, has their own take on what their Codes mean or require them to do in order to live up to it too. That being said, she shrugs one last time, I think generalizations have their use, so long as one accepts their limitations and doesn't base their decisions solely on them."
Picking up the first two cards Buf deals her, Yvaine shuffles the 6 of Sabers and The Star with it's value of -17 around in her hand while debating what to do as she asks Buf, "Have you had many experiences with Jedi, Sith or other Force Orders yourself?" Deciding to take a risk at getting a Pure Sabacc, Yvaine drops the 6 of Sabers and picks up another card, the 3 of Staves, which brings her total to -14 and ends her turn.

He raised his eyebrow behind his visored mask A curious thing to be jealous of... Who are you to say that the paths they are, that were selected for them, are indeed the right paths for them? For all we know, they could in fact be treading down the wrong path, but have been stuck upon it by the predetermined choices made for them. Or perhaps they are indeed upon the right path, but what use is it, if they've never had the chance to discover it for themselves? Yu, on the other hand, get to experience that journey and figure out for yourself what you like and what works best for you. Just don't get too caught up in the fear of missing out. Just because paths or destinations seemed closed off, does not mean they are lost and gone forever... He was not particularly surprised then, when the cards were down and the Princesses hand totalled to 15, beating his 9 Sometimes it is best to concede a battle, in efforts of winning the war... He collected the cards and activated some controls on the randomizer to note the round change. He shuffled the deck as the Princess tried to address his question It is certainly unwise to make such a sweeping statement. Curiously, though, you still make some interesting generalizations despite admitting that they can be very flawed and have their own limitations. So I have to wonder then, do you believe your sister, a Knight of Ren, a user of the Dark Side, is merely only about culling the weak or inciting chaos all in the pursuit of ensuring only the strong few survive? He dealt the first pair of cards out and lifted his hand up, peering over the top of them whilst giving his buy'ce a quick tap My own small corner of the family is a good example of having a unique interpretation of the Resol'nare for sure. Just the same, Lightsiders can do evil, just as Darksiders can also do good. Examining his cards, he found he had a Commander of Coins and a 6 of Flasks, bringing him to 18. He looked back to the Princess then I've had a little bit of experience here and there through my old training and more recently travelling as a Chef. It has certainly given me a lot of perspective on different groups and the different motivations people harbour an how they seek answers and solutions based on the situations they find themselves within... He drew a card, the 2 of Flasks, pushing him perilously close to 23

Yvaine crinkles her nose when Buf says that being jealous of her eldest siblings is not necessarily something she should be envious of, reminding him, "Well, I did say that it was only sometimes, and then explaining her feelings on the subject a bit more than she had, Even if it would mean giving up the chance to figure out whether it was the right thing for me, and not knowing what I might be missing out on, there would be a certain kind of comfort in not having the uncertainty that comes from wondering those very same things that comes from having to figure out what I want to do, but, she shrugs and picks up another card when Buf's turn has ended, not looking at it at first, on the whole I'm glad that I get to figure out what I want to do, uncertainty and all."
Looking at her card and seeing that she drew The Evil One, with a value of -15 that brings her hand to the potentially disastrous total of -29 and ends her turn. Keeping her face from revealing that all Buf would need to do to win at this point is call the hand, Yvaine addresses his point about her having used generalizations when trying to speak of their inherent flaws, "Hmm. . . I guess I did kind of generalize, didn't I, her expression suggesting she is a bit disappointed in herself as she says, It is hard to avoid them sometimes, and then furrows her brows as she considers how to reply to his question about her sister, pausing before saying in a somewhat sad tone, I was very little when she left to train with the Ren, so can't really say that I knew her well enough to say that I've seen any changes in her which suggest how being trained to use the Dark Side has affected her. I don't want to think that she has become, like you said, all about culling and chaos, and know what my father believes about being able to utilize the Knights of Ren for good despite their beliefs, which, honestly I can't say I know a great deal about other than they stand for order and despise the Sith, but. . . she nibbles the corner of her lower lip, uncertain about sharing her thoughts with Buf even though she feels comfortable doing so after all they have shared so far, worried that she is somehow betraying her sister in sharing what she feels, then after deciding that she trusts Buf enough, tells him, I do worry that she could become those things, you know? The more one uses the Dark Side, at least as I understand it, the more it becomes a part of them, or gets a hold on them, and . . . she hesitates again before expressing her greatest fear, the more it changes them, seldom for the better. I love my sister, Yvaine says, staring into the blank, expressionless t-visor that prevents her from seeing Buf’s reactions to what she shares with him and leaves only his words and what remains of his tone of voice after being filtered through his helmet's speaker, I do, but sometimes it scares me to think of what she might become."
Sighing and looking at her cards without seeing them, Yvaine goes on quickly after voicing her fears for her sister, as though to keep herself from dwelling on it any longer or to free Buf from what he might perceive as the burden of needing to think of something to say that might comfort her even though she cannot imagine that anything could, asking him as she finds herself wanting to believe that what he said about Darksiders being capable of doing good despite her own doubts about it being possible, "What, um, what kinds of motivations and solutions to problems have you encountered in your travels as a chef? And what different kinds of Force users have you met?"

There is a certain kind of comfort some take from things being pre-determined. It is certainly an easy path to wish to be upon, knowing everything has been planned out before you, and you have only but to follow that plan and path... He discarded the 6 of Flasks and drew a new card, much like the Princess, he did not initially study it. Instead he was far more interested in the response she gave regarding his question about her Sister amongst the Ren. He set his cards down and leaned forward, His gloved hands taking hers gently There is an inherent danger no matter what aspect of the Force one uses. It takes our most powerful traits and amplifies them. The more we feed it the stronger it becomes, for good or ill. There is nothing wrong with worrying about family, for it is the most powerful bond of all. Our entire culture is based upon that immutable fact... He unclasped her hands and leaned back to collect his cards again, still leaving them unreviewed The Dark Side does certainly have a more powerful corrupting effect, and can more quickly twist its users to horrific deeds. But such is true of the Light as well, it is just much less often given the same concern. But alas, it is a danger inherit in the Force regardless of one's alignment. But hope is something you should always keep in your heart, for your Sister and your Brother. Some actions cannot go unpunished, however you can almost always pull them back even if they have gone over the edge... Finally checking his cards, he found he had drawn the 4 of Coins. His attention now turned to the question that the Princess had asked Fallanassi, Witches of Dathomir, Guardians of the Whills, members of the Order of Dai Bendu, Kilian Rangers, Baran Do, and so many more... Even had a few run ins with the Blackguard and the Sorcerers of Rhand... or maybe it was the Sorcerers of Tund... or maybe both? Certainly such groups tend to, for the most part, fall into the generalizations we all tend to have. However, I once stumbled across an Echani woman... Claimed to be a member of the Sith Conclave, but she was unlike any Sith I'd met before. Seemed far more interested in collecting and preserving artefacts from the past than conquering and ruling an Empire of her own. I also once saw a man who claimed to be a Jedi murder a group of prisoners captured on Kashyyyk all in the name of the Light and the idea that they were irredeemable...

Smiling in gratitude as Buf comforts her by taking hold of her hands for a moment, Yvaine sniffs after he has shared his thoughts with her about the dangers inherent in simply being a Force Sensitive no matter what one's alignment might be, and reassuring her that there is no shame in worrying for her sister because of her affiliation and allegiance to the Knights of Ren given the bonds between family members. Some of the thoughts Buf shares about the way the Force amplifies one's strongest traits, and the corrupting influence of the Dark Side are things she has contemplated on her own before, but hearing someone older and more experienced than she is offers her great comfort, and his urging her not to give up hope as there is always the possibility that one who has fallen into darkness can rise back up into the light does not fall on deaf ears; the thought a comforting one even though she knows, if only on an intellectual level, that rising after a fall would be no easy task.
When Buf's turn has ended, Yvaine is so interested in his descriptions of the different Force sensitive individuals or groups he has encountered throughout his travels as a chef that she doesn't immediately return her attention to the game, instead admitting with smile, "I'm so jealous, I haven't even heard of some of those groups, and have only read about the others. Maybe, she jokes in an obvious attempt at humor rather than one suggesting any disregard for Buf's career, my path is to become your chef's apprentice and join you on your travels, that would be so cool, wouldn't it?!" Sighing as she returns her attention to her cards, thinking that as fun as it would be to be a chef's apprentice, it is not likely her Mother and Father would find it anything other than a whimsical choice better denied, and they would probably not be wrong; whatever her path may be, Yvaine suspects it will be more likely to involve the sciences she is so passionately interested in than anything else, which does not mean she cannot enjoy entertaining the thought of the adventures she and Buf could have, if only for a little while.
Discarding The Evil One, returning her hand to a total of -14, Yvaine draws another card as, deciding to ask something more fun than the more serious topics they have discussed, she asks, "What is your favorite dish to make? Do you only know how to cook Mandalorian dishes, or do you know how to prepare foods from other cultures too?" Looking at the card she has drawn, Yvaine unconsciously arches an eyebrow in a less than pleased way as sees that she has, amusingly, drawn the second of the decks two The Evil Ones, bringing her back to the total of -29 and ending her turn right where it began.

It had been longer than intended. But when the pair had gotten the chance to run wild and free, they did. The duo had caught a pair of wild Agamarian beasts. One of the beasts now rested on Dawntree's back, a tribute, of sorts, to Mavera's charges and their hosts. The second had found its way into Dawntree's stomach. Since her usual perch was taken up by the body of a large reptile, the witch walked along beside her partner as they returned to the Mandalorian camp.

Ige, one of the triplets Yvaine is friends with who has a tendency to let her mind wander when not actively participating in an attack with her sisters, shades her eyes from the sun as she sees Mavera and Dawntree returning to the small Mando'ade base after what looks to have been a successful hunt, telling no one in particular given that no one is paying attention to her since the First Order's Empress is currently charging down the field, "Hey, that Rancor riding lady is back! Not hearing her sisters as they call out to her to try and stop the Empress as she is too focused on waving to the Rancor rider and then looking around at what else is going on around the base, Ige sees Yvaine and Buf talking together - well, the Princess is talking anyway since she can't see whether or not Buf is given that his face is concealed as it always is beneath his buy'ce - and chuckles as she shakes her head and wonders aloud as the Empress passes by behind her back, Does she ever stop talking?"
Ife, one of Ige's currently annoyed sisters, smacks her upside the head as she runs past her while chasing after the Empress, chiding her, "Kov'nyn o'r te geroya di'kut!" *
Rubbing the back of her head as she starts running after her sisters as they run after the Empress, who athletically dodges around her son as he tries to stop her attack, Ige mutters, "Ouch," and lowers her head as she puts on as much speed as she can.
Fionnuala, crouched down in the goal she protects, grins as, seeing the Empress getting closer and closer to the goal, she decides to be bold and, breaking into a run, dropping to the ground as she reaches the momentarily surprised Empress and extends her left leg to perform a slide tackle that knocks the Empress off her feet and causes her to lose possession of the bolo-ball. Smirking triumphantly as she gets up and helps the Empress get back on her feet, the diminutive dreadlocked Morganian says, "That was a really nice attack, Empress. Playfully poking out her pierced tongue, she cheerfully adds, Better luck next time!"
* Head in the game idiot!

He let out a distorted mechanised chuckle as the Princess suggested that perhaps her path was to become his apprentice It could certainly be fun, though I suspect your Mother and Fionnuala might actually hurt me if we suggested the idea... There was also the fact that if she came to any harm what so ever, he'd not live long enough to explain himself or try rectify the matter. His focus was then turned to the matter of cooking, dispelling any thoughts about his potential imminent demise, as he considered Yvaine's question My favourite dish... Well, it's not on the menu. But Yulant breeds a special species of Shaak that produce a particularly high quality meat. To have a Yulant Steak is a luxury few can afford regularly. But their low quality cuts have a perfect mix of meat and fat which, when turn into amazing Burger Patty's. I once discovered that making a steak house patty, smoking it for about an hour, then transferring it to a skillet and searing it quickly, then basting it in butter, garlic, and thyme. After that, you wrap it in some fry dough and deep fry it until golden brown. Slice it open and add your toppings and... Perfection... He mentally made a note to invest in a smoker to add to The Skid Lid Sizzler, which he'd be able to afford thanks to the pay he was going to make off this job. He'd have to make note to visit the Princess and show her the dish one day Oh, my menu is definitely not Mandalorian Cuisine by any means. It's a combination of several different cultures. In my studies, I travelled to a number of different Master Chef's, all of them with much greater skill than me in the dish they perfected or the Culture they represented. The dishes I make are merely my attempt to bring a slice of my journey to people looking for a quick meal. I hope to keep expanding that menu as I can afford the equipment I need and expand to bigger and better things. There remain a few dishes I make which I have yet to add in... His focus drifted away from the game as he noticed he return of the Witch and her Rancor. Of the two, the Witch would likely still need some food even if her Rancor partner had eaten already. He turned his gaze back to Yvaine Call... Whether he won or lost was of little concern in this scenario, since he would need to be free to cook for their additional guest

Giggling when Buf says her Mum and Fionnuala would both probably do him great harm were they to propose he take her on as his chef's apprentice, Yvaine bobbles her head from side to side as though agreeing that he is probably right.
After Buf has described his favorite dish, Yvaine sets her cards down and laces her arms over her stomach as though in the throes of hunger pangs as she groans and says enthusiastically, "That sounds soooooo gooooooodddd!!! I want one, like, right now! Smiling as she listens to Buf go on to explain that his menu does not just consist of Mandalorian cuisine but also includes dishes from other cultures, Yvaine tells him, That sounds awesome! Will you be here tomorrow and the next day? If so, she grins and points at him, you have gotta make me your favorite dish and some things from those other cultures you learned dishes from too, so I can get a slice of your journey like you said!"
Making a theatrically apprehensive face when Buf calls, Yvaine makes a falling bomb sound as she lays her cards down face up, adding an explosion sound as her -29 is revealed, telling him verbally in case the sound effects and cards were not enough clue, "I bombed out! Big Time!"

The pair of successful hunters, now back in camp, find a place to deposit the reptilian carcass. Mavera finds a clear spot by what appears to be the mess, and instructs Dawntree to please put it there. The Rancor obliges, but she seems less interested in cooperating as Mavera attempts to clean her teeth and mouth of blood and remains from the other beast. Hold still, Dawn. We have to look presentable for our hosts! The Witches stern tone seems to have the desired effect and Dawntree settles in for her least favorite time of the day. Out of the corner of her eye, Mavera watches the Empress play a game with the Mandalorians. Eventually, mostly due to the low whining coming from the great big cry baby of a warmount, she gives up on getting Dawntree clean right now and instead sits down next to her friend to watch the sport unfolding before her.

He started packing the cards away as he swept his gaze across his kitchen setup Well, Fionnuala did say I could procure any equipment or supplies I wanted... So I suppose acquiring a smoker would count within that mandate... As for whether I'll be here tomorrow and the day after? Well... I suppose we'll have to confirm with our gracious host, since she is footing the bill. But I'm sure we can come to an agreement and sort out some of those other dishes... As the Princess placed her cards down, he let out a small laugh Not ideal, but hey, over all tie. We shall have to play a decider match to determine the winner. He cleared the last of the game away before turning his gaze out toward the Witch and her Rancor, letting out a mechanised whistle through his helmet Ma'am, want something to eat? The kitchen is still open...

Yvaine motions towards Buf with her hands in a well-there-you-go kind of way when he says that Fionnuala had told him he could get anything he needed on her ten credit piece, which would, by definition, include the smoker he needs for the absolutely delish dish he had described, telling him, "Well, there you go! I say you get that smoker posthaste! Giving Buf a thumbs up when he says they will have to have a tie breaking match at some point before a Sabacc Champion of Agamar can be officially declared, Yvaine tells him, Whenever you're ready, I'll be there! Hopping down from her seat, Yvaine gives Buf a wave as she says, I'm going to go see Dawntree!"
Running over to where Mavera is sitting with Dawntree, greeting the Witch of Dathomir, "Hey Mavera! Good hunt? Squatting down in front of Dawntree, Yvaine coos to the Rancor, How was your hunt Dawntree? Did you have fun? Are you all full and tired now? I get sleepy after I eat a big meal too! Looking over at Mavera, she asks excitedly, Do you think you could teach me to ride Dawntree sometime while we're here? Or will she only let you ride her? Do you think we could talk Mum in to taking a trip to Dathomir so I could get a Rancor of my own to ride? Turning back to Dawntree, she asks the Rancor, What do you think Dawntree? Would you like to have a Rancor friend?"

Mavera looked up at the chef. She gave a polite smile and nodded. Please if you wouldn't mind, Dawntree has already eaten as you can tell. I'll have whatever you reco- The Witch was cut off in her response by the torrent of questions from the princess. She patiently waited for her to finish and did her best to answer all of them in turn. Yes, we had a very successful hunt, Dawntree was superb as usual. A large exhale from the rancor in appreciation of the praise. Mavera places a hand on Dawntree's large neck and strokes it and invites Yvaine to join her with a gesture. The Witch tried to decide how then to best answer the next questions. Rancor's are special creatures. Some herds of them are blessed with higher intelligence, those native to Dathomir are among these. Dawntree here is a distant descendent of Tosh, a rancor who was capable of speech! Dawntree sadly cannot speak like we do, but she can understand our words. The most important thing is, just like any mount, you must form a bond of mutual trust and understanding. Now, Dawntree seems to like you okay, As if on queue, the Rancor nuzzled into Yvaine, no doubt almost toppling the girl, but I would probably need to ride along with you. As far as getting a rancor of your own... There is much you would need to learn from my Sisters before you could be deemed worthy, though I have no doubt in my mind that you would succeed. Mavera put her free hand on Yvaine's shoulder and squeezed to emphasise her belief in the young royal. Her enthusiasm was infectious, but not overbearing or obnoxious. And she seemed legitimately interested in other cultures beyond just the flash and surface level. I would be honored to one day call you 'Sister.'

Take care Princess. He gave a nod of his head before Yvaine rushed off to launch a tirade of questions at Mavera, allowing Buf to turn his focus to cooking up several dishes with the ingredients he had set aside earlier. Meat sizzled across several pans as it was tossed upon the heated metal surfaces, with Buf putting on display his skills honed over years of study. Each piece was turned at the right moment and given the due attention it deserved whilst a number of other ingredients were prepped at the last minute as they needed or were pulled from storage pre-prepared. Noodles of several different varieties were dropped into the heated water, beginning the cooking process as the meat and vegetables for various dishes were nearing readiness. The Noodle dishes were served up first, before Buf turned his focus to the Rice dishes, with several plates being set out. They were fast foods, able to be made quickly with ingredients that had been prepared before hand. It was why such items were The Skid Lid Sizzlers specialities and were the starting point from which Buf would expand his menu from. This job alone would allow expansion into new equipment and cuisines to add to the menu.
Once the food was ready, he let out a whistle to alert Mavera and Yvaine, since he suspect the Princess would undoubtedly have worked up a small appetite again. Anything the pair could not eat, would then be left overs for the players to come back and enjoy
