Or, since things aren't particularly moving anyway, we can just pretend that we're all doing something useful. Like he's off changing oil in his speeder.

Crom, that's kinda the problem here, things aren't moving and they need to be. Dav's currently visiting me for something or other, and I am waiting, with someone else I think, for the Senate to convene so that we can deal with things that need to be dealt with, but need the full senate's approval. For instance, declaring war on the Mandolorians, and the subsequent military build up and battles caused and fought by gathered forces. As well as the joining of new worlds, Fresia and Vandelhelm I think, and anything else I may have missed.

We can simply say enough time has passed for his term to expire. Simple.
As chair of the Judiciary Committee (and, then, assumed Parliamentarian) Cihlbar can call a general meeting of the Senate, kicking off the next session of the Galactic Republic by an election of Chancellor and and Vice Chancellor.
I think, just a weak opinion i am not strong about, it might be too early to declare war on the Mandalorians. Unless, the Jedi Council comes down from on high and says you should.
And yes, new admissions of member systems would naturally be on the agenda.

My term as VC should definitely be over by now. I can handle senatorial duties but I need to limit my invilvement for now. Maybe in the future I can give Chancellor a go. After all, that is Dmitri's ultimate IC goal.

Will that sounds like a good idea. If you would be so kind as to call the senate together for another session please.

My point, Darma, is that we need to figure out who to elect as Chancellor. Until we have someone willing to take the role and that of VC, we shouldn't convene the whole Senate. That said, anything military can be done without the full Senate because of the Military Committee, which Crom'nen and Will are ranking members and can lead.

Does the Republic currently have any sort of sector ranger force? I know there was talk of setting one up at one point.

Closest we have is the Jedi and individual planetary defenses.

And we began to set up uniform fleets that were regionally dispersed. For example, I command the 1st Outer Rim fleet out in Mon Calamari. Conceivably, there is a 1st Core Fleet, 2nd Core Fleet, etc. 1st Mid Rim Fleet etc.

Huh, ok. So whose job is it to counter interplanetary crime? On a small scale, I can't imagine the military or the Jedi having time for it, and planetary police forces probably wouldn't have jurisdiction or resources to chase criminals offworld.

There is no problem too small for a Jedi.

? . . . . that kind of thing, actually yes, the planetary police forces do handle IC domestically and (conceptually) the Republic, in conjecture with the Jedi Investigators branch, investigate interplanetary crimes (crime syndicates, Imperial espionage, Sith undercurrents, etc.) at the behooval of local security and Jedi Watchmen that are stationed throughout the member systems of the Galactic Republic.
IC, when it comes to joint and planned RPs, things usually begin as a report in either the Judiciary Committee or the Military Council to either investigate and bring individuals to justice (judiciary) or commit to heavier acts of force and conflict (military).
OOC, we tend to be a body of babbling baboons that the Senate is known for and are hopelessly blind of the real controversy until Jedi tell us and provide them with legitimacy by backing their cause. The Mandalorian conflict already in progress on the Jedi side of things; and preparing to be brought to the Senate soon.

Conceivably, those could be Republic Rangers that accompany/lead the Jedi in the investigation that OOC are usually a precursor to a bigger RP that is already planned.

Yea, honestly I was on top of that SL because there was no one else "chomping at the bit" to volunteer to help bring you in. But a small colony of mandalorinas with resources are, indeed, prove to be a benefit to the Republic. Does anybody else want SL AND serve the greater Galactic Republic on this one? More then willing to "spread the wealth" as it were. . . I'd be more than willing to either take it on or simply help write a diplomatic envoy to Fresia with the intentions of bringing the world and its people into the GR, sure. So... who's going to handle this? I'd like to get started.

it is put on the back burner. There will be a vote to allow Fresia at the next meeting of the Senate, which is . . . . soon. Once we figure out who is the big C and VC, then we will call a meeting to deal with new business.
You can always start by sending an envoy to the capitol.

You can't vote on it until it's an IC thing... which it's not, yet.
I supposed I could send someone to Coruscant. Actually, I'm pretty sure I still have someone on Coruscant, that is, unless you evicted me from 500 Republica. Haha.

don't think so. But i think the Whills evicted 500 Republics from the boards.
But yea, the vote WOULD make it an IC thing. But to get to the heart of the matter, I would not be interested in travelling to Fresia for the simple reason of making "First Contact." If we could figure out a bigger RP reason to be there. . . . like investigating known Mando colonies in Republic space. And then there is a small Mando loyalist detachment (a Deathwatchy situation) that attacks the "stooges of the Republic" against the will of the Governor of the system, whatever you call them.
Very good, Plu; you are good. you come with that all by yourself. How do you do it? ;-)

I am hoping for this Character to rise to become political and thus matriarchal leader and Queen Mother of Hapes. I have no experience writing a type of character such as this and never before have I written a female. I look forward to beginning Ana's journey and am looking for all the involvement and help I can get. For now Ana is a Princess and I don't presume for her to just seize power without having established her character and having built up some experience. Therefore I am hoping someone cold help me and either write the NPC Queen Mother until her death or what have you, or perhaps the Queen Mother is dead and Ana has some form of mentor. Which ever way it would be good to have another involved so I don't have to have her learn the ropes by her self. If I do, then I will and my proposed short term goals are to establish Ana and a small writing team on Hapes.
My long term goals are to create a Hapan Navy and possible defense force, to enter Hapes into working relations with the Jedi Order and Galactic Republic and hopefully create some good and interesting roleplay.
