The day starts like any other. A nudge to awaken, refresher, put on his traditional Jedi robes and begin the routine of helping with the day to day workings at the praxeum and still have time to train, watch old Holorecordings of His Master and him fighting and improve on techniques. He sees a training fix to hi s reaction time if he would just immerse himself in the living force. He makes a note on his holopad when he feels it.... He stops in his tracks and turns off his datapad. THe sensation is startling as is the revelation...
His Master is on Ossus and alive. It is a feeling he has known and understood why he left for the jungles of Ossus and knew the man would return to train him more...it was a certainty within the force. WIt the battles raging from the First Order, he wonders will he and his Master return to help his fellow Jedi combat such a scourge of the darkside? He only ponders this as he reaches out to him through the force.....

Talon Smiles. The first in a long time. He will soon see his Master and learn more from him. In reality, He hopes to see his long-time friend and enjoy their time together ...learning from each other. Him more than anyone. He sees the news come over from the net on the First Order's progress. His mind shifts to thoughts on those on the planet.- Interrupting his focus. He hopes that the Jedi will be able to rout the First Order out of the system.

As Devlin strode through the Praxeum doors, a smirk tugs his lips.
The place remained much the way he remembered it. Perhaps a few less students than when he went into the wilderness to meditate and decipher the will of the Force, but that bothered the Jedi not at all. Ossus had always been a small community.
He closes his eyes and allows his feet to guide him toward the familiar presence burning in his mind like a beacon. He trails his fingers against the stone wall as he walks down the corridor; the coolness of the stone a relief after walking under the hot Ossan suns.
There was much to be done, if the Jedi had the strength to do it. He forced the doubt and fear from his mind, settling his thoughts. He knew, at least as well as anyone, what would be, would be. No matter how one wished to change it.

Talon feels a disturbance in the force. The last he felt this, it was in the presence of his Master Devlin Dewe. "Could it be?" His thoughts race as there is so much to say. He takes a calming breath as he slows his pace. The presence is coming towards...him? "It must be..." He lets slip through his lips. His Master...is here. He walks over to the office that still has Devlin's name on the door. He calmly waits at the entrance. He is confident he will see his Master again. There is much to fill him in on...and an unknown amount of time to do it in.

Devlin stretches out with his feelings, allowing all of the Praxeum to wash over him. The time away has done him good, but perhaps it is time for him to return...if it is the will of the Force that he should do so. Devlin smiles and walks through the corridors to his old office. His name still etched on the door. Through the doorway, he can tell the interior is just as he left it. He smirks. "Hello, Talon." Devlin steps into the room and clasps his hands behind his back. His dark brown eyes glimmer with mirth but, also, a subtle sadness. He has been too long away.

The Padawan bows to the Battlemaster Good morning. I believe you should be caught up first before I say I am happy to see you. Talon follows Devlin right into the office and transmits the data to his datapad laying on the desk. Indeed it has been too long but, "A Jedi's life is sacrifice." He hopes that Devlin can sense that the words he said were true. To him, Devlin has returned right on time...he hopes the same for the order.

*As the Horizon-class star yacht sailed over the forested world of Ossus, the Praxeum and Library coming into view.* "There they are," *Aerandir announced, pointing with one finger at the edifices.* "They've been through a lot, but have managed to recover every time. A testament to the will of the Jedi spirit." *He withdrew his hand and ran it over his mouth as he mumbled,* "A perfect place for enrichment, I suppose."
*Michelle frowned.* "Why'd you mumble that?"
"Hm?" *He looked over his shoulder at her, briefly up at the ceiling, then back at her with a smile.* "I was mostly thinking to myself, but I guess it applies to both of you as well."
*She smirked.* "I knew it. You're just here on that little crystal quest of yours."
*He feigned a defensive grimace, raising his hand to match.* "Only partially! Sure, it's the reason I was coming here in the first place, but I thought, 'why not bring Mina along as part of her training'?"
"Suuuuuuuuure..." *Michelle, still smirking, folded her arms, looking pleased with herself and amused at her brother.
Aerandir looked around at Mina, who, while otherwise silent, was smiling, clearly humored by the exchange.
The ship made its way into the Praxeum hangar, finding a designated landing pad and gently setting down within. Aerandir powered down the ship and the family gathered their things for their likely-brief stay before heading out. They had packed light, mostly just clothes and their weapons, the latter of which hanging from their belts: Aerandir's and Michelle's lightsabers, Mina's retractable betaplast staff. Aerandir shouldered the clothing bag himself and the three of them descended the ramp into the Ossus hangar. They took a moment to look around at their new surroundings before departing the hangar and heading into the Praxeum proper...*

* Setting his StealthX down at the designated landing pad, Aeryn turns the shut down protocols over to his astromech droid as he opens the cockpit. Exiting the fight, the young Jedi Knight gathers his dark brown cloak about him and heads into the Praxeum.
His mind is filled with old memories of the Praxeum as Aeryn walks down the vaulted halls. Images replay through his eyes of the Jedi he once knew walking the halls next to him, he can see himself at a younger age walking alongside his Master, and remembers what it used to feel like to have joy and....but before more memories and emotions could fill him, he shuts them out. For they were emotions and memories of a time long ago that he knew he did not deserve to relish in.
Making his way deeper into the Praxeum, Aeryn comes to the entrance of the great library and enters. *

* After exiting the library, Aeryn compiles his findings on to a small data stick and also records a message along with it advising on the threat that the First Order has become and that many ex-Jedi have turned to serve their cause. He records some more information then heads towards the communications center inside the Praxeum *

The sight was... devastating. Lucien had heard of the devastation, but to witness it with his own eyes was a true tragedy. The shuttles circled a few times, examining the total wreckage and searching for a good spot to land. Eventually, a landing zone was chosen. The Duke stepped out of his shuttle in disbelief, gazing up at the ruins of the Praxeum. He slowly knelt down, reaching to picking up a scarred piece of stone, blasted by the firepower of the Resurgent-class Battlecruiser. His gloved hand lightly brushed the stone, exhaling deeply as the nobleman rose. Behind him, several retainers gathered, watching their lord.
=Malvern Retainer= My Lord?
Lucien turns behind him, glancing at his retainers.
She will be rebuilt. She will be glorious again! She will... she will stand once more as she once did.
The Jedi says as he turns back, gazing at the blasted ruins of the Temple.
And not only the Temple, but Knossa and the whole of the planet! We will revive her and make her shine again!
Smiles greeted the Duke. His retainers could feel the fire within Lucien's words and knew that he would keep his promises.

Lucien stood, at a distance, looking at the scarred and tattered ruins of the Jedi Praxeum. His engineering crews were going about checking the damage and surveying how to best rebuild the location. The Duke was keen to see the symbol of Ossus be rebuilt in a timely manner. It's rebuilt status would help in recruiting the local population, namely the Neri and Ysanna, all of whom the Jedi Lords would have to make treaties with and encourage to help in the future of this cause. Not only that, but it could also serve as a premier location for the promising and talented of Serenno. A way to improve the prestige and reputation of House Malvern and the associated vassals.
It was to be a long progress. The Duke noted the rebuilding of Ossus' temple, new treaties with the locals, but there was more to that. He would need to find those, not only among the ranks of his vassals, but those among his peers that would be best suited to run the Praxeum as teachers and educators. This was not to be just a step for his reputation, but it was meant to be a benefit for all the Jedi Lords. A place where the future of their faction would be well-trained and molded to help with their cause. It was a long road ahead, but Lucien was confident in seeing it come to fruition.

As the integration of Ossus progressed, so did the resources of the Jedi Lords begin to flow into the planet. Resources that were used in vital projects to revive Ossus and secure its role with the new faction that controlled it. A prominent target of renovations and restorations was the Jedi Praxeum. Already, Duke Malvern, self-proclaimed Protector of the Praxeum, had gathered a staff of native and foreign Jedi advisers and masters to serve as a leadership for the location's future. This committee, as they were labeled, would ensure a steady recruitment and enrollment of force sensitive individuals that could enter the Praxeum and find a place among the ranks of the Jedi Lords.
Majority would be guaranteed a place as a retainer and knight of a nobleman, through the educational curriculum of the revived academy. Those who performed above others would have the chance to gain a noble rank and a land grant in recognition of their achievements and motivation. These were incentives to help motivate the students and give the clarity that the social ladder of the Jedi Lords was open to all. There no limits, no boundaries, no requirements beyond merit, dedication, and loyalty. Those who embodied these values would find that the doors were open and ready for them to walk though. Even then, those who were skilled and determined would still find a place within society.

Dar'Toral closed his eyes and breathed deeply through his large nostrils, taking in the mountain air. Clean, pure, bracing, he had always loved the air here. It was where K'Mogh had begun his training, their first stop after they left Coyn. Those early explanations of the Force, the physical training, It was here that he had been reforged from a young hot-blooded Kroyn into a champion of the Light.
It was here the would train Riyo, just as K'Mogh had trained him. He stood straight and proud over a railing, his hands clasped behind his back, his armor freshly polished, his many braids adorned with clasps of silver, awaiting his padawan to join him for her first official day of training.

This place was very different from the battlegrounds that had thus far been her training arenas. Most obviously, there were no soldiers, or battle droids, or corpses around. The air smelled crisp and clean, instead of bloody and dusty. The weather was brisk instead of muggy. All in all, she liked it much better, though her clean new padawan robes could be warmer.
She found her Master standing resolute and proud as he always did, surveying the landscape like a farmer full of pride.
Silently, she came to standstill beside him. A training saber hung from the sash that kept her robes more or less secure and functional on her slight frame. “Master,” she offered by way of greeting.

Dar sensed her presence before he heard her, and when she greeted him he spoke, still looking out over the landscape. There were parts of Coyn that he found himself reminded of when he looked upon the wilderness of Ossus. "You did well Riyo Cho. you comported yourself with dignity and courage under fire, which is rare for a young one with their first taste of battle. I am proud of you." Dar turned to look at her, her new training saber and fresh new robes making her begin to look like the jedi she was hoping. to become. "Tell me Riyo Cho, what was your first experience with the Force?"

Her Master’s question was simple, but the answer was more complicated.
“Generally, I’ve been aware of the Force for as long as I can remember. My family, the Cho family, have revered it for generations,” she explained, “and they make sure to teach their children about it early on.”
“More personally,” she continued, a wry smile hinting at the corners of her mouth, ”my experiences with the Force started the week before Master Aleri showed up to bring me to Corellia.” Her voice became softer, more introspective as she elaborated, “My brother and I were playing a game of Dejarik in my father’s study. I was winning, which is unusual, so I was very excited. My father asked for a book, and—without a thought—I sent the book he was asking for right into his hands.”
She still remembered how odd it felt: the sudden awareness of where, exactly, the book was; the intangible pull as she plucked it from the shelf; the push as she sent it towards her father fast enough to be efficient, but gentle enough so he could catch it without exerting any effort. And she remembered how drained she felt afterwards, as though she’d used some muscle she hadn’t known existed.

Dar made a small grunt of acknowledgement, accidental discovery was normal but in his experience it was usually under duress rather than calm. "I first felt the force as a young warrior on the sands of the Rols'Kus in En'Tra'Tal. I, as many young warriors eager to prove their worth, entered the kus'nar and dreamed of becoming Tawws'Kroyn. I was dueling against Tra'Tuag Kt'Aya, and he was having the better of it. He used the spike of his coyn'skar to trip me, and I lost my grip on my own. In desperation to avoid defeat, I cast out with the force, throwing him onto the sand. I rose and forced him to yield with the same d'skar I lent to you. It was my first fight, and with that victory I became a Kroyn, and then found my way to the Jedi." He turned to face her. "It is impressive that you first felt the Force in a place of calm. Most I've known were in some danger or another, and thus struggled to find the force in a quiet and deliberate way. There is great potential in you Riyo Cho. Such precise use of telekinesis for one untrained is remarkable. We will develop this. Have you any questions for me?"

The Praxeum had become more alive since the Jedi Lords took over administrating the world. The academy's patron, Duke Malvern, ensured that the location was made ideal for the younger generations. This was in comparison to Yavin's Praxeum which was designated for the older and more experienced. As such, Padawans from across all sorts of backgrounds filled the halls of Ossus' academy. From lowly orphans to the children of Jedi Lords, all were accepted and welcomed. Headmaster Ras, an Arkanian Jedi Master, administrated the Praxeum and looked after both mentors and teachers.
As such, the planet received regular visits from the Duke of Fiyarro and Lord of Ossus, Lucien Malvern, who sought to be involved with the future generations of Jedi. He had a keen interest in Ossus, which was legally a part of his domain as Duke. The Lord Commander came recently to survey the recent Ysanna activities by hostile tribes, examine the expansion and modernization of Knossa, and see to the cultivation of relations with the natives of Ossus that were friendly. He came to the Praxeum, after some meetings, to review the Praxeum which was full of life now.
The Duke walked in, with the Headmaster having greeted him at the entrance, and with an entourage of nobles of all sorts of races, including some Ysanna natives. Malvern paused at the entry way. Much better now and no longer neglected. Lucien smiles, seeing some students walk by and head to the grounds at the foot of the academy. The air felt much more at ease now with the Praxeum having a purpose again.

She looked up at her Master, and recognized the strength in him; though, like a rubber band stretched taught, it was held in stillness. She did not have to know the Coynite for very long at all to know that a part of him lived for battle. She’d seen his prowess in-person, and the joy with which he wielded it. And it was marvelous. But upon seeing this tension in him so artfully held in check, she thought this was the greater triumph. And she wondered: would she bear her own strength so gracefully? Blinking, she shook her head at her Master’s question. But then, like a dam bursting, the questions she’d harbored since the day she stepped off that ship on Corellia came out of her in a flood: “How does one develop such skills? How long will it take? What if I don’t buy into the spirituality of being Jedi? Can I still learn to master my abilities? Will I be expected to live as a Jedi, regardless of my life spent growing into a politician? Are politics and the Force even compatible?” Dar'Toral

What if I don’t buy into the spirituality of being Jedi? Can I still learn to master my abilities? Will I be expected to live as a Jedi, regardless of my life spent growing into a politician? Are politics and the Force even compatible?” Dar'Toral Dar'Toral chuckled with a surprising warmth, given his gruff exterior. He remembered his own boiling curiosity as K'Mogh had asked him the same question he had asked her"One thing at a time Riyo Cho, you've only taken the first step on a long and arduous journey. All things take as long as they take, your progress comes from your discipline and focus, as well as the will of the force. For what it is worth, you have shown me much in the time we've had so far. As for spirituality, The Force exists and moves within us all, your personal belief in it notwithstanding. The spirit of the Force will find you, and in time you will learn what it means to you. Living as a Jedi is your choice, though I would first suggest you think on what it is you believe living as a Jedi entails. Finally, the last is a question every Jedi must explore for themselves. For some it is a natural fit, and once upon a time Jedi ruled worlds justly and well, but temporal power can be more intoxicating by far then the strongest spice. For others, the obligations of power interfere with their ability to do what they feel Jedi must do." He smiled at her, revealing his large teeth, and chuckled again. Her questions were nearly identical to those he had asked K'Mogh, and not for the first time he thanked the old whiphid for his wisdom and grace."You need not dedicate yourself to the Warrior's Way, as I have, but you may find that it suits you. Or not, Jedi are many things to many people."
