She nodded, taking her Master’s words seriously.
Riyo still did not know what she wanted to do. And the long, arduous battle her Master had guided her through had done nothing to make her choice easier.
Just as she imagined, it had only turned her into a fighter, a soldier. And just as she imagined, her growing familiarity with the Force only seemed to compliment that, even as it insisted on pacifism and serenity. And the Jedi that fought alongside her were just as confusing: their mouths said all the right-sounding things, but—to her mind—there was only one thing that a lightsaber was meant to do. There was only one thing all of the rigorously studied fighting styles were meant to do.
She’d been raised differently. Before her experience as a padawan, she had learned to defend herself as any politician's daughter might. Outside of that, however, she never even had to look at a weapon, much less wield one. Her father taught her that her words would be enough.
And yet, as soon as her powers manifested, her world shrank to revolve around combat. Combat for the ‘right reasons,’ maybe, but people still died. Some by her own hands.
She looked down at her hands. Both of them rested so gently on the railing she and her Master were leaning against. Hard to imagine that, just a short while ago, they wielded d’skar and blaster to lethal effect.
But here, her Master was telling her that the ‘Warrior’s Way’ was not the only way. Did she believe him? Did she believe the Force?
Maybe this training would help her find an answer.
“Tell me, Master. What must I do?”

Dar approached Riyo and placed his hand on her shoulder, giving her what he hoped was a reassuring smile, and took his hand away. "That is something only you can discover, through your relationship to the Force. All I can teach you is how to start walking that path. For now, follow." He turned and walked away, his hands clasped behind his back. He led her across the grounds to a well kept meditation garden. Within was a flat rock in a circle of standing stones, amid an orchard of trees from various places in the galaxy and he motioned to the rock. "Have a seat, Riyo Cho, make yourself as comfortable as possible. "

The weight of his hand on her shoulder quieted her racing thoughts, if nothing else. She fell into step behind him, taking respite and pleasure from the surroundings.
It had taken a while for her to get used to the non-Pantoran aesthetic: all these seemingly unused open spaces used to unnerve her. But finally, after being exposed to them for long enough, she thought she understood their significance. All of the extra space was meant to give a person enough room to sort through their internal spaces, and one could derive a lot of peace from the doing. It was an especially important aesthetic detail, given that Jedi were supposed to be the masters of their emotions. And the subtlety in which such a tool was employed impressed her deeply. Her mother would be fascinated to learn such a thing.
But finally, her Master stopped and motioned for her to continue into a ring of standing stones that stood at the heart of an orchard. Ignoring her curiosity in regard to the various trees around her, she did as she was bid.
As she settled atop the stone, she found it surprisingly comfortable. No doubt smoothed by countless padawans and masters before her.
“Is this where you begin teaching me the ancient and mystical art of meditation?” The flippant question was out of her mouth before she realized. Flushing, she tried hard to keep herself from smiling—or worse, laughing.

Dar laughed, a great bellowing laugh. "When I first began my training, I sat on the same rock. I thought much the same thing as you, but I lacked the open nature you have. It is strange how these things go. At any rate, no I will not teach you that art, for that is a lesson you must teach yourself. I may only guide you to that knowledge. Clear your mind Riyo Cho, and find your center." Dar held up a fruit and cut pieces off of it with his d'skar, smiling as he at them. "At your convenience, of course."

Her attempts at not-smiling failed as soon as she heard her Master’s laughter. She had not been expecting him to be so relaxed. But his answer sobered her, and turned her thoughts inward once more.
She closed her eyes because that seemed to be the thing to do. But then… she just sat there.
Clear your mind, she thought to herself. But instead, she found herself going over the day’s events. What did so-and-so’s tone imply when she said what she said? How many trees were there in this orchard, and where had each one come from? How long would they be staying here? Were there any other padawans here to talk to? Was it even okay for padawans to get to know each other?
And then her robes started to itch, which alerted her to the fact that her left foot was falling asleep, which somehow made her nose itch, then her scalp, and then it was all she could do to remain sitting still.
“Ugh!” She finally exclaimed, jumping up off of the rock as though she’d been electrocuted. “It’s impossible!”

Dar was sitting beneath a tree, a dwarf wroshyr if memory served, and had not yet finished his fruit when she sprang up, and he chuckled again, before finishing his last bite. "Lasted longer than I did, my first try. Again, Riyo Cho. Feel the force around you. Feel how it connects you to the stone, to the pillars, to me, to the trees, to the bird in the meluuron tree 30 yards behind and to the left of me. All of it. Do you know the essential difference in a padawan like yourself and a master such as K'Mogh?" He drew his d'skar and began to take a whetstone to it's edge. "The master has failed more times than the padawan has even tried. Again."

Tala stared out the view-port, her eyes catching the shine of the bronzium reflecting the light as she sat up straight and watched the city rush by. It was quite different to Corellia where she had spent a good part of her life, definitely seemed as if there were less people about and the buildings themselves were less imposing, but it was still interesting to see different cities around the galaxy as it gave an incite into the many different cultures. But Tala wasn’t here just to enjoy the view, she was currently seated on a transport heading for the Jedi Praxeum. Her former Master, an old Jedi Twi’Lek who had refused to share his name, had sent her here saying that it would likely do her a lot of benefit, although Tala knew it was just because her old Master hadn’t liked her at all.
There had been many differences in their opinions, and it didn’t help that both parties were very stubborn. They had been tied to their beliefs and her Master had been focused on bringing peace, not liking combat of any sort. In fact he had chosen to get rid of his lightsaber! Apparently wanting to fight wasn’t the ‘Jedi way’, whatever that was meant to mean, but what the Twi’Lek hadn’t accounted for was that there was no way Tala was just going to sit around meditating when she could be out there fighting to protect those who needed it. The whole reason she had even agreed to stick around with the Jedi in the first place was because she wanted to help people, however she had been given the wrong Master and their differences had caused many fights over the year she had been under his tutelage. But still Tala had to admit it did hurt a little to have been sent away from the Jedi Order like this even if she had disliked them, especially since it was just because her talents lay in being physically strong and being a good lightsaber duellist. She sighed as she rested her head against the window and closed her eyes for a second. Although her demeanour definitely didn't show it part of her was excited to be here, it gave her an opportunity to grow into the warrior she knew she was to become, but she could also feel the apprehension. What if the Jedi Lords didn’t accept her either? Then what was she meant to do, be on her own? There was no way she was going back to the Jedi Order, that would be way to damaging to her pride. But still she hoped she could find a name for herself here, especially since fitting in had never been her strong suit.
The transport began to slow down, they were clearly near to their destination and after a few moments it came to a halt. As she stood she hoisted her backpack over her left shoulder and moved towards the exit in one swift motion- it was time to meet these Jedi Lords she had heard so much about. She advanced towards the large building which rose up in front of her, pyramid-like in structure. It was different to the Enclave in Coronet city, that training area had had large shields protecting it and it had basically been a large box shape with a couple of wings coming off on either side. But Tala had travelled to quite a few different planets during her time as an initiate and Padawan, so she had come across many other triangular buildings like this one. She reached out through the force like she had been taught to do to sense her surroundings and instantly she could feel the overwhelming light of this place. It was quite peaceful as well, something which was different to what she had heard about the Lords. Apparently they were much more militarised than the Jedi Order, but so far she couldn’t see any indication of that, she’d have to wait and see if what she had been taught about them was true.
After reaching the building she entered and looked around as she wasn’t sure if anyone was going to be here to meet her. If not she would just have to find a Jedi, she had seen many outside, and ask them a couple of questions.

Baron Drace Berand was a Human Male originally hailing from Alderaan, but his experience as an instructor at a number of Jedi Academies earned him a place at the Ossus Academy. He had been granted a small estate nearby on the outskirts of Knossa, allowing him to tend to the lands he was charged with and train the next generation of Jedi and Jedi Lords. On this particular day, he was currently free from his usual teaching duties as a new batch of incoming Students were expected to arrive. While his colleagues were busy handling several groups that had formed together, Drace made his way toward the lone girl who seemed a little lost.
As he drew close to the girl, he brought his right arm across his torso and gave a short bow to the new arrivalGreetings and welcome to the Ossus Academy little one... I am Baron Berand, one of the instructors here, and am I correct in guessing you are one of our new arrivals?

Tala was a little surprised as a human approached and gave her a small bow. He appeared to be an instructor of some sort but at any rate hopefully he could help her out. He introduced himself as Baron Berand and Tala gave a small nod, unsure if she was supposed to give a bow in return to show respect, but then again showing respect wasn't exactly her forte. “My names Tala Vale and yes you are correct. I was sent here by the Jedi back on Corellia, where should I go?”. After a couple of seconds she smiled for good measure, hopefully she hadn’t made any mistakes with this first interaction.

Drace had vague memories of the Corellian Jedi, having visited there once some years ago. They were certainly an interesting lot with very unique personalities compared to some of the rest of the Order. He offered Tala a reassuring smile then It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance Miss Vale. Technically you don't really have to go anywhere, since you're already here... But, if you're interested, I could offer you a brief tour before the induction ceremony begins? We have a little bit of time to kill...

Tala relaxed a little as he smiled back at her , at least that was a good sign. "Thank you. And yes a quick tour would be good, I should probably know my way around if I'm expected to stay here for a while..."

Excellent! This way Miss Vale... Drace clapped his hands together before offering a bow and motioned in the direction for Tala to follow. While the others were busying occupying the main hall and several lobbies, Drace guided Tala to a medium sized memorial hall with several murals depicting the Jedi Lord's formation When the Jedi Lords arrived to Ossus, the Great Library and this Praxeum had been heavily bombarded and damaged by a group known as the Knights of Ren, and the City had fallen into a state of neglect. Since then, the Lord's have conducted significant reconstruction works, while adding this Memorial Hall, to detail the founding of the modern day Jedi Lords... Over here is a mural depicting Serenno, the world upon which the Order was founded as several independent Jedi started rising up against the darkness that had gripped the planet. Warlords, Tyrants, and Dark Jedi had setup their own fiefdoms, but all of them were quelled by these Jedi... Here is the Battle of Saffia, where the founders of the Jedi Lords first banded together and fought the Dark Jedi known as Larcener... Saffia suffered horrible wounds, but the Jedi Lords defeated the Larcener and formed their Order. For them, the Jedi Order was too complacent and unwilling to take the leadership that was needed. While the Jedi Order are peace keepers, the Jedi Lords are protectors that are ready and willing to lead the fight against the darkest threats across the Galaxy... Since then, the Jedi Lords have begun to spread their influence across this sector of space while allying with the Jedi themselves. Knowing that together they could stand stronger than alone... He finally stopped talking and turned toward Tala after leading a tour around the Hall I apologize if I've waffled on a little too much... Did you perhaps have any questions?

A message arrives via a holo transmitter from the world of Lianna. Though encrypted and seen safe by the security systems, portions of the message seem to be corrupted, as the file is sent to various destinations and neighbouring Jedi systems.
One, who would listen to the message, would hear the following words from a human captain:To all the Jedi, we have failed! Master Tycon has fallen in the battle of Raxus Prime, they are coming! I served as a captain aboard the Pelta-Class frigate Ambassador before I had to abbandon the Jedi Master's fleet mid-battle. The Quarren Dominion is coming! Their armada is on their way to stop you. Valon had been plagued of late by Visions of Reya and her Mother's quest for the Valley she sought to use him to find. Knowing he could not stand by much longer and sit idle, he had begun working upon a plan. A plan which lead him to the Hangar Bays of the Praxeum where he located a derelict U-Wing. The vessel had sat unused and unowned for many years, but Valon had requisitioned it for his own uses. With the help of a small team of engineers, he got to work modifying the ship. The first phase of which involved striping the U-wing down to its barest essential components. Weapons were taken off, paint was cleaned back to bare metal, seating was unbolted and tossed aside, and rusted panels taken off

After, once she has set her RZ-2-A-wing interceptor down upon arriving at the Praxeum, performing a quick postflight check to ensure that nothing requires immediate attention, Brielle pops the starfighter's canopy, slings her backpack satchel over a shoulder, and nimbly hops down to the ground. Dressed in a relaxed fit, mid-length hooded topcoat worn over light, flowing wide leg, high waisted pants and an oversized, dropped shoulder shirt of a slightly lighter cream colored hue than the topcoat, Brielle appears to be a humanoid female of 12 or 13 with dark eyes and hair and and olive complexion with a slight grayish hue, the lightsaber hilt worn hanging from her left hip the only feature of her attire that suggests that she is, in fact, a Jedi Initiate. The lightsaber hilt is generic, with no personal touches that suggest it is one of her own design, given that it is merely a training blade given to her by the instructors at the Jedi Academy on Corellia, where she has been training for the past several months.
Possessed of a calm, patient, and watchful air befitting one older than her appearance suggests, Brielle waits beside the RZ-2 for whomever will be sent to meet her, observing the activity and taking in what sights there are to be seen in the immediate vicinity while also cataloging the layout of the area as she begins familiarizing herself with the Praxeum she assumes she will be spending the majority of her time here on Ossus as part of a student exchange program.

An instructor, from the Praxeum, awaited the arrival of Brielle Giovane. This one was a Mon Calamari, a member of a cadre of Jedi Knights of the same species that retreated from Dac when it fell after the demise of the Galactic Alliance. Jedi Master Berfen was among a the few of his group that ranked high within the ranks of the Jedi Lords. He had joined as an instructor to the junior academy on Ossus and proved to be a worthy tutor and educator. His comrades included the Count Halabrak, who commanded their college's main stronghold on Ossus, and fellow Master Chalina, a female who instructed at the senior academy, located at the Great Jedi Library. In total, there were nearly a hundred of their group that served the High Lords in the pursuit to protect the innocent and strike down the evil.
Jedi Master Berfen watched as the RZ-2 A-Wing came to land by the Praxeum's grounds. In attendance were a couple other instructors of lesser rank and a pair of Praxeum Guards, who were equivalent to the rank of Banneret. Instead of serving a noble directly, they volunteered to join the Academy's security, similar to that of the widely respected Temple Guards of old. Berfen had suggested the exchange program to the superiors and a cooperation was struck between Corellia and Ossus... that was until light of recent events that caused many problems in the Core regions. Still, to see a Padawan venture here on that program was a welcomed sight.
Berfen approached the young Initiate after she had disembarked. From what she noticed, there were usual lessons here, similar in vein to the academy on Corellia. Younglings with lightsabers as they practiced defense, tuned with their crystals, and were educated on utilizing the Force. There even seem to be a class dedicated to the wildlife of Ossus, which was being revived, and learning the language of the Ysanna, who participated in the academy as students too.
=Berfen= Welcome, Initiate Giovane! Welcome! We are most happy to meet yet another from our brothers and sisters on Corellia.
Berfen was certainly a cheerful one.
=Berfen= I hope your trip was secure and swift. I know that, these days, it seems Imperials are everywhere...

The cheerful welcome that the Mon Calamari offers her brings a friendly, unassuming smile to Brielle's lips as she replies in a warm yet respectful tone, "Thank you, Master, she uses the title as a sign of courtesy just as she would when addressing any Jedi of unknown rank given that her host has yet to introduce himself, offering a formal bow as an additional sign of respect given her personal preference to risk being too ceremonial rather than insufficiently so when uncertain of the customs of a place new to her and of those beings she encounters in it. Rising from the bow with the same refined grace and economy of movement with which it was performed, Brielle adds, It is both a pleasure and an honor to meet with you, and I look forward to learning all I can while I am here," in an open, friendly tone that suggests her sentiments are genuine rather than offered out of mere politeness or decorum.
"My trip was, fortuitously, free from any Imperial entanglements, Brielle replies after the Mon Calamari has concluded his greeting by was of asking about her journey to Ossus, and then tilts her head to the side inquisitively as she asks, Have the Jedi Lords had many dealings with Imperials?" The question is posed in an openly curious way rather than an offhanded one that suggests she asks not idly, but rather in an effort to learn more about her hosts. Her life prior to seeking out training among the Jedi on Corellia had been, by design, rather sheltered; her adoptive uncle, in truth more a father to her than an uncle, feeling that it would be best that she not begin her training until her body had reached the physical appearance of a typical Jedi Initiate while also allowing her to come to terms with and learn to deal with some of the more potentially challenging aspects of her somewhat unique ancestral heritage. Brielle's time among the Corellian Jedi has been similarly sheltered, her training being conducted exclusively at the academy prior to her present journey to Ossus, and while she has a scholarly understanding of the history and current state of Imperial affairs, she has no first-hand, personal experience with them; her question for the Mon Calamari born from an insatiable thirst for knowledge that is soon evident to anyone who interacts with Brielle at length.

Post by Synala Narz on Mar 16, 2023 11:26:20 GMT -8
Synala had made it to Ossus. The younglings were safe, all in the Jedi Praxeum getting the support they needed. It was about a week after the battle and the list of casualties was finally coming to a close. Synala was glad as she sat there on a computer. It had been her job to find out who the casualties were and report to the appropriate Padawan if it was their Master, even vice versa. After receiving new herself it had been a tough job but at least now she was at an end of it for today. Synala pulled the headphones off her ears and placed the datapad in her bag. Everyone else had already left and the room was empty. She dropped a small cup into the sink as she walked past and a robot got to work instantly. She pressed a button and the door in front of her opened with a hiss. A few steps were taken to get through the door before it closed behind the Mirialan. Her footsteps echoed across the floor as she walked. This part of the building was now empty as everyone else was asleep. Through small circle windows Synala could see nothing but the night sky. It didn't matter though as there was only wasteland to see out there anyway. Ossus was in sharp contrast to Corellia. Corellia had jungles sprawling the planet whilst Ossus was a giant dust ball with violent storms ravaging the surface. Corellia wouldn't be pretty anymore though, not after the battle. And the battle….she sighed as the memory resurfaced. Her Master…
"Good!" The Bothan spoke. Synala looked at him out of the corner of her eye as she remained in a one armed headstand. Sweat dripped from her and left a small puddle on the training room floor. One arm was outstretched as she had her eyes tightly shut. She was focusing solely on a large crate, half her size, and was trying to lift it using the Force. The crate had levitated slightly, maybe half a metre off the ground. "Good, now carry on" Synala let out a groan and closed her eyes tighter. The exercise was both physically and mentally exhausting. After a few seconds Synala let out a yelp as the hand supporting her weight gave way. She ended up on the floor sprawled and in an ungraceful mess. The Bothan wandered over to her and chuckled. "So close" he spoke as his hand gestured to a small space between two fingers. He then brushed his beard and turned away, "Get up, go again" "You have got to be kidding me" she murmured under her breath. "I heard that!" He responded with a pivot on his feet to face her again, "Respect!" Synala sighed as she pushed herself off the floor, "Respect is earned" "Then haven't I done enough to earn it?" He was about to speak more when a buzzing noise on his wrist alerted him to a call on the communicator. Synala rolled her eyes in response to his comment but smiled as her Master turned to answer the communicator. "Yes…." Synala stood and rearranged her robes as Gokana spoke. "Oh…Seriously?" She glanced up at him, sensing the alarm in his voice. "Master…." The Bothan threw out his hand as an indication to get her to stop speaking. After a few seconds he spoke again, "Well get everyone ready now. Evacuate the younglings…Yes my Padawan can escort them…..Get to it, and quick…..out" "This is bad, very bad" his hands crinkled up and rubbed his brow. "Master?" she said, "What's…what's going on?" He sighed, visibly, and replied, "Numerous ships have just come out of hyperspace and are moving into position to attack the city" "What?" She took a couple of seconds to get her thoughts together and get over the initial reaction to panic, "What do I need to do Master? I will fight alongside you" "Get the younglings off world" he stated simply "No" the Bothan raised his eyebrows at her disobedience, Synala gulped "I'm not….I'm not leaving you like that. I will stay and fight with you" "The younglings are more important" "Not to me" Silence ensued but it was soon broken by Master Gokana. "This time you need to listen to me. Arguing is wasting precious time. Get the younglings, get to a ship and go" "But…" "No buts. Go young one" Master Gokana spoke, "You have so much potential. Go. Look after the younglings, they are reliant on you now. And I promise….you will see me again" he smiled.
Synala shook her head. These memories were not helpful. It wasn't helpful to remember how she had looked at her Master with a tear in her eyes because she knew what was going to happen. It wasn't helpful to remember leaving Corellia with the younglings as weapons bombarded the planets. It wasn't helpful to remember that holo call that told her what she already knew. Master Gokana was gone and nothing she could do would change it. Synala sighed and wrapped her large robe around her for comfort as she walked through the corridors of the Jedi Praxeum with a blank expression on her face. After Corellia and finding out about her Master she felt empty. Sure there had been disagreements between her Master and herself but she had never hated him. In fact the opposite, she had seen him as a father. Maybe she should have told him that…. "Oh well" she whispered. "I can't change it now. Let's not cry over spilt milk" Yet it was so much more important than spilt milk, it was a being's life, her own Master's life. But the Jedi had always taught her to not show emotion so now she walked through the corridors going through the motions every day: get up, get food, study, work, meditate and go back to sleep. Nothing had a meaning anymore and Synala doubted she even had a purpose. What did she even want? She turned a corner and felt helpless. To get rid of the Sith and rid the galaxy of evil? Well she had been with the Jedi long enough to know they were failing. So what was the point? She knew she couldn't just give up and stop fighting yet right now that option seemed like the best one. "Wait no. No you can't just give up. Remember you swore to protect those who can't protect themselves? You are a Jedi" "But what's the point?" "The point is being a good person and doing the right thing. Remember what Master Gokana said? Don't let your emotions get the better of you and right now they are" Synala let out a sigh, she was right. Emotions were controlling her. So what did she need to do? Get more resolve? Have a stronger reason to fight? Revenge could never be a reason to fight, it had to be compassion. She scratched her head. She had compassion after all she wanted to help people. "Maybe I am overthinking. Maybe I don't need some complicated goal. All I need is a desire to help people and rid the galaxy of evil. They are my roots and I should honour them" she thought. The only problem was that the Jedi back on Corellia didn't seem to be that successful. She thought for a second, what about the Lord's? They were more based in the military from what she could remember and fought more on the front lines. Was it an option? She shrugged, she was on Ossus right now so when would there be a better opportunity to branch out and at least try. Maybe it would be as successful as the Jedi on Corellia but it was still worth a shot. During her thinking Synala had made it back to her room and she typed in her entry pin to enter. Once inside she dumped her bag on the floor and looked in the mirror. She undid the messy bun that was in her dark hair revealing the three small dutch braids on the left side of her head. Her other hair fell naturally in front of part of her face. She shrugged and moved through the room, removing her robes as she did so. She crawled into a tank top and shorts and lay down on her mattress. She stared at the ceilng for a while before eventually drifting off. Tomorrow she would need to think about how to achieve her goal.

As the sun rose up over the Eacho Mountains, a LAAT/i set down upon a landing pad at the Jedi Praxeum. Aurora disembarked first, clad in her golden hued battle armour, and was followed by a pair of her Taung Warriors clad in their own armour. While it was true that the Praxeum was currently the furthest thing from a battle ground, Aurora much preferred her battle garb over any dress or formal attire she might otherwise be forced to wear. Besides, she hoped it and her guards would help project a sense of ease and protection for those she was currently visiting.
As she strode through the entrance hall, attendants in the Praxeum were busy waking up and gathering the student refugees from Corellia into the main meeting hall of the Praxeum. Being the crack of dawn did lead to a lot of half asleep Padawans being herded in as Aurora took the raised platform stage, while her Guards took up positions at either end. Aurora's gaze passed over the younglings, examining each in turn as they took their seats in the stands. Some looked much more worse for wear than some of their fellows. A number of good Jedi had died in the raid on Corellia, many were now without Masters and others without friends that they had trained alongside. She could sympathise with them all, having been through similar ordeals herself growing up. It was not easy and never got easier Good Morning everyone, please take your seats. I am Lady Valhalla... The iconic but weirdly symphonic call of children repeating "Good Morning Lady Valhalla" sung out across her half-asleep audience. She smiled playfully, quite amused by the response. Aurora did not often visit the Praxeum, but she had volunteered to oversee the current crop of refugee's since the other Lord's had a number of other duties occupying them I know many of you have already heard news regarding the passing of many of your friends and teachers. Today I offer but a small glimmer of hope: Corellia still stands, and with it the Corellian Temple... As such, we have been in contact with Master Frantz and have organised a shuttle to return you back to Corellia and the Jedi Order... However, I would like to make an offer to you all: Those of you wishing to stay here on Ossus can find a home amongst the Jedi Lords. Our Praxeum here will accept those still early in your training, and the Library Academy will accept those further along in their study. You can become one of us... A force for Good, ready to take the fight against the Darkness and the Empire... The decision is yours to make, and you'll have until mid day to choose between staying here or returning to Corellia. But I am certainly happy to answer any questions you might have right now, otherwise, you are free to return to your rooms and begin packing any belongings to make the trip back... With that, she left the floor open as a gaggle of discussion started erupting across the seating stands. Several younglings and padawans were already getting up and heading back to their rooms to begin packing for the trip ahead

Synala stretched her arms up and let out a long yawn. She crawled out of bed and moved to the shower. The warm water washed over her and comforted her. Then she stepped out of the shower, dried herself and got changed into her robes. They were itchy but she had gotten used to that by now. She then took out a hair dryer and dried her hair. All of this took around 20 minutes and once she was finished she exited her room, moving through the Praxeum towards the main meeting hall. As she walked her eyelids flickered, she was tired after having worked late last night. But working was all she did nowadays, almost as if it took away the pain of her loss. It most likely just pushed it down and created a timebomb waiting to explode. But Synala didn't mind, the longer she could keep it together the better. Synala entered the meeting room and looked around. A few younglings and Padawans were beginning to file in. All had the same look on their faces, drowsiness. Synala probably looked the same. She took a position towards the front of the meeting hall with the younglings. Technically she should be back with the Padawans but she had been instructed to look after the younglings and that was what she would do. Slowly more began to enter the meeting room until eventually it was full. Synala waited in silence for what was to come. A Jedi entered, one with long red hair and armour which glowed gold. She introduced herself as Lady Valhalla. This surprised Synala for a second as she expected the Lady to introduce herself as a Knight or Master but quickly she remembered that it was the Jedi Lords. Their ranking system was different. Around her the younglings sung out a greeting, Synala remained silent. Everyone then sat. Lady Valhalla spoke, her voice ringing out across the room. Synala listened intently to her words. She knew Corellia was alright, after all she had direct contact, but it was still nice to hear it and the sigh of relief the room gave was refreshing to hear. The younglings could return home. Then the Lady carried on speaking. So the Jedi Lords were willing to recruit? Perfect. This meant she didn't even have to ask. Chatting then erupted in the hall as many younglings and Padawans alike spoke excitedly about the news. "Synala can I go and pack my stuff?" A young boy asked her. He was one of the younglings she had worked closely with over the last couple of days. "Of course, you are excused Daniel" she said with a smile. "Thank you" he said with a bow of the head, then he began to walk away. He turned as if he realised that Synala was not following, "Synala are you coming?" Synala sighed and shook her head, "No, I wish to stay here with the Jedi Lords" The young boy tilted his head then smiled, "May the Force be with you then" "And you" She smiled at the young boy as he disappeared into the crowd. That would likely be the last time she saw him. It was scary joining the Lords as she was turning away from everything she knew yet she felt a calling to it. It felt like the right thing to do. Eventually the room was almost empty and Synala looked at the Lady. She would approach, tentatively and spoke. "Hello" she announced her presence and bowed her head to show respect, "My name is Synala Narz. I was a Padawan to Master Yem Gokana but unfortunately he fell in the battle for Corellia. I came here with the younglings as I was the one put in charge of looking after them and over the last couple of days I have been working through the list of casualties and telling the respective people of their loss." She paused, nervous to continue. One wouldn't necessarily know she was nervous though as she was very good at regulating her voice and body language to appear confident, "I wish to join the Jedi Lords. I want to help you rid the galaxy of Sith and evil. I believe the Lord's are more successful than the Corellian Jedi as you are more based in the military, at least from what I have heard. I am further through my training though so I was wondering where would I be expected to go and learn and how would I get a Master?" She finished and awaited a response.
