Description:
Based on the successes of the Resurgent-class Battleship and Vigilent-class Star Destroyer, the ship designers of the First Order went back to the drawing board once again. The Redoubt-class was born, taking design queues from the Vigilent-class and Gladiator-class Star Destroyer's. It compacted down the shape of the Vigilent-class, keeping its reinforce prow and lattice-work supports in the nose. Its bridge was kept low to the body of the Redoubt-class, to help prevent offering a tempting target for starfighters. This positioning meant it could be better armoured and reinforced against attack.
The Redoubt-class had a fairly sizeable but decent offensive capability between the guns that littered its hull, and the fact it could deploy 36 Starfighters rapidly. It also had a garrison of 200 Soldiers for holding off or conducting boarding actions against enemy vessels, or even for operations planetside.
