Mark did not seem at all surprised when Morgan revealed that the planet was her mother, or when she went into her explanation of how the planet became her mother. One may have found it strange that he wasn't surprised, but... Mark had witnessed his fair share of weird things when it came to his parents. He still could not figure out how or what his father did to bring him here, but it happened. And from what little Mark remembered of it, it was weird. So this was not any stranger to him.
What did peak his interest the most, though, was when she mentioned this... Force... and powers. Mark had heard his father mention this Force thing quite a bit, but he never understood it. He didn't really know what it was. Therefore he was never able to put it together with his ability to sense certain people.
"She gave you powers? You... use this... Force? My dad used to talk about it all the time... what is it?"
Mark was more eager and perked up than he had felt in a long time. For once, he might actually learn something about what his father did. All he knew about the Force was that the Jedi used it, but he hadn't seen Jedi up close, except for his parents, and recently at the base.

*As Mark asked his questions, Morgan nodded in response to both, though started to look a little confused when he seemed to not know much about the Force. And then he outright asked what it was. Morgan frowned. He... had never heard of the Force? That was rare. And now she had the task of explaining what it was? Well, this should have been easy, she knew, but how did she...* Well, the Force, it's... *She turned to her left without lifting her feet, sucking her left cheek in between her teeth. She quickly reviewed all her lessons about the Force itself. Energy field, source of all life, was everywhere, had powers and let people do incredible things... Okay. She had this. She turned back to Mark with a smile.* The Force is an energy field that is the source of all life. It's everywhere, in the entire universe, and it holds the universe together. Some people can use its power, and they can do amazing things, like run faster, or jump higher, or be stronger, or talk to people with your mind, or heal, or lift stuff without touching it, or sense other people's emotions... *Her excitement at a successful explanation quickly wore off, however, and her head tilted to the side as she became confused once more.* But... how come you don't know what it is? I mean, you can use it, so you should know...

Mark nodded as Morgan explained the Force as best as she could to him. Interesting... an energy field that was everywhere in the universe. And some people can use its power. Mark assumed the Jedi did this, because he had heard of some of the things that the Jedi could do, but never really witnessed it himself. But then Morgan said something that took Mark completely by surprise, and he found it to be confusing... she said he could use it.
"What do you mean? ... I can use it?"
Mark could indeed use it, but he didn't know he could. He had no idea. It had never really crossed his mind before, because he had no training, he never really knew what it was, and he was never really paying attention to it. He had been so focused on what happened to his parents. He never really stopped to consider that he might be able to use this Force... this all-encompassing field of energy. The thought of it certainly peaked his interest though.
"Are you sure? I mean... how do you know?"
Then, seemingly, a sense of realization crossed Mark's features. And he asked Morgan.
"Can... can the planet teach me too?"
And Mark's last question about the planet teaching him was completely serious, honest, and an innocent question. It did not seem at all weird to him. The planet obviously taught Morgan certain things about the Force, so if Mark was able to learn about it as well, it made sense for him to ask. Mark didn't know enough about the subject to understand that a Jedi was the first person to go to to learn about the Force. Morgan had been talking about her connection with the planet, so that was prominent in Mark's young mind.

*Morgan stared blankly when Mark had no clue that he could use the Force. How did he not know? He could sense her coming, couldn't he? She was completely bewildered that he seemed so clueless about the Force, and if his father supposedly talked about it, there was no way he could be this clueless. Was there?
And then he asked if the planet could teach him too... and she frowned. For one thing, that hadn't exactly been what Morgan had meant when she said she'd learned new things from Felucia... That, and she was the only human— Er, only non-Felucian, rather, who'd been able to link to the heart of the world and commune with it as she had been able to. In fact, she had an even deeper connection to the planet than Felucians. Slowly, she shook her head.* No... I'm the only person who's been able to get close to Felucia like that. And, well, she did teach me things, but not how to use the Force. She taught me new things and gave me powers, and, well, I guess she taught me a little bit about how to use them? But... someone else needs to teach you. A Jedi Master, or a Knight. Felucia won't be able to teach you. I don't think anyone else can link to her like I can... *Morgan did a good job of masking it, but she detected a bit of selfishness in her feelings as she spoke, as though she didn't want anyone else to share the same level of connection to the world as she did. It was unique, a special connection she could use to commune with the world, to protect herself and others. She loved that ability more than most other things, and the thought of her being the only one who could do so made her treasure it even more.
But she also realized she still had to answer Mark how he was able to use the Force. This was good, she wouldn't have to worry about whether she was being selfish or not any longer.* And I know you can use the Force because you could sense me coming. Only people with the Force can do that. *She still didn't understand how he didn't already know that... Did he think that the world itself just gave people these powers? That was... a little silly. Well, depending on what kind of stories he might have heard, but to Morgan, it was a silly idea. Worlds could maybe boost your abilities, but couldn't give you new powers outright...*

Mark listened intently as Morgan explained how only she had that special connection with the planet. And he took her word for it. He had just assumed it would be a normal thing for those who used the Force, but, evidently it was a much more unique situation. He didn't want to push it further either, since it seemed like something that was very special to her, by the way she talked about it. She then went on to explain to him how she knew that he could use the Force, because he was able to sense her presence. He was surprised to realize that only Force users could sense each other. He thought everyone could.
"I thought that was normal... I remember sensing my parents when I was really little..."
Of course, Mark hadn't seen his parents in at least five years, so his memories of them were a bit vague. That's why he never remembered much specifics about what his father said about the Force, because it was so long ago and he was so young. That's why Mark was so oblivious about all this.

*Morgan had to wonder just how sheltered Mark had been. Well, maybe that was unfair, especially since his family had been caught up in wars and his own mother apparently rejected him and he was in this galaxy alone with no one to help him. But how could he not have known that abilities like that weren't normal? He was older than her, surely by now he would have found out about Jedi and such by now...* Well... it's not. Only some people can, and those people can be Jedi... or Sith... or neither... or some of them never get training. But that's what the Jedi Base is for! There are teachers there, they can help you learn how to use the Force and be a Jedi. We're the good guys. Sith are the bad guys. *Morgan's tone went rather serious at the end, as though she wanted to make it clear that Sith were not good people. And, well, they weren't. She knew from experience, and was grateful that she was able to draw at least one of them—her uncle Ambar for that matter—away from their crazy faith. She just hoped Mark never had to deal with their sort until he was ready for it...*

So the Sith were bad... that made sense. He had heard mention of the Sith before, but that was about it. But whenever they were mentioned, it was usually with some sort of negative connotation. But then his interest was peaked again when Morgan mentioned that he could learn at the Jedi Base. Maybe he should go back after all.
"I can learn at the base? Maybe... maybe I can go back now. Do you wanna... can you come too? I don't wanna go alone."
Mark admitted. He wouldn't know how to get back, for one thing. And, well, like he mentioned earlier, this was the first really good company he'd had since he lost his parents. He would wait to ask questions about the Sith. Although he did have them.

*Morgan nodded when Mark asked if he could learn at the base, then smiled reassuringly when he seemed to think he was ready to go back. Then he asked if she was going to come too, saying that he didn't want to go alone. She almost frowned; she hadn't really been outside long, and she'd wanted to stay outside longer... She looked over her shoulder, as though giving the jungle a wistful glance, and whispered audibly.* I'll be back later, Mommy. *When she looked back at Mark, she was smiling as she climbed back up on Rush's shoulders, Lokay bracing himself during the motion so that he was hanging onto her shoulder, and then she gestured at him.* Come on up! Oh, wait, let Rush get your scent first. Just hold out your hand and let him lick it. Then he knows you're a friend! *With a pat on his neck and a nudge through the Force, Rush stood up on all fours and approached Mark slowly.* Just do it. He won't bite! Then climb up! I'll tell him not to go too fast if you don't want, but we'll still get there faster riding him. *She hoped he wasn't afraid of animals. He seemed a little wary at first but it was probably because they'd surprised him. Rush could be mean when there was danger, but he usually was a good and obedient creature. And very protective of Morgan, which she was grateful for.*

Mark slowly let out his hand as Rush approached him. He wasn't as nervous as he expected to be, because he believed Morgan. After Rush licked his hand, Morgan offered to help him up on the akk dog's back. Once he had gotten onto Rush's back properly, he looked over to Morgan, just a bit unsure of what to do.
"Uh... so... what do I do?"
Mark asked, with a bit of a sheepish expression. He had managed to get on Rush's back without a problem, but he didn't... well, of course Morgan would probably tell Rush what to do. She did say she was coming, after all.

*Morgan helped Mark up onto Rush's back, then readied herself, placing her hands on either side of Rush's neck. But before she could have him run off, Mark asked her what he should do, and she frowned. He must not have ever ridden an animal in his life before. Morgan just grinned and looked over her shoulder at him.* Just hold onto me. We're gonna go a little fast, but not too fast. You won't fall off. Just hang on! *She the leaned forward, giving Rush instructions through their Force bond as she spoke.* Okay Rush, run fast, but only a little fast, not a lot, okay? *Rush almost seemed to grunt in acknowledgement, shaking his head before darting off, first at a fast pace before slowing to a steady gait. Morgan grinned, wondering if Mark was enjoying the ride. He wasn't her first passenger, that would be Jake, and Jake was more used to Rush so they usually went faster than this. Morgan didn't mind; they'd still make it back to the base in no time.*

*Ah, back outside once more. Morgan loved being outside, and while she was normally always happy and cheerful, there was still a noticeable spring in her step when she left the base and felt the touch of the grass upon the soles of her feet. She beamed wide as she breathed in the air f the jungle. This was her natural element.
She turned toward Terra, giggling with excitement, then glanced over her shoulder briefly before looking back at her.* Before we go, there's someone I want you to meet. *She turned around again, staring out into the jungle. She then narrowed her focus, extending her senses out into the jungle. He had to be out here... Yes! There he was! Morgan beamed, connecting to his consciousness, sending a thought that equated to her saying "Here, boy!"
Then she waited. Barely ten seconds later, she heard a rushing movement through the woods, then a large, red shape burst from the brush with a growl. It scrambled to a stop just in front of them, then sat down on its hind quarters, tongue hanging out. It was a large, red, round-eyed, scaly akk. Morgan grinned and hugged its neck, turning toward Terra.* This is Rush! He's my pet, and he protects me. We'll be safe with him, but you should probably let him get your scent first. *Morgan hoped he hadn't terrified Terra by bursting out of the woods like that. Terra was, so far, the second person she introduced Rush to in this way, the first being her mama. The latter had taken to him rather well. Meanwhile, Lokay, who had been riding Morgan's shoulder this whole time, immediately climbed off her back to sit behind Rush's neck. The little tailring had taken to the akk rather quickly, and now they were both rather inseparable.*

Terra smiled when she saw Morgan rapidly cheering up, and she couldn't help but feel a little less anxious herself. She loved being outside, and though the jungles of Felcuia were far different than the forests of Corellia, she still felt more at peace outside. And it was nice to see Morgan so excited.
Her head turned when she heard some rustling and suddenly a big large akk appeared, and this must be the one that Morgan wanted her to meet. It was obviously not hostile, and besides, there was a vornskr wandering around the grounds back on Corellia so it wasn't like Terra had never seen large animals before. Too bad she couldn't have brought Selaya with her, but Jade probably wouldn't have given approval for that...oh well.
She smiled. "Hello Rush." She took a very slow step towards the akk, not wanting to startle him, and smiled. "You seem to have a lot of pets, Morgan."

*Terra had remained composed at Rush's sudden appearance. Morgan had to admit she was a little bit disappointed. Sure, it was a good thing that she hadn't completely freaked out, but Morgan was really looking forward to the time when she could summon Rush and absolutely scare someone right out of their skin. But oh well, maybe next time.
As Terra stepped forward, Morgan mentally nudged Rush to take her scent, which he did by licking Terra's hand and flicking the scent into his nostrils. Terra then commented on her seemingly having many pets, and Morgan grinned.* Well, it's j— *She cut herself off as a thought came to her, and she grinned mischievously.* Yep! I got lots. Just Lokay and Rush are my favorite. *She giggled, then pulled herself onto Rush's back. He responded by standing up on all fours. Morgan giggled as she placed her hands on either side of his neck, turning him toward the jungle before looking over her shoulder at Terra.* C'mon, let's go! Oh, and watch out for Rush's tail. He won't hit you on purpose, but akk tails hurt. *After this matter-of-fact statement, Morgan nudged Rush forward, tapping her heels against his hide. He began on a slow trot toward the jungle's edge, leading them down one of Morgan's familiar paths. As they slowly became engulfed by foliage and all manner of strange fungi and growths. As Morgan led Terra onward, she began to speak about the jungle.* I come out here all the time. Before I didn't have Rush, but I was okay, I knew how to get around the jungle and stay safe. But now with Rush, I'm even safer, and can go even further if I ride on his back, because he can run fast! Anyway, it's not too dangerous this close to the base. There can sometimes be these giant boar things, but I can make them go away if I need to. The really dangerous animals are further out in the jungle, like rancors and acklays. There are some dangerous ones in the rivers too, but there's some lakes that are safe for swimming because there's nothing in them. It's really nice, when you get used to it. And pretty! There are places that, when the sun shines through, cast a rainbow on the ground, and at night, things light up! I wish I could show you, but I don't know if you're supposed to be outside late at night... *There was more she could say, but she fell silent for now, letting Terra comment or ask questions. Morgan glanced over her shoulder at the woman for a minute, watching her expressions or reactions, before facing forward again so that she could watch the direction they were going in.*

Terra listened to Morgan speak about the jungle, marveling at the myriad of plants and the presence of life that she felt through Ashla's currents was massive, much more so than the woods on Corellia. She tread carefully like Morgan had told her, keeping an eye on all the plants as well as Rush's tail. The akk seemed friendly enough, though she found herself thinking about the vornskr Selaya and wondering if she could have taken the predatory animal with her. Especially if they ran into some of Felucia's more dangerous animals, though one vornskr would likely not be of much use against a rancor or an acklay and again, Jade likely would have said no anyway...
Morgan had mentioned some swimming areas, but since Terra didn't know how to swim, she didn't know if going there would be productive. That would have to be something to learn sometime soon.
She smiled and shrugged, kind of wanting to see something like that. "We'll see...I'd like to see that though..." She looked around again for a moment. "So where are we going?"

*Morgan smiled when Terra said she'd like to see the world lit up at night. In her mind, you'd have to be crazy to not want to see something like that. It really was very beautiful. Morgan was about to suggest coming back later, before sunset, so that Terra could witness it for herself, when Terra suddenly asked where they were going. Morgan glanced around, getting her bearings, then shrugged.* Nowhere, I guess. Just sorta walking around and looking. We won't get lost though, I know my way back; I've been out here lots of times! *She turned around to grin at Terra, then revisited the previous subject.* Anyway, if you wanna see the world light up at night, we could come back later maybe? Like, before sunset? It's really really awesome! *Sunset shouldn't have been more than a few hours off, now that she thought about it. Not that Morgan would have minded staying out in the jungle for a few more hours, but that was up to Terra; Morgan was fully aware that not everyone shared her enthusiasm for the great outdoors.*

Terra looked around, wondering how anyone would be able to navigate such a thick jungle, but Morgan seemed confident that she could find her way. They probably weren't even that far from the base, but Terra couldn't see it from where they were now. Good thing Morgan seemed to know the jungle so well...
She smiled and shrugged. "I'd like to see that..." She thought for a moment about what to do until sunset, and couldn't really think of much. So far, her time on Felucia had been rather uneventful. There was always studying or meditating but either activity could only hold her interest for so long. She looked back at Morgan. "What should we do until sunset? There wasn't much for me to do at the base."

*Terra apparently really wanted to see the night light up, and who was Morgan to blame her? Terra even admitted there wasn't anything for her to do back at the base and asked what they should do until sunset. There were many things, at least in Morgan's mind, but now that she had a bearing on her location, there was one thing that easily came to her mind first. She pointed at the distance and turned at the waist to look at Terra.* We could go swim at the lake nearby! It's not far. *It didn't occur to her that Terra didn't likely have a swimsuit—let alone knew how to swim—but of course, swimsuits never crossed her mind when it came to swimming in the jungle.*

Terra wasn't sure about going to swim at the lake, mainly because she didn't know how to swim and didn't have swimwear. But Morgan seemed so excited to go, and she didn't want to disappointment the girl by saying no. Besides, Terra didn't really have any better ideas, save for just wandering through the jungle or going back to the base. She shrugged. "We can go there. But...I can't swim though."

*Morgan smiled when Terra said they could go there, but then frowned when Terra said she couldn't swim. That was disappointing... Morgan would have liked to have gone swimming but if Terra couldn't swim then that would just be a waste of time. Morgan tilted her head to the side thoughtfully for a moment, then shrugged.* We can go somewhere else then. Maybe find the river and walk by it, or look around at some other places— Well, no, the really interesting places are too far away. Hmm... *Now Morgan was at a loss. What she really wanted to one day do was take someone to the Felucian village and introduce them to the Felucians and their culture, but that was far too far away, at least for a sudden journey out of the blue. She could always show Terra some of the places they'd traveled during her first visit here, but the only particularly interesting landmark she could think of was the spiral fungal column where they were attacked by the acklay, or—* Wait! I know! There's a cliff back that way that lets you see for a long way! And it's a very pretty view. ... but I don't guess that'll be interesting for a couple hours... *Morgan had pointed in the direction she was indicating and was beaming until the realization set in and she started to shrink a little. Bah, she normally found it easy to have fun out here, but why not now? Maybe it was because her company was usually kids her age, and ones that could swim... Well, they'd think of something. Probably.*

Terra shrugged, though some of those places Morgan had suggested sounded like fun, or at least a chance to enjoy the scenery. Still, not a good way to kill several hours, but Terra didn't have any ideas herself, though that came from really not knowing much about the planet. She sighed and shrugged, figuring they could just go to the lake if Morgan really wanted to. Even if Terra couldn't swim, they could find something to do there.
She sighed. "Well...we can still go to the lake. I mean...if you really want to." She giggled a little and shrugged again. "Besides, I can't think of anything myself. Hee hee."
