Venom had spent the better part of an hour pacing the cargo bay, waiting for the rest of the crew to finish up with the meal and leave the common area. Once he was certain it was clear, he returned to his room to collect something of use. A silver case containing a node of Taozin skin. As long as he had it on him at all times, no Force user could sense his presence. And it their passenger was exactly what he thought he was, then Venom would be able to get the drop on him. Ensuring the silver case was securely placed within a compartment on his belt, Venom wandered back to the cabin that the passenger had selected. Approaching the door, Venom banged on it loudly.
"Hey, I need some help with something. Everyone else is busy at the moment. You mind giving me a hand?"
Venom waited patiently for a response. As he waited, he continually kept his emotions in check. Even with the Taozin node, if the emotions were strong enough, they could be sensed. Venom kept calm, and hoped the Taozin node would do its job. It had in the past, so there was no reason to think it wouldn't perform as it had before, but Venom wasn't taking any chances. He needed answers, and their passenger would have them, otherwise he'd dump him out the air lock.

Valafar stopped his work out session, when he heard the small Zabrak banging on the cabin door. Valafar thought for a couple of moments, what could this weakling want, could it be a trap of some kind, did this vermin know who he was and why he was heading to Rhommamool? Valafar knew he couldn’t take any chances, so he made sure his hidden vibro knife was still in place, hopefully he wouldn't need to use it and blow his cover. Valafar open the cabin door and he towered over the vermin Zabrak.
“Help with what, sir?”
Valafar still not giving up on his cover and unable to sense any deception from the smaller Zabrak, decided to go along for now. Valafar thought it was odd that he couldn't get a mental read on the Zabrak before him, but chalked it up to being nothing more than having been away from traveling with others in a long time. He may have been out of touch with reading thoughts, having not been around other living beings in many years. However should this pitiful man try anything, he would make sure that the small Zabrak would regret ever confronting him.

Venom eyed up the towering Zabrak warily. It was clear that the Zabrak wasn't letting his guard down either. Not that it made much of a difference to Venom. He'd dealt with a lot in his day. Having the inner workings of a Sith within his head, and having picked up several tricks as a smuggler, Venom was pretty confident of his chances. He knew not to underestimate his opponent, courtesy of his former master's training. This large Zabrak had one element currently in his favor, and that was his size. Despite not having seen this Zabrak fight at all, having retained a good portion of his training at the hands of Viox Savage , he would be able to take down this beast of a Zabrak, should the need arise. He hoped it wouldn't, however, if it came to that, then he would deal with it. There was still room for negotiations. Obviously this Zabrak wasn't an idiot."Got some crates that split open in the cargo bay. Can't move 'em with the loaders. Gotta move 'em by hand. Hope you don't mind a little physical labor..."Venom trailed off and turned on his heel, walking through the ship to the cargo bay. As the bulkhead door slid open, revealing the large cargo hold of the Serenity, Venom paused at the door controls and motioned for the larger Zabrak to enter the bay before him.

Valafar’s instinct told him to use caution while around this Zabrak, but what bugged him the most was the fact that he couldn’t sense any threat that might stem from helping this seemingly lower class of Zabrak. He decided that it would be for the best if he did. Valafar walked into the bay before this vermin, as he had motioned. One word was already in his mind from pure instinct ‘Trap’, however if Valafar could gain this Zabrak’s trust then it would be easier to manipulate later on.
“Where should we start?”
Valafar took note of the rest of the ship for the escape plan he was planning.

Venom stepped through the threshold of the cargo bay after the passenger. As the door hissed shut, Venom retrieved the length of durasteel pipe he had placed off just inside the door. He gripped it tight in his right hand, pushed all doubt and concern from his mind and swung with all of his might, aiming for the back if the larger Zabrak's knees. The goal here was to hit the Zabrak in the back of the knees to drop him down to the floor. Before Venom would interact with the Zabrak again, he needed this to work successfully. As the swing was mere seconds away from impacting the back of the Zabrak's knees, Venom snapped back a reply.
"Why not start with this?"

After hearing the Zabrak’s response, Valafar felt shooting pain in the back of knees, and fell to his hands and knees. Overcome with anger, Valafar lifted himself up so that he was still on his knees. Valafar noticed the Zabrak’s blaster pistol was aimed at his head, he grinned wickedly in a combination of pain, surprise, amusement and an almost small amount of respect for the small vermin. Managing to get the drop on him was no easy feat, and yet this Zabrak had managed to do so.
“So this is how you people do business?”
Valafar chuckling as he spoke to the small Zabrak.

Upon having his surprise move connect with the taller Zabrak, he had fallen to his hands and knees. Without wasting any time Venom took two quick steps ahead of the downed Zabrak and spun to his left, reaching down for his holstered sidearm with his right hand. Upon completing his spun, he would be facing the Zabrak, pistol in his right hand, right arm fully extended towards him, finger on the trigger. Venom smirked at the Zabrak's question.
"Drop this little facade you are playing. I know you ain't one of Czerka's agents. I know you ain't going to Rhommamool to survey. I also know you happen to be a Starkiller." Venom reached up to the collar of his shirt with his left hand and pulled it down far enough to expose the branded Clan sigil on his neck. "I suggest you start talking. Otherwise you'll be taking a long walk out the airlock. Make any sudden movements, try anything stupid, and I will end you. I ain't playing around here."
Venom kept his sidearm trained on the larger Zabrak's face. Regardless of this Zabrak's skill set, being at near point blank range would make it nearly impossible to escape a direct shot. The T-6 Thunderer heavy blaster pistol that was currently aimed at the Zabrak was powerful enough to blast a rather nice sized hole within his skull. Venom was very confident that he could hold the upper hand.

As the small Zabrak lowered the left side of his collar to reveal the Starkiller clan sigil, Valafar began to remember a mission his master had sent him on to eliminate the rest of clan Starkiller. Valafar was shocked that there was one other Starkiller left besides himself. Valafar knew that the charade was over, and began to tell half-truths.
“No point in denning that I am a Starkiller, I guess you must have caught a glimpse of my sigil at some point.” Valafar lowered his collar to show his sigil as well. “ What else would you like to know?”
Valafar would wait and bide his time before making his move just as his master had taught him. Valafar knew that allowing this Zabrak to kept the upper hand and ask questions, then maybe he would let his guard down long enough to bind him to his will.

Venom kept his weapon aimed at the Zabrak. Many questions came to mind, however there were many important ones that needed to be asked first. He thought hard on what he'd ask first.
"A name would be a good place to start. And if you are, in fact a Starkiller, how did you survive? Our Clan was massacred a few months after I was taken on as an apprentice. There were no survivors. I checked for months after. I could find nothing..."
Venom locked eyes with the Zabrak before him. He knew he couldn't fully trust the Zabrak's answers, but he needed to know. And that urge to know was what kept him rooted to the spot, standing up against the much larger Zabrak.

Valafar listened carefully to the Zabrak’s question, and thought of a way to torment him, and slowly break him.
“Why a rival clan leader led the attack, I was told by Elder Vetarikan to run to a safety, he said that he would try to save as many others as possible…”Valafar pause to let it sink in, then he continued. “ I would have gone with him, if he hadn’t issued it as an official order. Vetarikan knew that I was the future leader of the Clan, and that I must survive to insure the survival of our people. Unfortunately by the time I reached one of the clan’s safe houses in the cliffs overlooking the main estate, it was already burning. The screams of our people, I hear them every time I sleep” Valafar made a face that he has seen on many of his victims, one of regret. Valafar wasn’t lying about still being able to hear the screams when he went to sleep, plus he still remembers the look on Vetarikan as he pleaded to him to stop the massacre and the look when he was cut down.
Valafar looked up to see his attackers face, as well as waited for the next question. Valafar had a sense that the vermin might not believe a word he said, but it might make him let his guard down

Venom carefully watched the Zabrak's face as he spoke. Nearly all of what he was saying was a lie.
Venom had spent months searching for any scrap of information he could find on the Starkiller massacre. With the resources of the Tyrian Triumvirate at his disposal at the time, he had been able to dig deep and find, what he pieced together as, the truth. Numerous accounts of the massacre had been very spotty. No reliable sources. However, the deeper he dug, the more he had found reports sharing similar stories. Of a robed and hooded slave trader hanging around the Starkiller Enclave trading off young Zabraks as a cheap work force. Reports stating that days after the slave trader had been there, a darkly clad figure of impressive stature had been spotted entering the Enclave. And how after that, the figure was spotted exiting a few hours later as the Enclave burned. Venom also knew the layout of the compound like the back of his hand. The only safe house for the clan was located deep underground. Beneath the ancient crypts that held the remains of the previous leaders. The cliffs that had overlooked the estate had been set as a decoy, to deter an enemy from continuing to pursue the remaining members of Clan Starkiller if they were all thought to be dead. And after the massacre, if there had been any surviving members, the would have disbanded as to further enhance the illusion that the Clan had been defeated. It had been the ultimate fail safe. Had this Zabrak before him completed every part of the trials at the age of ten, he'd have known that. Obviously his training had been cut short. And the only thing to cut training short like that would have been an attack of that magnitude. Up until the training, all members of Clan Starkiller were led to believe that their compound was the only location left after the skirmishes between Clan Savage. And then it clicked. This Zabrak had mentioned Vetarikan, the famous leader of Clan Starkiller, who had rose to power after the feud between them and Clan Savage had ended. Vetarikan had been replaced by the time Venom had gone through the trials. And judging by the look of this Zabrak, at least from what he could tell, he was the same age, if not younger than him. And so, Venom had caught this Zabrak in a lie. He was now fairly certain that this Zabrak was responsible for the massacre, especially noting the way he spoke as he talked about the screams of the dying...the only thing that would confirm his theory was if this Zabrak had blood red eyes. All of the reports that had filtered in, in regards to the massacre had managed to agree on that one single detail...and now Venom would finally learn the truth. The one thing that he did know, that this Zabrak was not aware of, was the fact that he had managed to secure some records from his former Master on the regular updates of Clan Starkiller before the massacre. Viox had always liked knowing what his former enemies were up to. It was also how he had found Venom and took him on to be his apprentice. The last entry in the records he had, stated that the next leader was a Zabrak by the name of Valafar. Valafar had been selected in his stead, which made him a few years younger then him. And this Zabrak had completely ignored Venom when he had asked him his name...though he was fairly certain he already knew this Zabrak scum before him.
Venom stared at the kneeling Zabrak, contemplating pulling the trigger now and being free of the idea that this very Zabrak had betrayed and slaughtered his entire Clan. He straightened his right arm a little more.
I want a name. And those..."he motioned towards the Zabrak's goggles with his free hand."...off. Now!"
Venom was growing impatient with this Zabrak. Which was lessening his chances of leaving the cargo bay without a giant blaster hole between the eyes.

Valafar sensed that the Zabrak didn't believe him at all, which was a shame. This Zabrak asked for his name again, Valafar had a feeling that this vermin already knew it and wanted to confirm it. Even if he didn't say his name, removing the goggles would definitely reveal his identity. Valafar thought for several moments, he could give him a false name, but his eyes would reveal that lie. He could tell that the Zabrak was getting frustrated with him, so he decided to do the most unsuspected thing that he could do, and it might even shake the small Zabrak up a bit.
“Alright, fine you win. I knew that I could never deceive you. I am Valafar Starkiller, but you already knew that...didn't you? And if you don’t mind I’ll kept the goggles on for everybody’s sake, I've been told that they make people uncomfortable...”
As Valafar spoke, he could sense the presences of people approaching the cargo bay, most likely the other members of the crew. This could be either a good thing or it might even make the situation much worse.

Upon hearing the Zabrak's name, white hot rage seethed through his very being. He was practically trembling with rage. Despite being able to control the rage, barely, Venom was finding it very hard to not just pull the trigger and end this monster where he knelt.
"You animal! YOU! It was YOU who slaughtered them! All of them! It was YOU!" Venom clicked the safety off on his side arm. He was really finding it hard not to pull the trigger at the point. One shot would be all it took. "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't end you right here and now..."
The rage was coursing through his veins. He felt something he hadn't in a long time. Power. The anger and rage surging though him was beginning to unlock something that had been laying dormant for many years...something once harnessed by his former master...

Valafar chuckled as he could sense the rage within his newly found Clan Brother. Valafar knew that this Zabrak was far more than a force-sensitive now, even despite there still being something odd about how Valafar was actually able to perceive the Zabrak before him. And not many he had come across in his life had that much rage suddenly exploding from them. This Zabrak had undergone some sort of training, most likely at the hands of a Sith. Though Valafar had a feeling that it had been quite some time since he had received such training. The Zabrak before him was having a hard time maintaining control over his rage. If Valafar didn't play this carefully, regardless of the personal entertainment in the matter, it could end badly for him. One wrong move, and despite being as trained as he was, there would be no avoiding a blaster shot from that pistol. And at this range, Valafar knew he wouldn't fair well against it.
“You won’t kill one of the only surviving clan members, if you do, you’ll be just like me.”
Valafar then turned his attention over to the cargo bay door, as the rest of the crew of the ship entered, with puzzled looks on their faces. Valafar knew that this was about to get interesting. Valafar smiled a most devilish grin at this thought.

Nathan was standing on the bridge of the Serenity with his first mate, Zoe and the his pilot, Wash. They were still in the swirling confines of hyperspace. This journey was a bit of a trek, running from Iridonia to Rhommamool. Nathan happened to glance over at the security console that was displaying the security feeds from the cameras located all over the ship. He happened to catch a glimpse of what looked like Venom holding a pistol at their passenger's head. Nathan drew his side arm as he sprinted from the bridge, calling over his shoulder to Zoe.
"Zoe! We've got trouble!"
Nathan sprinted through his ship, towards the cargo bay. Once he reached to door, he paused for a split second, allowing Zoe to catch up, her trusty E-11 Carbine within her grasp. Nathan then pressed the button to open the door. The door slid open with a sudden woosh allowing Nathan and Zoe to spring through, weapons raised.
"Venom! I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt here, by letting you explain what this looks like...nice and easy like..."
Nathan kept his weapon trained on he crew member, while Zoe hung back a bit, waiting to jump in, if the need arose.

Venom glared at Valafar as he spoke. How dare he spout this garbage of being just like him. Valafar had slaughtered the entire Clan, whereas if he were to shoot Valafar in his traitorous face, he would only be killing the monster who started it all to begin with. So, in his mind, Venom could justify shooting Valafar.Venom's right arm began to tremble slightly as he continued to point his sidearm at Valafar. He was extremely angry. Rage was surging through his veins. The anger that was surging through his veins was something he hadn't felt in a long time. It was something he hadn't felt since he had been under the tutelage of his former master, Viox Savage . It was the anger that was harnessed by the Sith. And he wasn't sure he liked it or not. The last time he had felt anything remotely close to this, he was at the epitome of his training. Harnessing the anger and the power it brought him. He had felt completely invincible. And it was such a rush. And Venom was now enjoying that rush once again. It had been years since he had felt the stirring within himself. The anger seethed through him.Venom closed his eyes for a brief moment, then opened them again. The taint of the dark side had turned his eyes from a vibrant blue to a fierce golden yellow. He glared at Valafar."Become just like you? No! Killing you would be doing the memory of our Clan a favor. It would redeem some honor among us. And wash your traitorous blood from our lines! If those are your reasons for not killing you, then they aren't good enough..."Venom steadied his trembling hand and continued to glare at Valafar, slowly increasing the pressure on the trigger of his pistol. If he wasn't careful, he'd end up pulling the trigger. Venom was slow and steady with the increasing pressure on the trigger. As he was about to fully tighten his finger on the trigger, the Captain and Zoe entered the bay, weapons drawn. Zoe wasn't aiming at anyone so much as she was waiting to see what was going to transpire. Nate looked sternly upon Venom, asking him to explain the situation. At least he was willing to listen."Cap'n. It's not what it looks like. This ignorant bastard killed my entire clan. You know I'm not the type for personal vendettas. I turned away from that life style. I ain't gonna kill him, Nate. I just needed some answers. But don't push me. I ain't interested in spillin' any blood, however, I will be forced to if I don't get my answers. So back off!"Venom stood up straighter and kept his aim steady upon the Zabrak still kneeling upon the cargo bay floor before him. He wasn't fooling around at the point, he just wanted answers, though he was struggling with his inner demons as well, making him more conflicted than he normally was. Despite waging a war within himself, he was still able to maintain his composure.

Nathan listened to his crew member very carefully. He knew that Venom had fled from a Sith occupied world. He knew that he held his fair share of inner demons, and he knew that he was believed to be the sole remaining member of his Clan. At least until now, it seemed. Nathan, eyes still locked on the Zabrak brandishing the blaster, held his hands up trying to show Venom he didn't want anything bad to come from this.
"Alright Starkiller, we'll play it your way, for now."
He lowered his weapon, though he didn't return it to his holster on his hip. He glanced over at the kneeling Zabrak after studying Venom for a few more moments.
"The boy seems a might twitchy. I suggest you do as he says, 'fore he gives you a new hole to breathe from..."
Nathan then glanced for a Zoe quickly, and nodded to her, indicating she could stand down for the moment. Nathan then turned his attentions back to the scene unfolding before him, hoping the Venom wasn't going to lose his cool.

With the arrival of the Captain and who he could only assume was his First Mate, the situation in the cargo bay hadn't become nearly as interesting as Valafar had first suspected, at least the arrival of the Captain seemed to calm his attacker down a bit, which in itself is interesting. At least now he and his attacker now know one another’s names. Venom Starkiller. The name sounded familiar, Valafar began to remember the reason why he was branded. It was supposed to be Venom who was marked for the leadership of the clan, upon his departure and subsequent absence, the elders were forced to choose new participants for the trails of Clan Leader.
“Venom? So that’s your name. I do remember seeing you emerge victorious from the trails, when I was just a boy. It’s funny isn't it? When I was a mere boy, all I wanted was to be just like you. And now here we are, how many years later. It seems that we are very much alike in so many ways...”
Valafar let out a laugh that shook his entire body. Valafar knew that what he had just said would either cause Venom to become angrier or it would make him rethink things in a way that would eventually align with his way of thinking. As Valafar finished laughing he removed the goggles, as there was no point in hiding his eyes anymore. His red eyes darted around the cargo bay, taking each one of the occupants in, as well as giving them a chance to see his eyes. While Venom and the Captain didn't seem to react to his eyes, the woman did. A surprised look crossed her face and she took an involuntary step backwards. Now that was the desired effect he had been hoping for.

Upon the revealing of his eyes, Venom wasn't very impressed. He'd been around his former master for years. And his former master's visage was much more fear inducing than this Zabrak. As Valafar's laughter faded away, it was Venom's turn to laugh. It started as a small chuckle, then progressed to a near maniacal cackle.
"You think we are alike? That's amusing. We are nothing alike. But perhaps I don't need to convince you of that. Maybe I'll just show you..."
Venom clicked the safety on and holstered his pistol with his right hand while retrieving a slim, cylindrical device with his left. He held the device in the palm of his left hand for a few moments before transferring it to his right, gripping it in his gloved hand. His thumb slid over the activation stud, and the lightsaber sprang to life. The molten bronze blade hummed softly. Venom twirled the blade in a graceful arc around him, before extending his right arm towards Valafar once more, the tip of the blade stopping a few inches from his tattooed face. Undoubtedly, Valafar could feel the heat emanating from the blade at this point.
"You want to be like me, then perhaps I may have a use for you yet...provided you accept my offer. I have learned my lessons well from my former master. Despite being trained as a Sith, I know that on a personal level, no one is beyond redemption, provided they are willing to seek it. I propose an offer. You join with me and the crew that I serve for the time being. You do what I say, when I say it. Until such a time that I think you've redeemed yourself in our clan's eyes. If you refuse, I hack off your head, toss your body out the airlock and return to my former master. With your head as a trophy for killing the last living member of Clan Starkiller...that is my offer. Accept it or die. There is no other alternative."
Venom once again glared at the Zabrak before him. His golden tainted eyes glanced over at Nathan for a split second, then back to Valafar. His patience was wearing thin. And while he had no intentions of actually returning to his former master, Valafar didn't know that. Venom was fully prepared to slice his head off, though. With the anger and the dark side coursing through his veins after so long, he was hooked on it again. It was like a spice addiction. Once you started, it was incredibly difficult to stop. And once a person was clean for an extended period of time, starting again made it nearly impossible to give it up. And now that Venom had tasted the essence of the dark side again, there was no telling if he would turn away from it again...

Valafar watched as Venom ignited his molten bronze blade. Venom held the blade mere inches away from his face. Valafar listened to Venom’s proposal, it would seem as through Valafar had no choice but to agree to the terms that Venom spouted. There was no doubt that Venom knew a great deal of the force. Xander’s words echoed in his head about using these fools until they were no longer needed. Valafar grinned a menacing grin that would cause those besides Venom to experience fear.
“Your terms are most fair. I guess I should explain the real reason for my passage to Rhommamool. The reason why I was heading there is that I heard that there are many powerful Sith Holocrons. A weak Sith Lord let it spill as he was cut down.”
Valafar stood up and brushed the rest of himself off. Valafar waited for a response from either Venom or The Captain, who seemed to be unsure of what had just transpired base off of the look on his face. Valafar didn’t know for sure if Venom would believe the story he had just spun, but he could hope that he was of lower intelligence and would believe it. Valafar knew that now there was no reason not to wear his armor or have his saber equipped, so once they were done in the cargo bay he would go change, as civilian clothing was a nuisance.
