Claw: "My cruisers are fine. We just could use a safe spot to camp out temporalaly. His men look somewhat tired of waiting for an answer. Niner: "Sir we need to finish up talking and start doing." Claw nods in agreement. He looks over again at Calin again and speaks firmly. Claw: "I will be sending word to my men to move out of their site." Claw reaches out to shake Calins hand.

Calin stares at the offered hand for a full three beats, then reaches out and shakes it. As he does so, he deactivates his external speakers again, and opens a line to the gatehouse. "Salvo, business is concluded out here. Open the gates, we're coming in." "Roger that, Cal. Doors opening now. You want them left open?" "Thanks, Salvo. Yeah, leave, 'em open, maybe our 'guests' are gutsy enough to come in too." "Copy that, boss." The doors open as Calin releases Claw's hand. Shade and Kix turn around and walk through, followed by Calin. After they walk through the gate, which is open just barely wide enough for them to pass through, Calin opens a comm to the command center. "Erik, you there?" "Yep, what do you need, boss?" "Open a line to the 'Skies'. I want the 'Death' down here with our main kit." "Got it boss. Looking forward to getting the gear back on." Erik opens a line to the fleet. About fifteen minutes later, an LAAT/i with a blue and black paint scheme, and the name 'Black Death' stenciled in aurebesh on the wings and below the cockpits. It lands, and the fifty troopers of Able company converge on the gunship, leaving the troopers of Kyr'am Company manning the walls alongside half of Sabre Unit. The gunship's bay doors open, revealing a hold full of identical metal storage crates. The two loadmasters on board pass out the crates to the troopers, with each soldier receiving the crate with their name on it. Once the gunship is empty, it takes off, and the troopers carry their crates to their quarters in the command center, where they quickly change into the new sets of armor, and load up with their custom-built carbines. Once they finish the armor swap out, they return to the courtyard. Calin heads to the gatehouse overlooking the walls, and looks out over the fields as the day draws to a close, and as the sun sets, the sky turns to crimson.

The gunships arrive and land around the courtyard. Troopers shuffle out and begin to set up a camp site. Claw: "Hey Rex nice for you to show up. What took you so long." Rex: "We had to clean up the site and load it onto the gunships." Claw looks over at his squad he picked out and motions for them to go help out. Claw: "Come on Rex lets go help out too." Rex: "Right behind you." The gunship that is carrying Gwydion arrives and once the doors open the men got out of there swiftly. Although they trust Gwydion somewhat now but they are still careful around him. Master Kote: "Ok Claw whats the progress here?" Claw: "We have permission to camp here but we may not be able to get the other 48,000 down here just yet." Master Kote walks up to Asalla. Master Kote: "You better ready your tent."

Gwydion steps out of the gunship, his nearly seven foot tall black cloaked frame contrasting starkly with the six foot tall white armored clone troopers who are endeavoring to keep their distance from him. He looks over the fortress, standing silhouetted against the blood-red sky for a period of a few minutes. He then silently strides through the bases open gate. Once he is through, he stops in the courtyard, and looks around.

Asalla looks at Maste Kote and nods. She watches Gwydion walk past and then sets up her tent. She hums as she works. Asalla kneels on the ground to fix her untied boot and while she's there she sees a different scene other than where she is at the moment. Asalla freezes and stares into space at a memory...
Houses from her home in Shili were burning up in flames. Men were in and out of homes wrecking everything inside and killing everyone in their path. Nine year old Asalla ran through the shadows of the night to her own home which was also burning. She stood in front of the doorway and watched as a muscular figure shot her mother in the forehead and her father in his chest. Asalla screamed,
Asalla: NO!
The man looked towards her with an evil and crazed look in his eyes. Asalla turned and sprinted away from her house with tears flooding from her eyes and the sight of her parents dying stained in her mind.

Claw, Rex and Master Kote sees Asalla run away and goes to chase her down. As they run they shout her name. Master Kote: "Asalla!" The others start to notice something is up. Sevens: "Don't worry they can take care of it." The men go back to preparing for the night.

After her memory vision, Asalla returns to her body to see that she's bolting from the camp so fast that the trees are a blur behind her. She looks around frantically and plants her feet on the ground. Unfortunately she had been running too fast and the momentum caught up with her as soon as she stopped. Asalla tripped over her own feet and landed on the ground rolling over herself from the speed of the run. Finally, after several tumbles, Asalla landed on her back on the ground with tears still coming from her emerald green eyes. Asalla tries to catch her breath and sits up seeing Claw, Rex and Master Kote running up to her a few yards away. She wipes the tears off her face and stands up walking towards them.

As Gwydion walks through the gates, the soldiers of Death's Cohort stare at him, albeit unobtrusively. Some of the men on the wall take notice of the drama taking place outside the walls, and Lieutenant Angel looks through his sniper rifle's scope to track Asalla. A buzz of chatter fills the helmet of the troopers, as they look over the imposing figure in the center of the courtyard. Calinheads down from the gatehouse, taking note of the ancient sword hanging from the figure's side. "Is that you, Death?"

Gwydion turns to look at Calin as the soldier approaches to him. " Major Calin. It's been a long time since those caverns on Geonosis. I see that the Cohort has grown since my absence. " Gwydion folds his arms across his chest as he looks down on the shorter man.

Calin stops three feet away from Gwydion. "Yes, it has. Companies Charlie through Item were brought online shortly after we parted ways."

Back with the 999th Claw, Rex and Master Kote rush after Asalla through the woods. After seeing that she has stopped and turned around they get over to her. Claw: "What's wrong that you bolted away from camp?" Master Kote: "Yes, you made us scared for a second that something wrong."

Asalla looked at the ground and kicked the dirt,
Asalla: I'm fine. I guess I just....forget it; it's not important.
Asalla brushed past her master and Claw and walked back to camp. There was a slight sting behind her eyes from the tears but she forced them away and blanked her expression. She resumed setting up her tent but the memory of her parents dying replayed over and over in her mind.

After a spending a few minutes making conversation with Gwydion, Major Calin returns to the gatehouse. By this time, the sky has gone dark, the last blood red vestiges of the setting sun faded into a moonless black night. Once in the gatehouse command center, he walks over to the gate commander's center. He takes off his helmet, revealing a ruggedly handsome face, hardened by the bitterness that comes of warfare and loss, and turns to one of his lieutenants. "How's the base security looking so far, Jen?" Lieutenant Jen looks up from her data pad as she sits at the gate commander's console, her helmet resting on the desk beside her. She is pretty, with red hair trimmed in a long pixie cut. "Seems locked down, Cal. Our guests are setting their kit up outside. Erik's monitoring them from the command center." She shakes her head, swirling her short hair around her face, then reaching up and moving the stray hairs out of her face. "Hey, was that Death down there?" "Yeah, it was. Apparently after he saved our collective shebs on Geonosis and Onderon, he came back here to meditate and pass the time. Apparently Salvo woke him up briefly when we stopped at the Jedi Enclave, and then he moved into the crystal tunnels that run underneath the planet."He nods towards the gathered troops of the 999th Legion encamped around the base. "These dikuts fully woke him up when they ran into that tunnel we rigged with explosives, and started trying to single-handedly eradicate the kinrath population. For supposedly special ops clone troopers, they seem rather incompetent."

The clones finish setting up their camp site and settle down for the night. Claw and Rex stand on the sides of Master Kote as they watch the sun go down. Claw: "Ok good night General I should get some sleep." Rex: "As should I." Master Kote smiles. Master Kote: "Alright goodnight you two." As Claw and Rex head to their tent ,Master Kote stands there for a bit longer then goes to his tent.

Calin, Jen, and Kix set up a small ops center in the gatehouse, and settle in for the night. Kix takes the first watch with a number of other troopers from Sabre Unit. Calin and Jen head into the gate commander's quarters, where they remove the armor plating from their jumpsuits. Jen lies down on the bed, and quickly falls asleep. Calin sits in the only cushioned chair in the room, and reclines it. He runs through the base security cameras, and then allows himself to drift off to sleep. Around midnight, clouds form overhead, and during the next hour it begins to bucket down rain. Anyone not wearing waterproof gear would be soaked almost instantly by the torrential downpour.

Asalla watched as everyone entered their tents yet she sits outside hers with her knees pulled up to her chest. She sighed and traced shapes into the dirt. Asalla whispered to herself...
Asalla: Mom? Dad? If you're listening, I just wanted to say that I won't let your death be in vain. I will find the people responsible.
Asalla drew the face of her parents' murderer into the ground and stared at it. Then, with hatred, sadness and anger, Asalla gritted her teeth and punched the image. The ground trembled slightly beneath her but then faded after a few seconds. Asalla glanced at her fist and then back at the dirt astonished at her strength. Rubbing her forehead she turned around and crawled into her tent. Asalla laid there, but after a while, her eyelids became heavy and she drifted into a deep sleep.

The camp goes quiet as the men fall asleep besides the downfall of rain. Claw and Rex lay on their beds thinking to themselves till they eventually fall asleep.

Asalla woke up in a dream. She was back on her home planet reliving one of her memories. She and her father laughed as he tried to catch her in a naive game of tag. Then hearing her mother call for dinner, they ran inside together and sat on the floor of their small home. As Asalla and her family ate, they laughed and talked about how good life was and how prosperous they were even though they weren't the richest people. After dinner, Asalla's mother took her in to bed. Her mother told her wild stories about adventurers and heroes. (Asalla's mother wasn't your average Togruta woman.) After kissing Asalla's head, she turned and left Asalla with her thoughts of her own adventures and how one day she would become a hero, too.
Asalla's eyes opened slowly and she sat up in her tent. Rain was threatening to penetrate her shelter. She ignored it and walked outside in the downpour feeling the rain roll off her skin and onto the ground.

Lieutenant Kix stands guard duty in the gatehouse command center. He sees movement outside, and raises his rifle so he can look through the scope. Despite the distortion caused by the rain, he watches as Asalla walks out of her tent. As he watches her through the scope, and thinks; "Huh. Something must really be bugging her, to go outside in this downpour. I don't think even Spike would go out in this, even if he was out of alchohol." He turns at the sound of someone sloshing through mud in the courtyard. "Guess I was wrong about Spike..." Spike crosses the courtyard, and enters the darkened cantina. A faint clink of glass can be heard inside. Kix shakes his head in mute laughter.
