Cass looks at the woman, thinking he may have an opportunity to impress when the speech starts. It was being relayed on the com systems outside the venue. The man was good, a politician through and through. Had the rumors about him not so strong and in such agreement he would have considered working for him. He still might, things could line up that way. Cass didn't trust him, then again he really didn't trust anyone. He was able to see through the words though and see the undermining he was doing, but the general public would eat it up. The Senator of Ryloth was good at what he did, definitely someone Cass would like to be on good terms with. At least on the surface.

it might work better that way. Cass would be distrustful of the hte Jedi, but he would be unable to question the results. It would put him in an uncomfortable position.

Cass recalled the name and thought of the face. Ahh, he had met the man, briefly, during the unpleasantness at the the rotunda. What an interesting turn of events. He and I have met, for a few moments yeaster. I would love to speak with him further.

Someone whose actions are for the benefit of the people, someone who the ends matter too. But also someone who knows this is a galaxy that isn't a nice place. Someone who may not follow the narrow minded approach of the Jedi when it comes to means. No offense. He nods to the Jedi Knight What do you think? sound like someone you know?

I a word? Employment. I am a man of skills and standards. Skills that make possible clients wealth an issue, and standards that limit the character. I am not above doing dirty work some won't do. He looks at the Jedi. But I want to know why it's being done. A senator would fit the bill, possibly. The likelihood of a need for what i can do, and a possibility for someone with character exist within that profession, that don't exist in others. So you see my conundrum. I am out here, and the people I would like to meet are in there.
Cass looks at the Jedi knight, and points to his lightsaber So do I get that back yet? Or do you think you need to hang on to it a bit longer?

Cass' entire demeanor changes to the new arrival. Gone is the cocky kid, replaced with respect and charm. It is a pleasure to meet you my lady. The young man bows in reverence. I had hoped that tonight would lead to meeting someone of your status. I had counted the opportunity lost when the overzealous dog had me removed.

Something like that. Cass was not a fan of getting help from the Jedi. He would owe them one, if not the order this particular Jedi himself. Even if that was what he was hoping for. Cass was capable of handling off the books jobs, investigations, sabotage, even assassinations if needed. He was still a tactical genius, able to handle security and had some political savvy to get things done. Yes that was exactly what he wanted. But he could never bring himself to admit as much to the Jedi.

Cass looks the Jedi over again. He smiles, thinking it all out. I am not so sure telling a Jedi what I can do is in my best interest. Yes it is possible, probably likely that you know someone who could help me. However, there is really no reason too. You know I am a practiced Force user that doesn't subscribe to the Jedi's narrow view of the Force. This much I have admitted to you. You have my word that I am not your enemy, that I embrace the Light Side. But you have just met me tonight, you have no reason to believe me. Telling you what I can do is unlikely to earn me your friendship. Needless to say, I can't seem to imagine an upstanding Jedi Knight as yourself embracing a Powerful Force user, that can outthink most people he has met, with an ability to charm and win a crowd, that is willing to sell his talents to someone with the right amount of credits.

First the lightsaber... I can't truly prove to you that it is mine... But maybe this will convince you. Cass reaches out his hand to the place his seber was held inside the tunic. He didn't try to pull it away, that would have been a threat and wouldn't help the situation. He began to disassemble the weapon, very quickly in the with the Force. A task that was only possible if done an insane amount of times. He then pulled the pieces out as one and levitated them in front of Jordan. Everything was taken apart, the silvery blue crystal gleamed in the lights of the city. Then in one flick of the wrist the parts dove back together in perfect place and sequence. The hilt floats into Jordan's hand before the blade comes to life away for them both. If that doesn't convince you, I am unsure if there is anything else I can do. As far as why I am here. I need work. No i am not a Jedi, and no i dont want to be one nor would you people want me. I am not a sith, or dark side user either. I am devoted to justice and using every tool that can aid in it. Forbidden powers or techniques have no meaning to me, just the mindset behind them, what spurs them on. This was how I was trained. I wasn't joking when I said I had spent all of my last credits to get to this party. I expected to find an employer, someone that needed things done. I have skills that are valuable to the right people. The problem is you need more than skills to get to the right people. Tonight was my shot, and the Vor took it from me. I look forward to meeting him again. Now i am not sure what I am going to do. Does that answer your questions Jedi? Cass' face a blend of emotions. Annoyance, self assuredness, despair, and the slightest hint of regret.

Cass Raklin. Cass hesitantly shakes the Jedi Knights hand. Charmed to be sure. Ask away, I am an open book. There was sarcasm in his voice but also truth. He would answer all the right questions.

To Cass, being released to a Jedi was an improvement, be it marginal. It was going to be interesting how this plays out. Cass muscles out of the grip of the security and approaches the Jedi knight. He winks at Ar'lah. See you soon sweetheart. He gives a sarcastic bow to the Jedi Knight.SO i take it you are my new captor? Shall we be going then?

Bound and still with security, Cass waits for this all to work itself out. Still observing and taking in all of the information he can. Any young lady that catches his gaze receives a dose of charm.
Cass is slightly taken aback by the number and the ranks of the people that came to his defense. This was why he had chosen to come here. Good people with power, these were the people he could work for, to benefit them both. The Jedi did concern him, a little. He trusted they respected justice, and he had done nothing wrong, but still if this was a Jedi with something to prove or someone to impress this could be just the beginning.
The Senator/ Princess from Alderaan was truly stunning, and seeing her up close in that gown was a sight to behold. He couldn't help but give her a wink.

Cass calls out. A weapon they have yet to show I actually have on me, my ticket was purchased this afternoon apparently after the guest list had been finalized and is currently being held by the security chief, interestingly enough not submitted as evidence. The bothering, after being harassed by security and constant insisting that I had a weapon hidden on my person, I aided the officers in finding two that others had snuck in and immediately turned them into security staff. Interestingly neither individual has been detained, just the me. One unarmed citizen, who's dream it was to attend a party like this. I spent most of what I had to buy my ticket so that money could go to this noble cause. I am sorry for not being good enough for this event. Cass' face red from embarrassment and anger at himself for thinking he belonged here I wanted to help the people of Ryloth, but I guess I am not even good enough to do that. He fights back a sob. Crying.

Cass smiles. The crowd was starting to mermer. There had been no charge filed against Cass and they were taking him. This was not the actions of a Republic.
Your search has found nothing, and yet I am still under arrest? With no charge or grounds for a search either... This is very despotic of you. In view of all these people! You are brave.
The crowd begins to grumble directed at security. "This is a republic!" "There are rights" can be heard among other things.
It seems the people maybe be noticing... And it doesn't seem that they are too pleased...
