-Bateman- "Business indeed, business and a history lesson. Maybe even a product sampling. There was a long time that me and my associates have shut ourselves in, and that was a reason with it. See, our new product needed testing, and it was, tested. Then, some time of evaluation was needed, reworking and then, an improved product have arrived. Much like your empire.
In short, we would like this product tested further, in your service. I hope it is no disrespect to ask, but could we continue in a more secluded locale?"
Even though this was the hangar of the First Order, and surely their most loyal soldiers were here to protect their leaders, some things are better said... unheard.

Nicademus decides to entertain Mr. Bateman's request and motions for him to follow. It took them a long turbolift ride to a conference room on the top floor of High Port where the Supreme Commander and the envoy could speak. Once inside the conference room, Nicademus, along with his brother, Artemis would take their respective seats and offered seats to their guests. Quietly, his brother advised against this, but Nicademus was willing to hear out what the droid had to say. There was no loss in doing that.
Once the room was secured and recording devices were, allegedly, turned off, the Supreme Commander gives his undivided attention. A motion of his hand indicated that Mr. Bateman may continue to speak openly and freely about this product of that he spoke of earlier.

The droid took seat, and the yellow twilek woman took space behind him, standing and resting her hands on the back of the chair. For a second the two of them looked like the overprotective mother that lets her little son go out and stand on his own for the first time.
-Bateman Omega- "Back in the olden days, the days when there were empires in every corner of the galaxy, making it look like a badly built pie chart, there was this one that housed itself on Bastion. Its emperror, a red twilek named Matar started a project. He wanted a centralised government, but controlled by others. He needed to trust these, others. Since he lacked children, or known family, he would have to find a way to create these those that would run his empire for him, while he deals with more important issues. The idea was to create a small battalion of Human Replica Droids, to run everyday life in the Phoenix imperium.
I dont know if you have heard this story before, is it familiar?"

I have met the man you speak of, Mr. Bateman.
Nicademus remembered him all too well. When the First Order took control of Bastion, a bit of its history stirred as the founder of the Phoenix Imperium made himself known to the occupiers of that system. For long, his ships hovered over the planet. They did not disturb the First Order nor did the Imperials disturb him. In due time, Matar seemingly vanished. The last known location his fleet was bound for was the Unknown Region and, perhaps, beyond that.
And what of this project, Mr. Bateman? How does this concern the First Order?

* A black Upsilon class shuttle enters one of the lower hangers of High Port, once inside the vessel easily lands in its designated area. As the shuttles systems are powered down, the landing ramp folds down and extends to the hanger floor. The Hand of the First Order exits the shuttle, his long strides making it look as if he glided across the floor. Only the lower half of his face can be seen from under his raised hood, which gives some of the hanger personnel a sense of ease. For many of the lower class military had only heard stories of the Supreme Commander's most trusted enforcer and the thought of making eye contact with such a man sent chills down most.
As Thrakk walks forward he can feel the presence of those around him become distracted and soon the air seems to filled with superstitious fear, his reputation had now far proceeded him since the last time he had been to the capital. Coming up to a set of turbo lift doors, Thrakk motions for the in charge hanger officer to come forward before he enters the lift. As the young Naval Officer stands at attention before him, Thrakk speaks and hands the young man a data card.*
" Keep the shuttle ready to go at moments notice, this hanger is now under my authority. All access codes are there on the data card "

What he doesn't tell the him is that Thrakk was doing in this in case a last resort escape exit was needed for the Supreme Commander from High Port,. Lambri walked briskly to the FO Command centre aboard the High Port, and registers to speak with the Supreme Commander. Glancing quickly at the datachart carried by Delvardus' aide, she could see that he was currently occupied in some meeting. Juvex Industries. As she waited, she scoured her memory for information on Juvex. Not that she had intel to pass on, or any real interest in the meeting, it was just a part of her past that she couldn't readily turn off. The information was vague, but she was certain that some of her fighter corps had mentioned Juvex in the past. Just names in passing in the briefing room, or around the poker table. Thugs. Dealers. Con-men. She wondered for a moment what her father would have said about Juvex. She missed him. Thinking no further about the name 'Bateman' or the company 'Juvex Industries -- instead asking the aide if there was any word on the crew of the 'Georgian.' And then she waited. And waited. She sat in an ante-room until instructed further.

His eyes look up, seeing from afar the ships in question as they were tugged off to Yaga Minor for much needed repairs. Nicademus glances at the report once more before setting it down.Captain Lambri, explain why your fleet looks like they just returned from the frontlines. Our records indicate that you were set on patrol and escort duty, not frontline services. I want every detail you can give me as to why I was told of your fleets condition. If there was one notable virtue about Nicademus it was that he was slow to anger and for a good reason. Anger always muddied good judgment and a sound mind. Genuinely, the Imperial desired to hear the full story of the state of the Captain's fleet before even considering anything else.

Welp. This just got a whole lot more claustrophobic. Lord Valinor, as well as the Supreme Commander? Maybe not so much a debriefing, as a firing squad... Lambri saluted the Supreme Commander when he entered, and bowed slightly at the waist to Lord Valinor, maintaining every aspect of respect for their positions. Straightening her tunic, the Grand Captain began her debrief:
Supreme Commander Delvardus. Lord Valinor. My escort fleet -- four Vic II's, my ship - the Pulsar, the Momentum II, Terror VI, and Fearsome, and three Vindicators, the Arrowhead, Telos III, and Georgian, were in high elliptical over Dubrillion as ordered, flanking Kartzela. I had just returned from a department heads meeting aboard the Prison vessel, when an attack fleet jumped in-system. Supreme Commander -- the fleet was by all accounts First Order. They were comprised of a Centurion Class Cruiser, a Nebula-Class Star Destroyer, two Vic II's, two Vindicators, at least three Marauder-class frigates, and -- I think, sir -- a MedStar class frigate. I know the protocols... she swallows, knowing her tactical error but allowed the ships to approach to within firing range. They jumped in, and opened fire without warning. It was an ambush, Sir, by a force with much greater firepower at their disposal. We disabled three of their craft, and our fighters gave a good accounting of themselves, but there was simply too much to contend with. I lost most of my firepower in the opening volley, and it only got worse from there. It became apparent in the very short, brutal exchange that the enemy commander's target was the prison ship. And so, Sir -- after warning the Kartzela's crew and giving as much time as I dared for them to abandon ship, we fired on the prison vessel, to scuttle her. Ultimately, Sir -- she reads this last part from a data pad, visibly struggling with some of the cold, hard facts -- 'Kartzela' lost, last seen afire, broken-backed and drifting. 110 crew retrieved. Six prisoners. 'Arrowhead' and 'Telos III' lost. Combined 1378 crew retrieved. No bridge officers. Varying injuries. 'Momentum II' and 'Fearsome' lost. Combined total of 2275 crew retrieved, including the 'Fearsome' 2nd officer, Carter. Forty-four fighters lost. 'Georgian' and 'Terror VI,' negative combat capability. Sir.
She was silent a moment, as the dust settled, and breathed a heavy, ragged breath, before remembering something to add.
Oh -- begging your pardon Supreme Commander -- there was a transmission. I sent to commander of the lead ship, the Centurion Class. Tip of their spear, damning him as a coward for firing on us, and he actually replied. The voice was mechanical... or mechanically-assisted. I don't recall it all, but he turned my label of cowardice around... called it ambition. Said we were in the wrong place, wrong time. That it was nothing personal, but that HIS work had to continue. Gave us the offer of surrender, if we let him have what he wanted, he might consider sparing our lives. To which I gave him a full barrage. Sir.
She redoubled her at-attention posture, signifying her brief was completed. Now, it was up to the two most powerful men in the First Order to reply. She tried not to think about the possibilities.

Mechanical voice, spoke of research and had a Centurion-class Cruiser in his arsenal. All records on file immediately pointed at one person that Nicademus surely knew was behind this. The High Admiral, Viox Savage, had warned about this character before and it took till now that something drastic happened. At best, the Supreme Commander labeled Cain as a mad genius and an ambitious one. First the betrayal among the Imperial Knights and now this... his list of allies among the force users was growing smaller, forcing Nicademus to rely more upon the Knights of Ren and a few select individuals. He still maintained his relations with the Imperial Knights as the recent incident was more isolated than the one that occurred upon their arrival to Muunilist.
You were expertly deceived, Captain Lambri. I do not doubt your testament and know of who you speak of. This will be handled from here on by Military Intelligence. I only ask that you and your crew forget this incident and keep it off the records. And the next time you run into this person, keep your distance. I have seen what he is capable of... and it is wise not to cross paths with him.
He would have to speak with High Admiral Savage about how to handle what had just transpired, but it will have to wait for another time. For now, there were more important matters set upon the table involving certain plans that were ready to be set in motion. The Supreme Commander needed all those he could gather for the next coming days in order to expertly perform these tasks. Despite this incident, the Supreme Commander felt that Captain Lambri was still a valuable asset to the First Order.
Will you need replacements for your losses, Captain Lambri, or will you handle that yourself?

Understood, Supreme Commander.
Evi took in what the the young, severe man before her was saying, and maybe more importantly, what Lord Thrakk was not saying. That unnerved her, but Delvardus' reply seemed neutral enough. The Commander's last words were unexpected to Lambri. She hadn't anticipated having choice in the matter. She thought quickly and carefully about the matter. No doubt the Supreme Commander would be pleased if she were capable enough to take care of finding her own replacements, but she was not a wealthy woman. There was a lot 'between the lines' in Nicademus' question. She wouldn't be buying any Star Destroyers out of her own pocket, if that's what he was asking.
Sir -- I am content to recruit from the general rank & file for personnel. The Pulsar is a good ship, and both the Georgian and Terror will be repaired. I haven't been given estimates, but it would be safe to predict battle-readiness and short in-system trials at Yaga Minor within the month. But my few ships are not a fleet, sir. And they are all -- begging the Supreme Commander's pardon -- old, and outclassed. To return the group to an effective fighting force, Supreme Commander, would require the addition of two to three vessels. Or the folding in of our remaining ships into an existing group, Sir.
Lambri wasn't telling Nicademus anything he didn't likely already know. And wasn't sure what the outcome would be. She wasn't looking to seek gain -- personal or otherwise -- from a loss such as the defeat over Dubrillion. And she sincerely hoped that she had sounded sufficiently positive about any and all possibilities -- including the loss of her own escort group, and being folded into a home group -- that the Supreme Commander would see she was more than willing to play by whatever rules he saw fit to bestow. Still -- the thought of commanding an Impstar Deuce made her mouth water, and she licked her lips in anticipation, ambition lighting a fire behind her eyes...

Nicademus chuckles lightly, at the remark of Lambria's fleet being old and outclassed.
Old and outclassed, Captain? My own fleet still utilizes Victory IIs and Vindicators, even my flagship is an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer. A great number of the First Order's armada still utilizes the mainstream ships of our predecessors. Because they are still reliable. Nonetheless, Captain, I understand your words.
The Supreme Commander picks up an idle datapad and begins to tapping away upon the screen. If the Captain felt she needed more ships, then Nicademus would approve of such an order to replenish her fleet. Thankfully, a present contract with KDY ensured that the shipyards at Bilbringi and Yaga Minor could produce the needed warships to keep the First Order fighting strong and that the fleet was maintained. He keys the order to be sent for Yaga Minor's shipyard committee that oversaw any orders sent by the First Order High Command.
I have given you authorization to utilize Yaga Minor shipyards in order to replenish your fleet, Captain Lambri. Thanks to the contracts with Kuat Drive Yards as well as cooperation with Chiss shipwrights, you will have plenty of options in which to choose from to rebuild your fleet as you see fit, Captain. All of which will be paid for by the state, in gratitude, nonetheless, for your services.

I am honoured, Supreme Commander, and a little taken aback, to be honest. I will have the Escort fleet back to fighting strength by months' end, Supreme Commander. Any additional orders at this time?
She felt the cold, sharp glare of Thrakk staring at her, through her, and she glanced his way momentarily, but out of reverence for the Supreme Commander, returned her eyes to his after only a few seconds. Thrakk... unnerved her, a little. That may have been the point. But she'd be damned if he's see her sweat.

Yes there is...
He returns his eyes to Captain Lambri. The time had come for one of his planned operations to begin.
Within the next day or so, I will be heading for the Core region with a single ship. Lord Thrakk will be accompanying me as well as others I have invited. You are among those I will extend an invitation to. Do you accept, Captain?

I do, Supreme Commander. Thank you. If it pleases, sir, I will return in the short term to the Pulsar to see that preparations are underway, and repairs are being expedited. After passing on to my number two the orders and expectations for the duration of our absence, I can have my gear packed and have a shuttle deliver me before embarking.
Lambri wondered what it was that the Supreme Commander would be doing, taking a single vessel to the core. And why she was needed to be a part of it. But all good things to those who wait...

Whilst her brothers and sister were all off on missions to other worlds or attending to other business, Atlantia Ren had been left behind on Muunilinst. A large part of it, was due to her relationship with Azria and Nicademus. Unlike Harnan, she was more than capable of working with the duo. Thus, it ended up that she was usually left to work with them more closely. Today was no different, as she made her way from the shuttle bay to the meeting room where Nicademus currently was with his hand, Thrakk Valinor, and an Imperial Grand Captain, Evikay Lambri. Unlike the Imperial, Atlantia did not wait to be admitted to the room, merely sneaking in through the door and standing by the door. Her short height meant that she went unnoticed in most places until she made herself known or someone who knew her sensed her presence

Landing at his designated hangar, Savage powered down the craft and disembarked, smoothing the front of his uniform as he walked. Within several minutes of departing his ship, he was on arriving at the conference where everyone was meeting with the Supreme Commander. Due to his stature among the Order, he simply marched into the room. He took note of those present. The short, female Knight of Ren, Thrakk Valinor, Nicademus' right hand, and the distinguished Imperial Grand Captain, Evikay Lambri. Savage snorted in disgust as he noticed the female Ren. He despised their order and everything they stood for. The very fact that they existed irritated him. But, having the discipline to ignore them, he did just that. As he approached, he inclined his head to the Captain, acknowledging her. He then shifted his gaze over to the Supreme Commander. Snapping to attention, he popped off a crisp salute.
"Supreme Commander, sir!"
Oh, how he hated doing that. Regardless, he had to follow protocol. He held his salute until he was acknowledged.

The High Admiral relaxed his posture. He frowned at the news that his former apprentice was willfully attacking Imperial targets. Flexing his jaw, he spoke.
"Cain had never been one to follow the rules. And since Csilla, it would seem he has slipped further into madness. Spending as many years as he has, obsessing over that...abomination has warped his mind. I will keep my eye on him. Perhaps knowing that I am looking over his shoulder may reign him in."
Savage too, remembered the horrors Cain had wrought upon Csilla. Horrors that Viox had to clean up. That resulted in the final schism between master and apprentice. From that point on, Cain and Viox had drifted apart. The Supreme Commander's question brought him back to the present.
"Iridonia's acquisition and assimilation into the First Order proceeded smoothly. Iridonia stands ready to serve the Order." Viox then cleared his throat. "Jabiim is slightly less successful. While I succeeded in holding the line and driving the Alliance back, several of the mines were collapsed. It will take months to get Jabiim back up to full operational capacity. Though I do think that the bloody massacre of so many rebel insurgents will give this Alliance a moment's pause." Pausing for a moment, he allowed those reports to sink in. He then proceeded. "If the intelligence gathered from the Jabiim rebels is any indication, Taris is likely to be their next target. As a preventative measure, the entirety of my fleet has been dispatched."
Savage peered onwards as he spoke, reciting the brief summaries of each campaign since his last visit to Muunilinst.
