Kent looked up at Iella, fear no longer was present in her eyes, it had been replaced by reason and logic.
It was just like with the remote... I was threatened and the Force compelled me to act in a way to save myself. I was in control but at the same time I wasn't. I wanted to be out of danger, and the other side of me made it happen.
In the girl's head she did nothing even close to being wrong.

"I see..." *Iella paused for a moment.*"I understand that you felt threatened, but you need to learn to control yourself." *She crossed her arms.*"The Force is strong with you, Kent. If you were to lose control, you could end up doing a lot of damage, and not just to someone who's threatening you." *She sighed, finding herself becoming tired of all this lecturing. It had been a trying day for Kent, so maybe it might be best to halt lessons for the rest of the day.*"Just think about it, all right? I think we should end our lessons for today."

The girl opened her mouth to protest, but then thought better of it. Ok. I guess I will head to the gardens and get some sleep. She had never been given a bunk in the dormitories, but even then. After living most of her life in the pollution filled cesspit that was Nar Shadda, Kent found being outside under clear skies peaceful and relaxing.

"What did they make you do last time?" *she asked, reaching up to run her hands through her hair a bit and making sure it was thoroughly soaked before the shampoo came.* Adelle ran her fingers through the wet strands of Morgan's hair, noting the lack of a thick undercoat. Just one more physical difference between her and the rest of humanity. She massaged her fingertips into Morgan's scalp, the shampoo foaming up as she fought to remember what exactly she'd done prior to this past non-mission."There was a hard-to-get criminal running loose in Coronet City. He'd killed two highly-trained officers and vanished without a trace." Adelle gathered up Morgan's hair and gently pulled the suds down the length. "They called me, saying I was their best chance to find him and either arrest him or put him down." That had been a pursuit. And something she'd never mention to Leigh or Na'an.

*Well, this criminal sounded dangerous, but were those two officers he'd managed to kill Jedi like Mama? Morgan doubted it, so when Mama said she was believed to be the best chance to "arrest him or put him down," Morgan automatically agreed. But the scars... Clearly it hadn't been easy. Still, Mama was here now, and Morgan, recalling her talk with Na'an, looked over her shoulder carefully with a confident, proud look as she asked,* "And you did, didn't you?"

There was an empty spot of floor space only feet away from the door; Na’an crossed to it sat in one smooth motion, her legs folded beneath her as she looked up at her companion.
“Okay then, let’s put the facts out there,” she said, wasting no time and ignoring the heat still in her face. “We’ve made a statement, but the Master may need me to testify. Yet now we’ve got a distress call from Rutil, an urgent one, and no ship to get there with.”
Leigh nodded, her dome humming as she made some quick calculation through recently-backlogged data. “There is some good news,” she said as she finished. “Recent shipping manifests for the temple spaceport indicate that a commercial freighter has recently made port here. They should be here for a few days before leaving the planet.”
“...Well, that’s luckier than I’m used to being. We have enough credits left to purchase passage to Yavin?”
“We will if you let me do the negotiating. No more giving away our nest egg.”
Na’an’s flush deepened. “Hey, that bar was smashed up, it was the least we could do!” she said hotly.
“Understood.” Leigh’s voice turned dry, and her hologram smirked. “But I will still be negotiating for our passage.”
“Fiiiiiine.” Na’an leaned back against the corner, exhaling in relief this time. “How long do we have before it leaves?”
“A few days at least. I’ll start the message requesting board now.” Leigh’s arm beeped slightly as she started the side routine to message the freighter.
“Even luckier! Maybe we’ll have enough time for the testimony...and…”
There was a pause. Na’an chewed at her lip, thinking hard as she stared at the space between her feet. The faint smell of smoke still hovered in the air around her, warm and sharp...
“And what?”
“And to prepare.” Leigh was looking concerned when Na’an looked up again. “Leigh, I don’t feel good about this little trip. At all. I mean, there’s--”
Na’an stopped abruptly, as if remembering where she was and who she was with. Her eye snapped past Leigh, to the little girl who was still in the room. “I’m sorry, but in all seriousness, who is that.”
“My sister.”
At that, Na’an seemed to choke on her own spit. “Your--”
Leigh sighed, waiting for her partner's coughing to speak. "Yes, she is an Emulator Unit. Vidalu Na'an, meet LE-02," she said, sounding aggrieved as she gestured to the child.
"That's....uh...wow. Oh, dear. Does she know?"

"I'm still here, aren't I?" she asked with a smug smile and an eyebrow raised. Adelle stood and rinsed her hair out, only feeling a slight burn from the water now. "He wasn't the worst I've faced." A fruity scent filled the air as Adelle squeezed bodywash onto a cloth and lathered up. The worst she'd ever faced off again wouldn't ever get his name breathed again. And thanks to the "gift" of the company, she wasn't sure she could even breathe in her own room. Adelle passed the wash cloth to Morgan, making sure there was still plenty of suds for her.

*Morgan beamed proudly in response, standing up along with Mama, running her hands through her hair again just to make sure there was no shampoo leftover. Afterward, she waited patiently for her turn to lather up with the soap, a faint smile coming to her lips at the fruity scent. When handed the washcloth, she stepped just outside of the spray to start washing up, unable to resist asking,* "Who was the worst?" *with a tilted head.*

Adelle's blood ran cold even as her skin reddened from the heat of the water. She paused mid-rinse, carefully planning out her response. She should have seen the question coming; her small boast had opened her up to this. And now she'd pay for it.
"A man named Sy Dir'egon," she said, stepping further back into the spray. "And that is all you need to know."
Adelle finished her rinse then stepped aside to let Morgan rinse off, grinding her teeth together. Even just saying his name set her on edge. Morgan, with all her empathic abilities, would no doubt pick up on the tension—possibly even her increased reluctance to speak. There was no helping that. Adelle turned the water off once Morgan was done. But even though she couldn't quite protect Morgan from everything she felt, she could protect her from the hellish memories. She snatched a towel from the rack hanging nearby and offered it to Morgan, before grabbing the other towel for herself.
Despite the two dark turns the conversation had taken, the shower had done some good. Adelle felt less fatigued, less stressed as she dried herself off. She could probably get a dreamless few hours' sleep before the nightmares hit in full force again. Provided Leigh and Lana were finished with their conversation. She checked the room beyond with her Force sense, noting that Na'an's steely presence had softened somewhat and hung about nearby. The two odd presences of the Life Emulators were also nearby. Na'an had probably called Leigh into the hallway to talk and Lana followed. Good. She'd forgotten to bring a change of clothes into the 'fresher with her and it'd just be awkward walking naked in front of an open door to get them.
She palmed the door open and immediately smelled rain: Na'an. Na'an was in the kriffing room. Adelle flattened herself to one side of the door, her fist punching the door closed again. Her other hand clutched the top of the towel to her collar bone, as if that would hide her state of nakedness. Morgan and her clothes were still in the 'fresher: she could ask Morgan for help. First she had to calm her rapid heartbeat and the adrenaline that had flooded her system.
"Morgan? Would you grab my other change of clothes from the wardrobe when you're dressed?" she asked as calmly as she could. "My room seems to have gathered an audience."

*The silence and hesitation the question induced should have been no surprise to Morgan, and now she almost felt bad for asking; she knew about the nightmares! The flashbacks, the fright, all of it! She didn't know what they were about, just that they'd happened.
She'd almost called it off when Mama answered it anyway, but only with a man's name. A name that was enough to put Mama on edge... and somehow seemed vaguely familiar to Morgan. She frowned, looking at her feet, brows furrowing as she repeated the name under her breath. Then immediately stopped that and switched to repeating it mentally; if the name was enough to upset Mama, then she didn't want to say it, even very quietly. Still, she couldn't quite place the name. Something from one of Mama's sleep-induced ramblings... ? Was he who the nightmares were about?
Deciding it better not to ask, she quietly rinsed off and accepted the offered towel. She was in the middle of drying her hair when she looked up to see Mama's shock and hasty door closing. Apparently, there was an "audience" in her room. Morgan grinned a little, stifling a giggle and deciding not to make a comment. Quickly toweling off, she pulled on her skirt and shirt once more, letting the whip lay on the ground for the moment.
She then exited the refresher, giving Na'an an amused smile before fetching the clothes for her Mama. She then spotted a brush and grabbed that too, then nearly dropped everything as she jumped at the touch of something on her shoulder. It was merely Lokay; right, he'd been patiently waiting for her return. She smiled and kissed the tailring's snout before returning to the refresher.* "Here, Mama!" *she said, still smiling as she handed the clothes to her, then turned toward a nearby mirror as she began to brush her hair. Giggling, she couldn't help but add,* "Ya know, if you were more like me, this wouldn't be a problem."

She smiled up at the one-eyed woman she had known about for almost all her life but had never before had a chance to meet.
"Hi Na'an!! Nice to finally meet ya!! Oh, but.."
She couldn't help the wry grin that came over her face, the crystalline blue eyes of her HRD housing focusing on her sister for the briefest of seconds.
"My name is Lana."
The faux-young AI copied Leigh's intonation perfectly, and the action gave her enough reason to enjoy a tiny giggle.. And then she was staring back up into the single grey eye of her creator's first crush of long ago.
"Whaddaya mean, do I 'know?'"

"Here, Mama!" *she said, still smiling as she handed the clothes to her, then turned toward a nearby mirror as she began to brush her hair. Giggling, she couldn't help but add,* "Ya know, if you were more like me, this wouldn't be a problem." Adelle raised her eyebrows at her adopted child. "If I were more like you, I'd have a lot more scars." In hindsight, it was a rather poor attempt at a joke. Adelle bit her lip and took the clothes from Morgan then brought the towel to her hair again. In the humidity, it would take forever to dry completely and with the party gathering in her room, it wasn't like she could sleep it dry. That and the shock of finding her room occupied by other people had effectively staved off any desire for sleep. She pulled on the grey tunic and khaki cargo pants then picked up the tank top she'd worn for the past week. Holes riddled the threadbare fabric from the shrapnel and abuse she'd given it. Adelle sighed as she realized the old pair of pants were in the same condition. That meant shopping and she hated shopping. She'd put it off until later. If at all.
She finished getting cleaned up, taking the brush from Morgan when she was done, and left the 'fresher. It seemed the family business continued on. She tossed the brush onto her bed then noticed the crate from earlier. For a moment she froze, glancing at Leigh. The next she used the Force to slide the crate under her desk against the wall, out of the way and, hopefully, out of mind. That taken care of, she leaned back against the wardrobe, trying to look calm and idly wondering when she'd have her room again.

There was the flicker of a door at the edge of Na'an's vision, but she ignored it for the moment. The sudden revelation that there was another Life Emulator in the base--Leigh's sister, and a child to boot--had her leaning forward with an intensity Leigh recognized as becoming more and more frequent in the last week. "Does she know," she said, eye trained on Lana as if she were trying to see through her skin to the wiring underneath, "that Elly's here?"
Leigh paused for a nanosecond as she ran a subroutine to check her recent memory logs. "I have neglected to mention that particular detail," she concluded, almost defensively.
Na'an raised an eyebrow. "Protecting your sister?"
This time, Leigh's voice was decidedly defensive. "You know better. I merely lacked the time. But that is irrelevant. She is aware that Eliana Shan is in this facility, and has made several allusions to this fact. However, I do not believe Lana has encountered her directly."
"I see. Well then." Na'an turned to Lana this time with some thought, pressing her lips together in a thin hard line. Leigh estimated that whatever was going through her friend's head must be difficult for an organic mind to process--the expression only broke when the refresher door opened a second time to reveal Adelle Bastiel. "Well!" Na'an exclaimed as the woman came into the room, loudly, and pushed herself to her feet with the kind of abrupt grace that, to Leigh, seemed to come to her in spurts. The effect looked almost as if she'd somehow committed a startled jump into full movement, leaving Leigh again to wonder (in a minor algorithm, or course) about just how organic creatures even managed to control their motions at all. 'Well," she repeated again. "I think I've got someone your sister should meet. Miss Lana, would you like to see your mother?"
Now it was Leigh's turn to be startled. She half stood as well, adjusting counterbalances to put her on her feet quickly without tipping from the cannon's weight. "You are taking her there?" she exclaimed with some alarm. "Now? The Masters have not seen her yet, it may not be safe."
"It's ok, Leigh, trust me. There's something I want to see." She was in the door now, no longer leaning against the jamb--rather, she stood squarely in the center, her arms crossed tightly against her chest. "Nothing's going to happen to Lana."
"Na'an, she is a--"
"Don't worry." Na'an smiled broadly, but unlike the smiles she'd worn for Morgan there was no good humor in it--it looked rather more like a grimace. "If I'm right? Come on, I can take her. Doc, Morgan." She beckoned to Lana from the doorway, barely waiting for her to follow before she turned out of the room and down the familiar paths to the medical wards.
Leigh was left with a silent Adelle, and rapidly whirring programs to calculate the possibilities. She and the 02 unit had not spoken much to each other, and none of their interactions could have been said to be positive. All the same, Life Emulators were rare--despite their noted differences, there was no need to put her in danger before they each had other opportunities to understand the other. Placing the 02 unit in their mother's proximity could very well eliminate such opportunities for the foreseeable future.
That being said...Na'an had asked Leigh to trust her. Based on everything this Life Emulator knew of Na'an, there was 0.32% probability that said trust would be ill placed.
Now there was only Adelle to explain things to. However, in response to Na'an's utter lack of response, there was really only one thing to say. "She is anxious--and angry," she said. "I believe she feels she cannot face you when she is like this." She knew that to an organic, this may sound ridiculous and weak. However, if a fact was ridiculous or weak, it did not cease being a fact. " I believe she also did not realize that these were your private quarters."

*Mama's little attempt at a joke only left Morgan confused and she paused mid-brush; she would have tilted her head if it weren't already. More scars from what? Less clothing protection? Was that what she meant? Morgan looked at her own, presently-covered chest. Clothing hadn't helped prevent the claw scars she bore now...
Mama didn't seem proud of her joke and Morgan chose not to give it anymore thought, finishing brushing her hair before surrendering the brush. When they exited the refresher, the party was still gathered, but not for long: Na'an was taking Lana away, to see her "mother" apparently. This little notion left Morgan confused and also disappointed, as it meant Na'an was already leaving. With an again tilted head and a frown, she watched her vanish before looking up at the armored figure as it addressed Mama. Whatever tension had occurred between the two adults in the medical facilities, it clearly hadn't gone away yet.*

Adelle raised her eyebrows at the last statement. "Because Morgan walks into all the 'freshers in every dorm." She really had to stop being sarcastic. Adelle heaved a sigh and rubbed the heels of her palms into her eyes. The solid wood wardrobe which had seemed so comfortable before now felt like it had thorns digging into her spine. She was tired: physically, emotionally, mentally. Everything flowed out of it: her sarcasm, her weepiness, and the Force-awful jokes. She really needed to sleep. But there was Morgan and Leigh still.
And her father would need to be updated."I've seen her worse," she said, although Leigh would have a perfect memory of those days. "It's more than that. Something's set her off. You too." Despite the circuitry that comprised Leigh's systems, Adelle felt a small buzz of Force energy from Leigh. It would disappear when she focused on it, but in her peripheral Force sense, it was there. And right now, it was turbulent beneath the icy veneer Leigh usually had."Leigh," she said firmly, "what's wrong?"

I have learned to be comfortable enough to sleep just about anywhere. Getting a room assigned would mean extra work for someone, and perhaps moving someone else around. I am not really worth the trouble. Outside is nice, I haven't seen the stars in almost 10 years, the lights and pollution on Nr Shaddar make seeing them impossible. She wasn't trying to sound pathetic, she was tired and her honest opinion was all that could come out. It had been a very long day. She saw all these people around her that were doing great things and achieving things. All she was, was a girl with perfect recall and brain power and an ability to make things move. Here there were people that were really gifted, she had no right to impose any of them.

*Iella listened to Kent and couldn't help but frown a little, though she waited until Kent had finished before speaking up.*"Kent, remember what I said about letting us help you? No one will mind, really."*Still, if Kent really did feel more comfortable outside, then she could see no reason to not allow her to try it. That being said, she was going to get the girl a room assignment, if only for a place to keep some clean clothes and a private refresher.*"Although if you've got your heart set on sleeping outside, I won't stop you. Come on, let's go find you a cozy spot." *She smiled and motioned to the door.*

And right now, it was turbulent beneath the icy veneer Leigh usually had."Leigh," she said firmly, "what's wrong?" Leigh did not respond for a moment, instead whirring quietly in the empty space. Her scanners focused on the humans, both watching her watching the door where Na'an had taken her sister. Somewhere in the Temple, her mother was waiting for her. "We are leaving for Yavin very soon," she continued. "Na'an does not wish to go there. I do not wish to stay." The whirring became a little louder. Had she ever felt this...at odds, before? She was built off an imprint of a mind that had felt this way, experienced emotions in muddy forms that were beyond logic or calculation. But those memories were not hers--those feelings were not hers. Perhaps this was the first time. "I am," she said simply, "afraid."

I guess I will take a room. Thanks. If nothing else, she could read through the Jedi information. She was always excited to learn new things and a new source of knowledge was now available to her.
