Umm. So I'm a friend of Dante Deveuax? Or however you spell it. It's French I think. Anyway, he recommended me to this site. He told me to tell you. The Fel crew that is. That his Father is in critical condition, and that he doesn't know when he'll be coming back to the site. His real life stuff is really crazy right now. Im part of his college writing group though! So if you need a free trader or something, you can always count on me! ^_^ Oh man. Sounds like he's navigating some rough seas. Huge hugs for Dante, I'll keep his father in my thoughts. Thanks for letting us know! We were worried about him. Also, hi Jinn, nice to meet you. Glad to hear everyone else seems to be doing alright though. Mom is starting to get the radiation side effects here, and I'm the only one home to help her out, so I'm kind of spread thin over here. My own surgery date is set for December 26th (Merry Christmas to me? I guess?), and I have a crap ton to do before then to prepare, but I'm trying to stay caught up with where everyone is in the meantime.

--Take down the Jedi, wipe out the Sith, and bring the 'verse under non-Force smuggler rule. Who's with me? (Chyeah. Like this'll EVER happen.) --Successfully write a character where no one knows who I am OOC. (Fat chance.) --Meet all my JvS friends offline. (In progress!) --Costume my characters at sci-fi conventions. (Okay, so this doesn't happen ON JvS, but it still counts, right?) --Use as many movie/tv references as I can in as many posts as I can. That goes for nerd swear words too. --Finally figure out Malora's past inside a JotW. To date I have absolutely nothing developed for her before she arrived on these boards. Would love to know where she came from. Came here with no goals, and I'm still here with no major goals. They throw my groove off when it comes to writing. I go with the flow, make the whole gorram thing a journey with no destination, and enjoy the wild ride.

Hi from Florida! Finally got my internet up 'n working. Left the Midwest behind for good about a week ago, and we have 750 boxes and 35,000 pounds of furniture to unpack/move around, so I'll have my hands full over here, but I'll try and get a post up this week. Mom's radiation/chemo treatment doesn't start until November 10th which gives us some extra time to move in before the chaos starts again, so provided I don't drown in packing paper, Mal should be moving along shortly. Until then, I'll be in my pool. In November. With no snow, sunny skies, palm trees, and temperatures at 75 degrees daily.

No need to flesh out your own dossier. ...Good, 'cause I haven't a frelling clue what would be on Malora's dossier. Was assistant to evil nutcase scientist splicer genius? Check. Wanted for theft/ arson/ murder/ bla bla bla? Check. Is catnip to all baddies everywhere? Double check.

*pokes head in* Is that Fel I saw? We're still on Telos IV, but not for long! I'm condensing scenes like a madwoman. 'nother couple of posts and I'll be crashing Wade's gladiator party...wherever that is. Still soloing the move to Florida / cancerous mother / mystery health condition / gallbladder problems / everything else, but I'm here!

The knife bounced off Frend with a twang and landed in the dirt at the machine’s feet, leaving just a tiny scratch on his exterior. Good, they didn’t need anything else to fix.
With Frend in position guarding the entrance and all the fleshies through the ‘magical’ archway, Malora led the tiny party down the stairs and onto the small platform. “Hands inside the vehicle and to yourself at all times, gents,” she said with a short but meaningful glance at Mack. Palming a small keypad at the edge of the wall, the platform sank rapidly into the ground. Malora’s ears popped as the sky above them shrunk quickly, her hair fluttering annoyingly around her face as their speed kicked up a decent wind. Sure don’t remember it being this fast before, we’re totally gonna crash and die, this was a horrible plan, she thought in slight alarm, but the lift slowed to a halt before it hit the bottom and everyone scrambled off the platform in one piece.
It was dark. Like, horror-flick dark. “Super, the automatic lights are still on vacation,” she grumbled, pulling her flashlight from her belt. “Lucky for us, there’s really no place to get lost.” Her beam flooded the narrow hallway, reflecting off the black stone walls and into the small room at the end. There was one way into this place, and one way out, and nothing but tech and building material clutter in between.
Finally. They were here. Answers were a few files away. Wade was a few files away.
Excitement bubbled inside her. Maybe this would be easier than she thought. They’d be in and out of here in no time, she’d have Wade back in a matter of weeks, and then… Then she was gonna find Fel. They were ALL gonna find Fel. Together. As a crew, a team, a band of ragtag friends that probably wouldn’t have been friends at all if not for the circumstances that had plucked them from their previous paths and put them all in one vase.
“Okay, Ozball,” she said, giving a few lightsticks a crack-shake and tossing them down the hallway, “you’re up!” By the glow of the green-blue-white lights, Malora charged down the passage, bag slung over one shoulder, torchlight beam jumping from wall to wall as she entered the room and scanned quickly. Enough room for a small scaffolding and plenty of boxes of tech, but not enough for an echo. The walls were still, surprisingly, a dust-free shiny obsidian, and it caught the colored light from the scattered lightsticks, pulling it in and spilling it long across the dark surface like a blurry portrait of the galaxy.
In the middle of the room was a large, circular terminal, partially covered by a few haphazardly thrown tarps, which Malora tore off enthusiastically. She slid her beam over the pylon. “Once you get into the system, Galen will know, so pull the info fast. I’d rather not be here when the Jekk investigate.” The lights and screens were as dark as the rest of the base, but she knew the terminal had a backup power system. “Here,” she said, handing Mack her bag and crouching near the base of the tech. There was a panel just under the side there, somewhere on the-..ah, right there. She pried it off and dug around in the stem of wires until she found the one she was looking for, pulled it up, connected it with the port, and… There was a thrum, and the pylon winked its lights at them dimly. Malora rose, pushing her hair back with a huff. “I have no idea how long that’s gonna last, so chop chop, tech-wiz.” She clapped Oz on the shoulder and scooped up her bag. “Find me Wade Connors, and I’ll give you whatever you want… ‘cept my-..our ship,” she said as she marched away, digging through the rucksack and returning with a handful of the explosives Liya had left her.
“Mack!” She didn’t have to look far. He was staring wide-eyed at the light reflections on the wall like it was the most interesting thing he’d ever seen. If she weren’t so stressed out, she would have smiled fondly at his familiar wacko behavior. “Hey! Mack! Look, bombs!” It took her a minute to snap him out of it, but the promise of things exploding in the near future finally drew the gunslinger from whatever trance he’d been living in for the past ten minutes. The smuggler piled his arms full of explosive and waved him off to the right of the room. “Place them strategically, okay? I want this whole room wiped off the map when we leave. And Mack? …Don’t blow anything up before we’re outta here.” She gave him one of her tiny, lopsided little smirks before taking her share of the explosive and heading left.
It took her another ten to set the boomsticks up, and five to make sure everything was in place on her end of the room before she went to check on Oz. “How’s it goin’?” she said, leaning over his shoulder and gazing at the pylon.

Just a quick update: my mom is finally out of the hospital today, and the surgery went well, but recovery is gonna be long and painful. But this means that instead of driving downtown all day every day, I'll be at home with her, so I'm hoping to toss up a post sometime soon. I'll be in and out as usual. Miss you guys.

Just a quick update (a couple of you already know this, but in favor of our 'keep in touch' policy...): It's been a long process, but my mom was diagnosed with cancer last week, and her first surgery is set for July 16th, so aside from all her move-prep responsibilities falling to me, I've been on 24/7 nurse duty since my dad is already in Florida working and my sister is at summer school. I'll still be around, but if my posting was sporadic before, it's gonna be double that now. If in a few weeks I see no opportunity for movement on my end of the plot, I'll conference with Mack and Wade and come up with a way to catch up to you guys without me. I HAVE been able to read some of the recent posts; keep up the amazingness, it cheers me up. -Lor

*thumb-twiddle thumb-twiddle* I'm goin', I'm goin'... >_> Most of you know this already, but I'll make it official: I'm moving to Florida in September! Which means lots of work if I wanna sell my house, so. I also have three out of state weddings to attend and about four more visits to Florida before things are settled. Bear with me. Haven't forgotten y'all.

Happy Easter, like, a few hours late. Draykon, always nice to see your nefarious smuggler mug on our thread! Since no one else has chimed in yet (super busy weekend for everyone), I'll be the first to say I'd be game for that idea. Our crews had some awesome dynamic. It'd be a total shame to waste all that smuggler rivalry, and I think it'd be good to write with you guys again before Fel takes his final bow. As far as the timing and such, I haven't a damn clue. XD We're absolutely tied up here for at least the next month. Fel might have some ideas though. I'll leave the rest to him! Edit: Oz, Mack, I'll work on that post come Tuesday if I don't come down with my mom's cold. Cross your fingers.

Also, Dante said it: Communication helps. I think all of us fell into a sort of...'roommate syndrome' when it came to talking. It happens when you live with someone long enough that you get so used to their presence, it's like you forget to communicate anything aside from the needed facts. At least, I fell into it. I keep up with Wade daily (perks of dating, don't judge!), and Liya and I talk on FB every few days, but I got so used to reading this forum and staring at everyone's posts and names that I forgot to communicate like a normal person. I've remedied than with Dan now, and I'll work on fixing that here as well. I was so close to the action that I lost touch. Not anymore.

Thanks, Dan, for explaining at depth. And thank you, Dante, for sharing thoughts that I'm sure most of us have been mulling over ourselves! Before I say anything else, I'm casting my 'vote' here. Mal and I are 100% for Recapturing The Magic we seemed to have lost. That ending you're talking about, Dan, be it death on the bridge of the UA surrounded by his crew, or Fel sacrificing himself for us in some epic battle... I want that. If you think Fel's time is up, then that's how he'll go out, I don't care if I have to get in a TARDIS and bend space and time. I don't care if I have to completely time-skip half a century. Why? Because Galdaart Fel deserves a good ending, especially in my book. You and I started this party years ago, Dan. It was Malora and Fel, us against the 'verse, the smuggler team infamous. We've racked up quite a history, been through the ringer IC and OOC time and time again, and you put together an incredible group of writers these past few years. This cannot just...drift away. It can't just end with no resolution, no closure, no send-off. You and the rest of us have worked too hard at this to just cut clean and leave. If you want to continue writing Fel, then let's do it, but if you think his time is up, then let's give him his due, and not just for his sake, but for the rest of us, too. We all need this. Malora needs this. I need it. I don't actually think we need a change in management. You are not unwanted, Dan. Not at all. We seemed to all be very happy with you and the front. We just sort of lost our way for a while. It happens. We CAN fix this. So. If Fel's story is over, let it be, we leave that choice in your hands. I, at least, will be there to give him that send-off you described if you decide he is done, and I will time-skip or condense to do it no matter where I am in my story. If Fel's story is not over and you want to continue for a while, I'm all for that too. We just need to keep communication open and flowing, and work on your frustration-expressing skills. XD Either way, I'd like Dan, please. In whatever form he chooses to appear. If Liya wants to captain, and you want to bring in a new PC after Fel, let's try it! If Liya doesn't wanna captain, well, just don't give the reins to me, I can't steer worth a damn. Just stick around, okay? As far as IC goes, if Liya does take over and we all form back up, Malora will stay with them, as long as there's still a UA crew, and as long as Jace doesn't buy any more of those kriffin' banana-beef protein bars.
