Fiora silently picked up the required 2 cards before placing down a Blue Scout and then a Blue 3. After that play, the number of cards in her hand had remain unchanged. But she would get them down
Well, I can't really stop you, so I guess you'll just have to convince my Father... Why is meeting someone a distraction for you? I'd think having someone, anyone really, in which to confide and share any burdens with, would be a good thing... My Mother and Faina both supported my Father in ruling the First Order. Perhaps they're just worried about you shouldering everything alone? Having a husband, or wife, can't be all that tiring a thought? They do say that alone we fall, but united we stand strong...

I am complete, being single. A person's goal should be on making them self a better person. A relationship is often a good way to do that. It is a means to a goal, not a goal its self. Especially if you are the one with power already. BaronessGreen

Fiora eyed her hand for a moment as Standash once again set the colour to green with a Baroness, causing her to draw 4 additional cards It seemed that the Grand Moff had a significant amount of Green cards and would likely win once they were all played
Ah, I think I see where the real opposition lies... You fear someone of lesser power or lower... rank from pursuing you and trying to take it away... or use it for themselves...
Fiora played a Baron. She was young and definitely had her moments where things were not all to clear. But power dynamics were something she already had a decent understanding of
Red... Also, I didn't think you were incomplete. Just that you cannot shoulder the burdens the First Order places upon us, alone... It would be a shame to lose you simply to being overworked and overburdened...

The Grand Moff couldn't help but laugh a bit at the idea of being afraid of that.Not so much princess, mostly I am just content and confident in who I am. I do not need a man to define me. If a situation is mutually beneficial, I may be open too it. But it is not something I need.
She draws a card and plays a Red Knight That is what good friends and allies are for. You let them share the burdens you need help carrying.

While she was still holding 12 cards, at most her current hand could dispose of up to 3 cards in one turn, and then 1 card per turn after that. But the Grand Moff's confidence made Fiora huff and scowled at Standash

The Grand Moff gave a practiced and charmed smile. It was fake, but it was very convincing. She spoke with a joy that bubbled and was pleasant to the ear.Surely your Highness has learned, that a princess is always in court. Retreats are still done with self assuredness.The woman laughs and breaks the fake smile with a real one, only by contrast could the truth of the fake one be noticed. Except around me, if you would. Feel free to let them down around me in the future. Every Princess or powerful women needs someone to just be a girl around. Mine, is named Annelise. Even though she had expected to lose, it still drew a sigh and huff as she placed the cards in her hand down a little more roughly than she had intended. The Grand Moff was twice her age, so it made sense that she would have the upper hand from the start. At the very least, it wasn't a complete loss. Standash seemed to offer some wisdom and advice which might be useful
Well this Princess is most certainly not always at court. One of the benefits of not being the immediate successor to the throne...
While there were certainly moments she envied her twin's position and role a the Crown Prince. She was also thankful that such a responsibility did not rest on her
I have my friend Jin...
She made the statement a bit softly, but enough that Standash might just be able to make it out
I'll certainly keep you in mind should the need arise... Also, wouldn't the best way to win be by not playing their game at all, but just by being yourself? Boys are just mean and rude, and act really weird sometimes...

We all have our roll in it. Joyfully, we can take charge of it at times. Change the rules, bend it to our will. Sometimes you will win.He mind goes back to her dismantling of the Republic by playing the game better than those around her.Sometimes you lose.This time she thinks of the Alliance.The part you must keep in mind, if you are still alive you get to keep playing.
The smile comes back at the Princess's last comment.Yes, yes they are. Those are stories for another time... When you are older. But know that they have their part in the game.
Jin does sound like a good friend. Just be ready to listen too her when she calls you out. Otherwise she is just a subject, not a friend. She can be wrong, but we still listen to friend when they are wrong.

Fiora sat and listened intently. It seemed rather weird to trivialize existence as an adult or even just a living being as just a game to be played. Perhaps it was just the Grand Moff's approach to life. And if it was, it seemed to have worked for her so far to get her where she was today. Perhaps one day when she was older and wiser she might find out more. For now though, her thoughts turned back to Standash at the mention of hearing stories about boy's when she was older. Generally when adult's said that, it generally meant there was some icky story about topics Fiora did not wish to think about
Maybe I'll pass on those stories when I'm older as well...
Fiora just silently gave a nod of her head in response to Standash's comment about Jin and listening to her friend, even when they're wrong. Jin was special to her, and she would always hear her out

Every now and then, Standash did wonder what she was missing by staying single. If she was really sacrificing something of value. It was just hard for her to imagine being that open and vulnerable with another person. A large portion of her confidence came from being "invincible" no one was close enough to hurt her. Letting someone in meant letting them get close enough to strike. She had done well and been very successful. She knew that this would not have been the case if she was in a relationship.
They haven't really been worth it that I have seen so far. Makes you pity those that have them.

Fiora placed the cards that had made up her hand into the pile and pushed it toward the Grand Moff to clean up. They were her cards after all. It also gave Fiora a moment to consider Standash's comment. She was only 10 years old, but she had also been raised to be somewhat considerate of her words
I wouldn't be here if my Mother had not given my Father a chance... So I guess I'm a little biased there...I just don't see th... it for myself...

But with Octavian as the Crown Prince, I have far fewer to worry about...
The smile faded then, as Standash changed the subject toward the Ren. It was the one subject she was one of the most knowledgeable people in the Empire about that was not a Ren. Yet anyway. Though she was quite certain her knowledge was limited
The daughter of a Ren, and destined to become one myself... I can certainly try answer your question.

She had expected the usual Imperial sneer and questions about outlandish legends or tales. The Ren had generated a great many to their name just on the basis of being darksiders. Fiora suspected eventually she would end up the subject of tales regarding the Ren, and their exotic taste for stealing away and devouring princesses. Instead, Standash asked a rather genuine question, which caught her off guard for a moment
Well... uhhh... I don't know about friends. The Ren are like family and have each other, since they discard their former identities and lives. I suppose that is something I may have to do as well... I guess it all depends how they treat a Princess... As for fun, I would imagine they have it sometimes. They just carry a great burden a lot of the time... I suppose only time will tell if we can continue to see one another. I would not be opposed to it...
