A sudden shrug from Viv was enough to let Achiira know that she was doing okay and was not too concerned about the unfortunate experienced she'd had here with the other Jedi about her liveliness. Achiira for one still held a sadness about it, but remained glad that Viv hadn't changed herself and continued to be true to herself. Then a shrug from Alexia caught her attention and was informed that this temple hadn't always been here and is still relatively new. "Oh, sorry, I forgot that this place was still new. Maybe some other time you can tell me about the old Jedi Base." She gave the young Knight a gentle smile just before Viv gave a remark about Alexia being a bit of a snob, her eyes widened and felt slightly awkward about it, whilst Aleixa handled it with more teasing.
Achiira definitely found the friendship of the two quite intriguing and amusing, since she'd never experienced two like this, or ever really had friends to compare them to. She did enjoy the change and difference they both brought, yet part of her wondered if the discipline she'd had back home would be a stopping point for her to fully integrate with these two. She shrugged the thoughts off and looked between the two Knights, Viv mentioning that she'd swing by her room and drag her out, and Alexia solidifying Viv's words with past experience of this. Achiira didn't know what to make of it, privacy for her was such a massive thing, and would probably not appreciate such invasions given that she'd only just met them. She responded in a way that would not show any sort of discomfort.
" Well I guess I'll have to make sure that I am wearing my nice Pajamas in that case ay? She laughed, knowing she didn't even have any nice ones. "You'll both have to show me your rooms sometime, if that's allowed.

"Oh, please, Lexi. Chi's been ready to get away from us since the moment she was subjected to one of your tours. She's probably been counting down the minutes until you finally got us here."
Vivikayl grinned slyly, leaning against the wall next to the door, and crossed her arms over her chest. It was nice to have some fresh meat in the Temple, especially someone as open-minded as Achiira. Open-minded or naive and innocent. It didn't matter all too much to Vivikayl, though. Having a new student to study at the Temple was something to celebrate, and having a new friend even more so. At the mention of the militaristic Base of old, though, the Echani shuddered slightly before giggling.
"The Base was alright. Nothing special, really. Like Lexi said, it was more like a military-type building. Grand Master Calmcacil turning its unfortunate destruction into a chance for a proper Temple is the silver lining anybody could have hoped for. But that'll be a story for another day."
Vivikayl winked at Achiira, unsure how she would take the mention of its 'destruction.' She was sure that word had reached the other Temples of its fate, though, and that the Base's demise occurred at the Sith's hands. It was a shifting point for the Jedi and an awakening moment for all Jedi throughout the galaxy. Well, maybe. Who knows what Temples tried to keep things from their students? They were all different, and now more than ever, Vivikayl had been shown that fact in meeting Achiira and hearing about the Corellian one. If hadn't been taught that event in recent history, well, that story would be for another day, like she said. Tonight, though, Achiira would need her rest. Sunrise would be here before she knew it.
"You better. I don't want to be pouncing on our bed while you're sleeping in your birthday suit. Talk about awkward." With a mischievous smirk, Vivikayl shot a piercing glance over at Alexia before continuing without losing that expression. "Hey, I see nothing wrong with it. We can even have a sleepover! If anybody wants to frown down upon us from their holy pedestal, we can just borrow a few things from the Archives and say that we're doing a group study or something."

Alexia rolled her eyes as Viv joked about her dull tours. "You're one to talk. I'd more wager she was ready to go when she saw the crazy kid just popping in out of nowhere."
She gave a focus, challenging stare before laughing a bit. But she nodded in agreement that the story of the old base's destruction was something for another day. She'd never forget the Sith invasion and her doing everything she could to fight off the enemy. She had only been a Knight for a short time.
However, her thoughts on the past were suddenly shattered as Viv's words to Achiira about not wanting to jump in on her being naked. She caught the mischievous glance cast her way, making her facepalm with a heavy sigh. "And on that note, I think it's time for us to let Achiira head inside so she can rest." Moving over to Viv, she looped an arm through the Echani's, gripping it tightly enough that she couldn't get away, ready to drag her down the hall. "As for visiting our rooms, there' nothing against it. I'll just have to make sure this behaves herself when you do."

Achiira gasped in cheek as Viv spoke about Achiira counting down the minutes , followed by a bright laugh. Viv really did know how to be cheeky in the most liveliest of ways, yet it almost seemed to push the boundaries with some of the things she came out with. She guessed this was something she'd have to get used to on a daily basis if she was to hang around here for some while. "Hey Viv! Not at all. The tour was actually very informative and eye opening, Alexia did a great Job". She gave a warm smile towards Alexia. Achiira could have played it down and said something in the cheeky fashion Viv enjoyed, but she knew that her polite reply would have irked Viv a little.
Achiira listened as Viv spoke about the old Jedi facility. It didn't sound like anything special like Viv had mentioned. The word Base just seemed very dull and military indeed, something that doesn't sound fitting for Jedi and their purpose. She can only imagine what it looked like. Like Viv said, it would be a story for some other time.
Viv seemed excited at the thought of the three girls having a sleep over, yet Achiira seemed a little on edge about it, Viv moving way too fast for her brain to keep up with. She chuckled slighty, side stepping Viv's developing plans for a sleep over and agreed with Alexia. "Yes, I think its time to let Achiira sleep too. Maybe I can dream about what its like to see Viv behaving herself". She gave a cheeky grin to Viv, before looking to Alexia once more. "Is there anything I important I should know about the room or anything that may be happening tomorrow? Or is everything different for visitors?

Before Vivikayl could follow up with another playful quip, Alexia seemed to have other plans as she wrapped practically a vice grip around the much smaller Echani woman. Although Vivikayl winced and sunk under her friend's forcefulness, her smile couldn't have been taken away that effortlessly.
"Hey, I just figured I'd warn her. You don't have to act so embarrassed by it, Lexi. It's not like I was threatening you or anything."
Vivikayl shot playful daggers towards her friend as she giggled and attempted to squirm her way out of Alexia's hold. If they could manage to arrange a sleepover, Vivikayl would be sure to take vengeance on Alexia with a surprise attack pillow to the face. With a thoughtful hum, though, Vivikayl peered quizzically towards Achiira with a flash of silver as she cocked her head to the side questioningly. There was a brief pause as she simply stared incredulously at Achiira and blinked her eyes a couple of times.
"So, we refer to ourselves in third-person now?" Vivikayl suddenly exclaimed with a cackle, however brushing that aside to answer her question. Grinning mischievously, she continued, "I mean, it should be a pretty standard room. A bed, a small chest for your belongings, and a small refresher to help you feel normal again. Right…?"
Vivikayl revealed some brief hesitance in her voice, her question directed towards Alexia with a tilt of her head upwards. She wasn't exactly a tour guide who had been prompted with all this information before, like some people. Before Alexia could answer, though, Vivikayl just continued down the tracks as she beamed back at Achiira.
"If you're hoping that my beautiful face haunts your dreams, I won't judge," she laughed. "As for tomorrow, just bring yourself and start making yourself at home here. You're planning on staying here for a while, right? So you aren't just a visitor. You're a Jedi of the Felucian Jedi Temple now, just like me and Lexi."

Alexia shook her head with a sigh. "Yes, I'm aware. Just as I'm aware of just how much you can make good on those warnings. The last thing we need is you scaring off Achiira with that kind of talk."
She then nodded to Achiira. "As Viv said, it should have all you need to get yourself started. Tomorrow we can work on getting your own residence in the temple so it can really feel like home." She only then shook her head as Achiira spoke of dreaming what it would be like for Viv to behave, prompting the Echani's response. "Oh please, don't encourage her. Like she needs that knowledge." She then gave a laugh. "Just prepare for what you imagine a normal day for one of us would be." She then gave Achiira a smile. "Need anything before we head out?"

It wasn't until Viv replied that Achiira realised her question about the room was a dumb one, and she just kind of stared back at Viv until Alexia spoke and mentioned about getting her a residence in the Temple. She wasn't too sure how to feel about having a residence here, sure it was a stunning place, and everyone has welcomed her without question or issue and the two Knights with her seem friendly enough, but she couldn't help wonder if settling here was right. Tomorrow will be another day to figure that out, her tired mind needing some form of rest and not remembering the last time she got some decent sleep. She blinked her eyes a few times realising she'd been staring at Viv and spoke to her.
"Right. Thanks Viv. Some normal is what I could use right now. I'll make sure to prepare for the haunting, it might in turn prepare me for when you're dragging me round the temple tomorrow". Achiira gave a slight giggle and a friendly smile towards Viv before turning to Alexia and smiling to her also. "There is nothing I need. Again thank you both for your hospitality and welcome. I look forward to seeing you both tomorrow. I will be awake from Seven O'clock in the morning, so Feel free to come by at any time Viv if you'd like." She did need to encourage Viv to come to her room, it was pretty evident it was going to happen no matter the time, yet Achiira looked forward to it. She back up against the room door and gave a small polite bow as a farewell.

Vivikayl's grin only widened as Achiira's gaze seemed to drift off while staring right at her. The Echani could tell that the poor girl had probably gotten stuck in her head for a moment. It happened. When she came out of it, though, Vivikayl's smile had reached a new, beaming level of mischievous hilarity. At the mention of 'dragging' her around the Temple, the Echani Knight only offered a wink to match, as though to silently allude that she knew Achiira would like it, one way or another.
However, there was something that Achiira mentioned that made Vivikayl rapidly blink several times, as though processing some confusing statement. Her head cocked the side, and after a beat, her silver gaze once fixed upon Achiira drifted over to her best friend quizzically. As Achiira bowed to say her goodnight, Vivikayl couldn't help but whisper, yet per usual to her typical nature, loud enough for Achiira to hear.
"She does know that sunrise is before seven o'clock, right…? I guess I really am going to be dragging her to sunrise meditations in her pajamas."
Vivikayl snickered under her breath before turning once more to face Achiira fully. Placing one hand on her hip and the other poised in a farewell salute, the Echani cocked a hip and gave one last beaming smile towards her new friend before they parted ways for the evening.
"If that's an invitation, just know that you'll never get rid of me," she warned with a giggle. "We'll see you tomorrow, Chi! I'll be here first thing, so you don't miss out on all the fun tomorrow. Sleep well!"

Alexia gave Achiira a nod as she said that she was fine and didn't need anything. It was all that was left before they'd part ways, something that the girl was ready to begin. However, in that moment, she hadn't registered properly the final line Achiira said. From there, the departure was halted by Viv's response. The first comment was directed straight to her, a returning question that made Alexia roll her eyes. Of course Viv would bring up some detail while missing a crucial detail of reality. Sighing she shook her head with a sigh, raising a hand as the other rested on her hip. "And you do realize that she has spent her time on another planet? Perhaps the sun doesn't rise until that time there?"
Unfortunately, her question came too late as the Echani pressed on with the discussion, something that made her drop her head, the hand that was raised moving to her face as to fingers press against the bridge of her nose. Yet again, Viv ran with the invitation. Achiira might have made it clear that she didn't mind and enjoyed Viv's nature, but the girl couldn't even show any form of restraint and keep things a bit more casual and contained for the first meeting. Slipping her free arm through through Viv's, she suddenly pulled tightly so that Viv couldn't break free. "And on that note, we'll leave you to settle in for the night. Sleep well. We'll see you tomorrow." She gave Achiira a smile before heading down the hall, dragging Viv along with her.

Achiira didn't get much to time to reply about the difference in sun rise as Alexia had already grabbed Viv and headed down the hallway. She watched as the two Knights walked away and wondered if they were talking about her. She wondered if they liked her and didn't mind that she was a little quiet and reserved compared to them. Here eyes began to twitch a little, a sign that she was due some sleep.
She entered the room, quickly noticing that her belongings had already been delivered and set at the foot of the bed. She closed the door behind her, didn't look at anything else in the room and walked over to her smaller case on the floor, and sat in front of it. She unlatched the lock, opened it and gave a gentle sigh. Master Shanti's folded robe were inside, along with her polished silver Lightsaber that rested on top. She reached out her hand and held the Lightsaber, pushing its gold button and igniting its blade, the blue hue lighting up her face and the hum of it filling the room.
"I am sorry Master I should have been quicker, I should have been better. I will make you proud and I will not fail you. I promise."
Small tears fell from her eyes as she deactivated the Lightsaber and hung her head for a moment. It was the first time she had had to allow herself to mourn, to miss, and to remember her old master. She put the Lightsaber back into the case, pushed her self up from the floor and took out some night clothes, a tooth brush and a hair brush, and entered the bathroom.
Twenty or so minutes later Achiira emerged from the steamed out bathroom in her night clothes, towel drying her hair. She tied her hair back into a ponytail, pulled back the duvet of the bed and got under it, and laying her head back on the pillow. She thought about her arrival. She wondered if Melia and the children were okay, and if she might happen to cross paths with them tomorrow. She wondered how much more Viv annoyed Alexia since they left her. She wondered if Viv was going to come blazing through the door at 5am in the morning. She then wondered about Atuna and where he had disappeared to. She wondered if she was meant to be here to see him, or if it was just to be here at the Academy. After all, the force brought her here. Tomorrow was a new day to work all that out. One thing she knew for certain, she felt home here. She felt herself drifting off.

Melia heard and felt the morning before she saw it. She stirred at the sound of light breathing one often hears when someone snores, accompanied by the low rumbling of the cooling unit on the ceiling as it dispersed crisp, clean air into the room. As her eyes slowly unclenched, a sudden chill came over her entire body. At first she thought it was stress taking its toll, but quickly realized it was actually quite cold in the bedroom, despite copiously thick covers and the warm padded mattress. Then, immediately, her arm right shot out from under the sheets and slammed onto the bed, or so she assumed it would be. Instead, she smacked bone and flesh, causing a surprised Atuna to leap up from sleep and shout loud enough to elicit a similar reaction from her.
Now sitting upright, Melia looked to Atuna, processed that it was, in fact, him, then contorted her shocked expression into one of anger. She wheeled around and equipped her pillow with both hands, then wheeled again and hurled it at him with all her strength, tipping him over the side of the bed and onto the floor behind it.
"You made me sleep alone last night!" she cried, holding in the better part of her annoyance. "I hope whatever you waited for was worth it."
It took a moment for Atuna to stand, holding his head in his hand, but when he finally released his face, Melia softened almost immediately. Atuna never wore a mask to bed, and frequently neglected to wear one while not in public, so the long, red streaks on his cheeks and bloodshot lines in his silver eyes were frighteningly apparent, even in the dim light coming from behind the ajar bedroom door. As Melia crawled over the bed to his side, he sat down on the edge and panted to compose himself.
"I... hun? Are you okay?"
"N-no."
"Relatively?"
"No..."
Melia wrapped her arms around his chest from behind and snuggled into his neck. With as loose grip as she could, she attempted to gently pull him back to the center of the bed, which he conceded to. Once they were both on their side, she tightened her embrace until neither of them could comfortably breathe. A moment of silence passed before Atuna finally started to sob, which he quickly tried to bury into his pillow. Melia waited, holding him tight, rubbing the back of his neck with her cheek, suddenly overcome with feelings of regret for her outburst.
"I'm sorry, hun. It'll be okay."
"Mmph." Atuna turned his head to the wall again, his sobs reduced to sniffles. "I know..."
"Wanna talk about it?"
"She cared about me. She died for me. I... I could have saved her."
"Who?" She paused to let him answer, but he did not do so. In the moment of silence, Melia racked her brain for names of women from Atuna's past. "Rayla?"
"Sh-she didn't deserve to die."
"It's in the past, Atuna. Let it go."
"I CAN'T!" He tried to jump back to his feet, but Melia did not release her hold on him, so he came back down onto the mattress and began to breathe heavily. "I can't escape these nightmares... They come back. They always come back."
"And I'll always be here when you wake up."
Another brief pause ensued. Even the air seemed to be still as Atuna struggled to calm himself; as Melia continued to hold him down, in both a hug and a grapple. It took almost a minute before he finally slowed his breathing and ceased his crying, at which point he laid a hand on Melia's, still pressed to his chest.
"Yeah. Okay."
"We will cure you of these ghosts one day. Okay?"
"I doubt it. But... I have you to keep me grounded, until then."
"Always."
"I don't deserve your patience. You-"
"Hush. We're not doing this again." Melia finally released her husband, and they both sat upright once more. As she looked at him, she noticed his empty eyes begin to dance around the room. "Deserving has nothing to do with it. You're a good person and a wise father. You just... have your head in the clouds."
"I wish it was that simple. Were I an idiot, at least I could sleep at night."
"Can you turn the air down?"
"What? Oh. Yeah, sorry." Barely a second later, the cooling unit overhead puttered to silence. Melia flipped her head around to see that the temperature control on the far wall had been adjusted to the more reasonable default. "I was burning up, I guess. I don't remember coming to bed last night."
"You were outside meditating when I last saw you."
"Yeah, I got... lost."
"In the temple again?"
"Mm. That night... it-"
"I know, hun. It's okay."
"I... Uh, owe you... like, sex, or something. And an apology."
"Rain check. I have work to do."
"Of course. I... I'll make breakfast."
"And I'll put on a kettle of tea."
Without another word, the couple got off the bed on their respective sides, undressed themselves, redressed in casual day clothes, and opened the door of the bedroom to exit together. The sunlight shone through the window in such a way that it projected a shadow of a sleeping Ivy onto the floor. Melia grimaced at her daughter, who was quite grounded now, then gently removed the helmet from her head and picked her up in her arms. She was light, despite her age; easy to carry to the adjacent bedroom and place in a bed without much effort. With a gentle kiss on the head, Melia left her daughter to sleep correctly, smiling at her son in the opposite bed as she exited. Back in the main living space, Atuna had several objects that appeared to be eggs floating in the air above a skillet. One by one they cracked themselves and slid into the pan to sizzle while he took a knife and began chopping herbs by hand.
"Those for the tea?"
"Yes, my dear."
"I love you."
"Love you more."

The bustling of the Jedi Temple had returned to its usual murmurs as Felix rose into the sky, outperforming the nocturnal beauty of the native flora. For many who called Felucia and the Jedi Temple their home, it was just another typical day. For Master Starflight, however, the day had many things in store, and her agenda listed many peculiarities she wouldn't usually attend. However, for the Jedi Master, it was welcomed. It wasn't every day that she was extended an invitation to follow up with new arrivals.
Skipping her usual, extended morning meditation, Kalli slowly made her way through the guest towers. Although quietly content with meeting Melia again, the Master Jedi took her time to reach her destination while she mulled over their first encounter. She wanted to learn more about her children and help situate them within the Temple. Still, a more prominent thought was to learn about Melia herself -- something that seemed to initially draw the other woman into herself. Perhaps it was the unsettling, perpetual thoughts rising to the surface that her husband and children were Force-Sensitives, yet she was not, not the focus, and to be drawn out into the light may have been an unfamiliar experience. However, Melia had also alluded to other oddities about the family dynamic that may have been the cause. The answers Kalli sought were never quite simple and very rarely answered.
Quieting her thoughts, Kalli approached the door and whispered a silent reminder to herself. She then knocked on the Lemep family's door with a three-knock rhythm that was resounded with quiet resolve, neither reluctant to make itself heard nor oh too loud to demand attention and disrupt inside happenings.
"Melia?" Kalli called out as she leaned in towards the door. "Titus, Ivy? Is anyone home?"

The door slid open to reveal Melia, standing awkwardly in the middle of the room, grinning stupidly towards the small kitchen area in the back corner. At the sound of the door opening, she flicked her head in that direction, her eyes widened at the sight of Kalli, and her smile dropped slowly to a surprised frown.
"Got that for you," said a voice beyond the frame of the door.
"I-..." She recovered quickly, however, and bowed slightly as her smile returned. "Good morning, Master Starflight. I was... about to put on a kettle."
"Leaves are ready, breakfast is cooking, I got the water boiling for you..." Footsteps around the corner culminated in the appearance of a tall, lean man appearing to be in his late twenties or early thirties. His deep, silver eyes betrayed not only his physical blindness, but also years of sleep deprivation and physical stress in the bags and wrinkles underneath. Small red streaks still marred the skin beneath them, and the corners had remnants of bloodshot veins still poking out. His long, black hair lay strewn about on his shoulders and neck, with swatches dangling in front of both eyes, and loose strands dangerously close to his mouth. As he moved to stand beside Melia, about a head taller than her, his"gaze" was cast down on his wife, but he soon turned his head and switched to "looking" at Kalli before he spoke, in stark contrast to Titus, who never once attempted to feign eye contact. "Who's your friend?"
"Master Starflight, this is my husband, Atuna."
"Hey." He threw his hand up in a sheepish wave.
"Titus and Ivy are still asleep. They are not quite used to long periods of travel, like we are."
"They're both real sound sleepers, though. No need to keep quiet or anything."
Both Melia and Atuna still wore their morning attire, modest and unbecoming. Melia's light blue nightgown and silk pants made for quite a contrast against Atuna's white shirt and loose sweatpants, but they both stood with relaxed and comfortable postures, implying a certain ease with appearances among guests.

Dressed in her usual beige robes, altered with lighter fabric to account for Felucia's humidity and heat, Kalli held her bright blonde hair up in a messy bun with a fringe to frame her delicate features. Like Melia's, though, the Master Jedi's familiar benevolent smile was disrupted as the door opened. Cautiously, Kalli leaned her head forward to glance inside the chambers before accepting the opened-door invitation. The Master Jedi seemed to look about for the new voice and presence she sensed, to what she could only assume to be Melia's husband, Atuna. The flurry of motion of Melia's bow drew Kalli's eyes back to her acquaintance, though, and the blonde-haired woman smiled graciously towards the other.
"I hope I'm not intruding at a bad time," Kalli inquired with a quizzical tilt of her head, referring to Melia's earlier frown.
Although Kalli remained facing the other woman, as Atuna came around the corner, her bluish-green gaze shifted to find the tall and lanky man. Although he appeared young, there was a lingering shadow in the back of her mind. The Force tugged at her subconscious, advising her otherwise. From a first glance alone, though, it didn't take the Force to recognize that he had seen better days. It was instinctual for Kalli to bear a motherly manner, aiding those who seemed haunted by their inner demons. In every aspect that the word entailed, she was a keeper of the peace, no matter if it was ridding the acts of chaos or aiding an ally or acquaintance. However, that same silent, warning whisper wrapped the woman in stillness, her typical warm smile still perched on her lips.
"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Master Lemep," said Kalli, dipping her head in a bow, not quite low enough to be a formal gesture but still revealing a sense of respect. Turning back to Melia, she continued with a faint, light-hearted laugh in her tones, "Good. They'll need all the rest they can get. I hope that you both were able to get enough rest despite your long travels?"
Although with slow, cautious steps, Kalli approached Melia with her gaze now fixed in the general direction of the savory smell the kitchen was emitting. Although she didn't touch anything in the room out of personal respect, Kalli looked back at Atuna and Melia with a faint, questioning arch of her eyebrow to pair with her usual, mild smile.
"Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Of course! You can help yourself. To some tea."
"Should be done in a moment."
"Atuna, are the eggs alright to leave unattended?" Melia's gaze, then her feet soon after, drifted in the direction of the stove, where breakfast still sizzled away. She moved a hand to the handle of the skillet, but recoiled when it popped up and flipped the eggs inside of its own volition.
"Nothing in a fifty foot radius of me is unattended, hun." Atuna chuckled at his own bad humor, still facing Kalli while addressing his wife. "And the honorifics are unnecessary, I assure you. I haven't been a "master" of anything or anyone in... quite some time."
A low whine began to emanate from a kettle beside the skillet, and Melia removed it from the stove before it could boil over. She poured her mixture of ground herbs into the scalding-hot water and replaced the lid, allowing it to infuse the flavors for a few minutes. "Except in being a showoff, perhaps."
"I'm getting better!" he insisted. His smirk never faded from his face as he spoke, though his tone better fit the words he spoke. "But, uh, yeah. Sleep. I sure as hell didn't get any."
"And I dropped like a rock once I hit the pillow." A small, barely noticeable twinge pulled Melia's playful smile to a grimace, which Atuna mimicked almost perfectly a moment later. As she passed by him to place the kettle on the table, she looked into his face briefly before turning back to her task. "I was worried about you, of course. You know how I get when you disappear like that."
"I didn't mean to worry you."
"I'm not upset at you."
"You were. You should be still. I think a reasonable person would."
"This is hardly the time or place."
Atuna hung his head as Melia turned back to face Kalli.
"Have a seat, I insist. You can... ask anything. Me, him, the kids, our history..."
"And please, do ask," Atuna added, his head still slumped forward. "We're the strangers here. I'd prefer we start on the right foot if we're to stay."
"I agree. No secrets. You've been very kind and hospitable to us; it would only be fair."

In quiet observation, Kalli kept her gaze trained upon the one speaking as Melia and Atuna shared their back and forth. Melia's puzzling explanations about her marriage during the tour didn't match what she was witnessing now. There was always more that happened behind closed doors--something she picked up as Melia dismissed her husband as he hinted at the idea that she should still be upset with him as she was earlier.
"You're better than many Jedi I know in reining back your emotions to not be seen."
The Jedi Master showed her slight curiosity in Melia with a quizzical tilt of her head. She said nothing else on the matter, though. Instead, Kalli settled herself into a chair as Melia had requested.
"You may be new arrivals to the Temple, but I deeply hope that you can one day feel like this is home. I am a guest in your home, even if this is only temporary. If I overstay my welcome, you are welcome to make that much known."
Kalli started with her usual warm and welcoming smile. It was there and gone a bit too soon, though, first thinking on the puzzling comment that Atuna had mentioned earlier. With permission to pry, Kalli accepted the offer without a second thought or beat of hesitation.
"You claim you aren't a Master, but you've brought yourself and your family to the Jedi Temple for refuge. Were you a Jedi Master at some point then, Atuna? Why are you no longer?" she asked with a gentle certainty for whatever answer he may offer in return. "My understanding is that Titus seeks a Master as well, but you've refused to begin his training. Why is that? I find it peculiar that you wouldn't have started teaching him, even if it was only the basics of Force control or saber combat."
Kalli's gaze followed Atuna as she made her inquiries, but as her final question for him fell, her eyes then found Melia. There were many questions she had for both of them, Melia included, but understanding the multifaceted truth of the Lemep family continued here with Atuna's account of his past.

Atuna's eyes widened, somehow. A truly reflexive reaction, complete with dual-raised eyebrows and furrowed forehead.
"Right for the jugular, then. Unexpected."
"Atuna."
"Heh." A new smirk crept over him, as if he were a small child being asked what he wanted for Life Day. "Umm... Yeah, so the eggs?"
"I've got it. I'll be done before you are." Melia playfully ran her fingers through Atuna's hair, knocking his entire head into a roll as she stood to retrieve the now-unattended breakfast on the stove.
He let out a long sigh, glanced down at his lap, then back up at Kalli. All oddly specific gestures to make for a blind man, and unusually exaggerated in execution to boot. "Right. Where to begin... To answer your question, I'm no longer a Jedi Master because the Order I once served doesn't exist anymore. It's been gone for quite some time, I think... Longer than anyone realizes. The Jedi Order as it exists now is... certainly not the same as it was when I trained as a Padawan. And I say that with a great deal of hindsight because I've seen the Jedi Order evolve over the millennia. I still believe in what the Order does, even now, and I support and defend the Jedi when I can. But I took a different oath, one that wouldn't permit me to live the life I have now, even if the Jedi of today might tolerate a marriage. That was just one of... several things that changed. Not even the most interesting, or the most important. I guess what I'm trying to say is... I'm a skeptic now? Comes with the territory, I think."
Atuna slowly ran his hair back into place with his fingers as he continued, as if the hair in his eyes suddenly bothered him. "To unpack that a little more, let me explain who I am. I'm Atuna Davinari Lemep, son of Anasi Lemep and Daedra Fela'Kai. The Lemep family was neither wealthy nor royal, but they became one of the most prominent families on Katarr due entirely to my father's wisdom and foresight as a stock market mogul. And, yes... I was born on Katarr. That was... what, four thousand years ago, give or take a few hundred? I've lost count lately; it hasn't mattered in a while. I obviously haven't been wandering around the galaxy like this for that long, but you need to know when I come from to understand the where. Anyway, I was chosen to become a Jedi at quite a young age, and barely remembered my parents growing up. I was a dutiful and diligent youngling, and an even more earnest Padawan, to the point that I was Knighted at age nine."
"I began studying to become a historian, a chronicler of the Order's history. It's always been a passion project of mine, history. I love it. Fascinating. But I would be misleading you if I didn't mention that training as a chronicler made the process of attaining Knighthood much easier, because the Order was always in desperate need of shrewd individuals willing to learn and, consequently, teach, the histories. Being a librarian was like a fast-pass to becoming a Master just by virtue of how few Knights actually... wanted to be chroniclers. To add to the recipe, I was quite gifted with the Force, well beyond my years. My pedigree was excellent, and anyone who says being Force-sensitive isn't at least partially genetic is a baseless liar, but I was also a quick study due to my... bookworm-ish-ness. So I was a natural candidate to send up the ranks."
"In my time with the Old Order, as I think of them now, I learned a great deal. But what I always wrestled with in my long, sleepless nights in the Archives behind a desk, waiting for Padawans that never came to read the old texts or listen to the Old Masters, was this: if the Force gives a Jedi their power, why did the Sith, and, to a lesser extent, everything else the Force touched, also use it so freely? What made the Jedi special? What was the Force, and why did it allow the powers of darkness to control it so? You have to remember, the Jedi Civil War had ended recently, and the Mandalorian Wars had not been long before... and if you don't know about those, it's for the better, but needless to say, the context of my training was book-ended by massive, tragic losses for the Order. Lots of dead Jedi, lots of fallen Jedi, lots of dark clouds fogging everyone's minds. A time of great imbalance in the Force, if you will. But in my naive mind, I could not fathom why the Force would... allow itself to become unbalanced like that. Allow evil to flourish."
"I had a vision one night, clear as day in my mind's eye. In stark contrast to my periodic visions from before, which were murky and deprived of details, I very acutely saw my father sitting in a chair in our home. I had never seen my father in my living memory, nor the house, but I knew who and what they were immediately. When I awoke, I looked for him. Scoured the web, with help from some kindly staff who could... you know, see the computer screen, and eventually located him. On Katarr. And I went there to meet him. That same day, Katarr was destroyed, by the Sith. Using the Force, one man managed to... essentially destroy and consume all life on an entire world. I later found out, in my adult years, the entirety of the remaining Jedi Order had gathered there to discuss the Sith, and that was what drew them to Katarr in the first place. Lucky me. Safe to say that I escaped, but had it not been for my father, whom I had met maybe a couple hours prior, I would have perished as he did."
"I cursed fate for a while. I cursed the Force. How could something so tragic, so evil, so completely history-warping, happen? I wanted to know. I wanted there to be an answer. I spent years scouring every corner of the galaxy, looking through tombs, temples, ancient libraries, Sith ruins, Jedi graveyards, battlefields... anywhere I thought I could find what I wanted. And I learned many things as I searched, about the Force and how to wield it, its nature and what it was capable of, and just how extensively it was entrenched in the grand scheme of galactic events. It wasn't until I left the galaxy that I got my answer, and it was not to my liking."
The sudden sound of a plate clattering on the table pulled Atuna from his thoughts, and he tilted his head down to a saucer of sizzling eggs beside a small cup of steaming tea as Melia handed similar objects to Kalli. The herbal mixture wafted over and overpowered the aroma of breakfast, but it was a mild, nostalgic flavor to match the scene. A moment of quiet passed as Atuna appreciated the sight of a simple breakfast, but neglected to touch it before continuing.
"Have you ever heard of Vergence Scatter? A world between worlds, as it's sometimes called? It's a place where all realities in all times are present at once, and an individual finding themselves there could, theoretically, bounce around from one time and place to another at will. Accessing this place is nigh impossible, though, unless you know where to go. In my travels, I found it by accident. So there I was, age... I don't know, thirteen?... faced with impossibly infinite choices and options. I could go anywhere, be anything, cause any act of my choosing to occur or not occur simply by my will. It was in this place I realized the answer to my question simple: the Force doesn't allow evil to flourish. It isn't some multifaceted being at odds with itself constantly vying for control. The Force is impassive, impartial, and only has one agenda: bringing itself to balance. In reality? People are the cause of evil and good. And the Force? It is a living entity, to be sure, but it has no power to stop people from using it for their own motives. Nor does it care. But the moment it becomes unbalanced, it begins the process of righting itself again, by uplifting champions to destroy the sources of imbalance, by fueling the losing side to push things back to center. I discovered all these things and more because I witnessed them, over and over, as I perceived countless events from countless histories and futures across countless years in this place of infinite possibility."
"I could continue. About how I eventually gathered my willpower and left that place, forcibly dumping myself onto Geonosis as the Clone Wars began by total accident. How I watched the Order crumble a second time as I fled the Republic 501st while they slaughtered the Jedi and set fire to the Coruscant Temple. How I joined the Rebellion, saw the birth of a new Jedi Order, totally lost myself in my own mind for decades after that, and finally broke into fragments of my own psyche that I'm still putting back together even now. But... I think you get the point. The end result of it all was, in truth, that I lost my faith in the Force. I dedicated my life to it, in its defense, in its study, and even in its use. I had made myself into a vessel of knowledge, devoid of life and purpose. And I lived a very long life, one so long that I almost completely lost my mind despite finding ways to preserve my body. I am a weary man and my spirit is heavy, but people of my species were never meant to live this long, and a normal person would have thought themselves into a coma or succumbed to dementia, so in that respect I am still fortunate. It was when I met Melia, and realized I could live my life for myself, for my happiness and for the happiness of others, apart from relentless, grueling, self-afflicted pursuit of some... ideal I could never attain, that I came back from the brink and made my life's purpose something new. I went back to my roots, and became a historian; now, I don't just chronicle the Jedi, but all of the Force, and every culture, sect and people group that use it, revere it, study it, as well as applications and use of it."
"My dream is to one day release my finding for the world to see, and create a Great Library of the Force. A pipe dream, to be sure, but not unobtainable. I want the galaxy to know what I learned, and learn it for themselves, hopefully letting them avoid the suffering I endured to attain it. Until then, I have a family to care for and love. That is, when I'm not in some Force-induced trance where I relive traumatic moments from my past for hours or days on end, seemingly randomly. Like I did yesterday, when I got... lost in my meditation. It's just one of several unforeseen consequences of both having so much knowledge and so fragile a psyche."
"Food's getting cold."
"But do you see why I don't want to train Titus, though? I love my son, dearly. And if he wants to pursue becoming a Jedi, I will support that choice and help him train. I'll even provide materials from all kinds of sources to help him understand the Order's history! I'm not afraid of the Jedi, or him. I'm afraid of me. And he's too young to see what I am, at my core: a broken, fragile man, who endured many lifetimes of trials and uncertainies and regrets, having gone to many, possibly every, edge of the spectrum of the Force and its study, having lost every shred of my sanity and pieced it back together little by little. It's impossible to explain to one so young. All he sees is his father, a paragon of strength and wisdom, and the accomplishments I flaunt and the stories I tell him. And he knows my journey began in the Jedi Order. For all he knows, I still am a Jedi, probably."
"Atuna."
Atuna snapped back slightly, then swiveled his head to the right. "Me?"
"You're food. It's getting cold."
Something in Melia's expression bespoke earnest, and the longer he glared at her, the more affirmative Atuna became. He nodded slowly and picked his utensils up, shoveling food in far too much at a time. Melia shook her head and turned to Kalli with a grimace.
"Titus is incredibly unique. A doctor could misdiagnose him as being on the autism spectrum, and for someone his age I could certainly see that. In truth, he's just a miracle baby. When I had him, he was healthy enough, but over the course of his first few months he developed problems. Trouble breathing, frequent heart attacks, blue fingers. It was a nightmare scenario. Atuna knows many wonderful doctors, and he's an excellent healer himself, so they quickly diagnosed that his aortic arch was failing, and his heart was giving out. The older he got, the more it worsened. He wouldn't live a full year, to be sure, even with medicine. The only option was extensive, multistage surgery, but to perform that precise and that important of a surgery on someone so young... his odds were very bleak."
"We came to a solution: using the same technology that cloners use to accelerate the development of clones, we could accelerate Titus's growth and perform the surgery slowly while his body grew accustomed to itself in a sterile environment. Rather than work on his heart, just let him grow until he could have a new one transplanted. Atuna helped develop an artificial intelligence to monitor Titus' vitals, and after it was installed, they began the surgery process. It took... months. And I barely slept the entire time. But with help from the AI and many doctors, as well as extensive study on Atuna's part-"
"-turns out, centuries of dedicated studying makes you pretty good at cramming-" -egg, literally everywhere with each word-
"-we managed to clone him a new heart, implant it, and put him back together. By the time Titus was able to acclimate to life outside the test tube, however, he had... aged. Incredibly fast. We had no choice; he had to be accelerated to the point where the surgery was safe to complete. And I don't regret the decision. But that was only four years ago, and he still has many... rudimentary things to learn about being a functioning child his age."
Atuna nodded solemnly, cheeks puffed with food.
"He does also," Melia added, with a gentle nod to her husband, who turned to her in anguished surprise. "Ivy's birth was even more miraculous, all things considered."
"I would hardly call it 'miraculous,'" Atuna managed after a difficult swallow, still reeling from the burn. "'Birth' is a bit of a stretch too."
"Ivy is... well, that AI that Atuna helped develop. Its purpose for existing was to monitor Titus' health and aid in his development. But like all AI tend to, it... thought. It had access to the entire web, and all the resources it could ask for to help us with the surgery, so it made calculations, predictions, theories. Its ultimate conclusion, once the surgery had started, was that it could not adequately continue to perform its primary function once Titus was healed and released. In relative secret, the AI cloned itself a body. We knew it was capable of this, because we had to grow and store parts of a heart for Titus while he was being worked on, and the AI was more than capable of rendering a heart with the correct materials, but none of us anticipated that it could create an entire child, fully grown, from a pod, in the same time it took us to help him. But it did, and it uploaded all of its data to the child's... brain?... before deleting itself completely. When the child awoke, it named herself... Ivy. And she explained to us that she was the medical AI given life to continue to monitor our son."
"Creepy, but kinda cute."
"I have a bleeding heart, so I was not about to turn a small child away for being overly attached to my son. I adopted her and have made it my life's mission to help her become as human as possible. My hope is that both of my children will become independent and self-motivated. They both present their own unique challenges, every day it feels like, not to mention they're both quite strong in the Force and seemingly linked mentally. No doubt Ivy's doing, somehow."
"Even I don't get it, honestly. I could see Force sensitivity being at least feasibly possible to clone, but a Force bond, especially one that strong, at such a young age? I have trouble believing it was somehow intentional."
"I tell you all this so you can understand the circumstances around my kids. Titus is underdeveloped and quite difficult to convince of things, while Ivy is far too intelligent but has no physical life experience to back up her theoretical understanding of the universe. One child slightly behind his age group, the other neck and shoulders ahead of me."
"That, and also so you can understand why, if Titus wants to be a Jedi, he has to learn from someone other than me. I could certainly teach him anything he wants to know, but I can't convince him that what he wants and what he's doing are not the same thing. He has to hear it from someone else, of authority in the Order. And I am not a Jedi any longer."

Kalli offered a simple smile but one that reached her eyes with the faint wrinkles around her eyes becoming much more evident.
"One must be prepared for the unexpected," the Jedi Master said with a slight tilt of her head towards Melia with a smile. "In truth, Melia and I had already discussed it briefly, and it's been something on my mind since."
That was all Kalli said before she fell wholly silent for the rest of Atuna's recount and answers to her questions. Of course, despite remaining quiet, her shifting expressions showed more than enough, at least if Melia was watching closely. Atuna could perhaps sense the shifting disturbances in her emotions like the ocean wave's ebbing and flowing--from solemn and brief grief to shock and surprise and near disbelief. She remained quiet, though, up until Melia approached with the breakfast they had prepared, to which she gave a whispered 'thank you' and her familiar smile to match. As Atuna continued, however, even she found herself drawn into his story to hardly touch her own food, only sipping at her tea and taking smaller bites from time to time as to not be rude.
Atuna's past soon shifted to the children as Melia cut in, and with her breakfast half-eaten but her teacup now empty, Kalli set everything aside to have her full attention trained upon the other woman. With a final nod of understanding, Kalli allowed a brief beat to fill between the two's explanations before the Master Jedi piped up. Her usually gentle gaze was now heavy with a perplexion and concern.
"If there's anything one can learn from Felucia and it's lifeforms, it's that one must change with the times--evolve if you would--to survive. The Jedi Order has suffered great blows in the past, but we have rebuilt and also evolved, learning from our past to ensure that we no longer make the same mistakes. To help ease one of your voiced concerns, marriage is not so much frowned upon here, although I cannot speak for the Jedi orders throughout the galaxy. I was once wed to a wonderful man, and even the Grandmaster has children of his own. I know that it would take far more than this one point to reconsider your stance as a Master Jedi. Your other goals are astounding. I truly hope that there might be a way that we can bring it to the Grandmaster's attention. The Temple has already become something of a haven for libraries and archives, including Coruscant's Temple after it--"
Kalli cleared her throat, realizing her voice had suddenly drifted off. Collecting her thoughts and summoning another smile to curl at her lips, she continued.
"Regardless, we could use more historians. As you said, very few want to walk that path, and not much has changed between then and now," she finalized.
But then came the heavy part--something that caused even the Jedi Master's composure to crack with a purse of her lips. She seemingly decided otherwise to touch on the philosophical discussion of the Force. To excuse herself, though, she managed a meek and gentle explanation.
"There are many points about the Force you've made that I agree with. As you've said, the Force is impartial. It is sentient mortality that creates the good and evil we define. While I may have never visited the Vergence Scatter, my family has passed down many old stories, legends, and parables relating to the Force and its mysteries. I'm afraid that some of those aren't quite appropriate for teaching or sharing at a Jedi Temple."
To lessen the possible blow to her final statement, Kalli laughed lightheartedly and immediately shifted to the main focus of her meeting with Atuna and Melia today--the children.
"There is only so much that I can grasp about you, your past, and your reasoning in a single meeting, but I can assure you that I have a better understanding of why you've refused to train Titus. I can aid in assigning him to a Master, but with your permission, I would like to first assess him later this week. If he's up for it, that is." Kalli quirked an eyebrow with her smile brightening as she added, "And of course, I would recommend that you help him with his studies."
"As for Ivy, her... delicate situation makes more sense to me now and why she wouldn't want to train beside Titus. However, I would still like to encourage her to reconsider. That is unless you both are against it. With a Bond as strong as the one they share, they could be a great aid to one another. What more, I firmly believe that the training and discipline the padawans learn will help her carve a sense of self, one that isn't to be attached at the hip of the other like I observed." Kalli's eyes then shifted from Atuna onto Melia. "It will ultimately be her choice, of course, but that is one of the reasons I had requested to take her out to see the native flora, to speak with her and assess her personal desires and goals while here with her family at the Jedi Temple."
In truth, the children's whole situation was hard to grasp and even believe, but Kalli wasn't the type to dismiss such things so quickly. From Titus's case to how Ivy came to be--simply trying to process it was enough to cause a faint pounding in her head, even if she did well enough not to show it. If anything, that minor headache showed how much both Atuna and Melia had been through for their family. Leaning forward, Kalli clasped her hands together in her lap, breathed in a deep breath, before continuing on with her curiosities, however offering a brief disclaimer first.
"Please, with all of my questions to understand you, you are welcome to question me the same. I'm a guest in your home but also a servant to the Light Side and this Temple. It doesn't bode well for our acquaintanceship, either, if I know so much about you, yet you know nothing about me."
Kalli chuckled lightly under her breath, allowing her smile to be more easily seen than heard for that brief moment.
"May I assume, though, that your many years and experiences are the cause of your sleepless nights? Or is there something else that plagues you?" Kalli then asked, again indicating towards Atuna. Although she inquired about only the night before, it was clear by Atuna's appearance alone that it was a recurring situation. Melia had made an offhand comment about it happening frequently as well, though, so Kalli glanced over at Melia and added, "How long have they been going on?"

"Hmm. I'm not sure. Years? Decades, maybe?" He put a hand to his chin and rubbed the stubble there. "Time is hard to track for me. I've just been alive too long, if I'm honest. As best as I can tell, the nightmares are related to my Force Sensitivity. I probably just have a weak link between body and soul from where I've spent so much time close to, or in, oneness with the Force. The best way I can describe it is like an out-of-body experience, I guess? If I ever cut myself off from it, I theoretically could cure myself."
"On another note, I'm sure Titus will absolutely take the chance to train under a master. And Ivy seems to like the area around here, so she would most assuredly enjoy the chance to explore. But-"
"-for the time being, we want to separate them. If we could."
"Yes. Especially if Titus will earnestly pursue training."
"Their bond is strong, to be sure. But it's more than just the Force, you understand. Ivy has no real sense of herself. She's still learning what it means to be made of flesh. Right now, she's obsessed with our son."
"I want my daughter to learn to be her own person, but I want her to do it in an environment where she won't distract Titus from doing the same. At least for now. They've never been apart in the years they've known each other."
"Normally not an issue for siblings, but... these two have some self-actualization to do. Us being here is a good opportunity to separate them and let them learn how to live apart, so they can be strong together later."

Kalli hummed at Atuna but said nothing at first. It was more than understandable, that time was hard to track. Atuna couldn't pinpoint his exact years. After over four millennia, she was sure that time would be meaningless--a dull aching that could be an influencer to his sleeplessness. They were all theories, though, as Atuna had put it, including his 'cure.'
"-or it could kill you-" Kalli effortlessly inserted herself directly after him. Concern was evident in her eyes, as though she tried to shy Atuna away from the very idea. "-and Melia and your children need their husband and father."
After clearing her throat from her abrupt interruption, the Master Jedi shifted her gaze towards Melia. The shift in focus was always welcomed when it came to the children. As much as she wished to help fix the brokenness easily evident, Kalli knew that only the Force could do that. She nodded her head in understanding towards the parents' concerns over their children.
"Of course. Titus has never been a question, but with the new information that has come to light, I'll ensure we tread carefully with his training. I wouldn't want to overwhelm him."
Kalli smiled warmly, hoping that both that smile and her words would put their concerns at rest.
"As for Ivy, that's why I was hoping to convince her otherwise, to accept a Master, one different from Titus, and further refine her skills and discipline. I've found that nurturing another's talents and gifts can guide them into that self-realization as to who they are. The Force is a powerful ally. If she chooses to remain separated from that aspect of her gifts and, instead, focus on her love of technology, computers, or even the native plants on Felucia, we can start there instead. This is a big change for all of you, especially for your children, based on the intensity of their bond. I don't want to push either of them past their boundaries. We all agree that pushing them past their comfort zones is how they'll grow, though."
Kalli's smile brightened for a flicker of a moment. At the very least, she appeared to take everything they had said in earnest and didn't question or doubt their incredulous past. Her smile was brief, though, before she tilted her head curiously to the side. Her gaze wasn't focused on one over the other, but instead, she addressed them equally.
"Well, we've discussed somewhat of your children's possibilities during their studies here at the Temple. We haven't gotten the chance to discuss your plans or aspirations, unless, of course, your plans are to depart once things are more settled for Titus and Ivy... or simply Titus?"
The questioned assumption left the Master Jedi watching them both with a slight hesitance, as though she hoped in some manner that they both considered keeping their family at the Temple. The blonde-haired woman, though, was naturally realistic regarding such matters. Separating Ivy. Atuna stepping away from his once Jedi Master status. It was an understandable assumption that Atuna, Melia, and Ivy would depart in due time, all things considered.
