Rawkill, I don't see an issue with your proposal. I know I haven't really been around (and so probably no one cares what I think  ) but as a veteran of many Republic-type groups, I have found that things always get jammed up when you try to have too formal of an IC political structure. If every decision making process has to be made through an IC lense, it can quickly stop being any fun. Once it becomes a burden, people stop writing, and the faction is paralyzed. I recommend keeping things as simple as possible, and only RP the exact actions of the leadership structure when it benefits the SL or when you have writers who enjoy the politics. Most decisions can be made OOC first, and then happen "off camera" within the IC world. Your characters can react to those decisions though the chain of command. NPC leaders for the triumvirate will probably work better in most cases, so that you avoid burdening any one person (or three people) with the duty of keeping the story moving. |

The way I understood the proposal was for us all to be in agreement of our newly created "lore of the Galactic Alliance." I mean, that was my take, that all the planning and organizational work was just a way for us to define and frame the G.A. and at least have an accepted structure to reference. I couldn't imagine actually RPing every aspect of the government

Take it from me, I have departments as such, but no details beyond the broad spectrum.
I have an Imperial High Command, overall command structure for the entire First Order's navy and army. I also have an Imperial Intelligence, no sub-departments added on. I also have a sort of propagandist department, an Imperial Civil Services, military research and a conditioning department, led by Commissars, that indoctrinate personnel in the ideals of the First Order. Yet I don't rp those departments regularly, only in specific SLs.
So to Horkos, good work on the details. But like Kel'Al said, keep it simple. Keep it simply Galactic Alliance Judiciary Branch, keep it broad and rp the details when need be.

Yeah. The Galactic Alliance would not open itself to the nonsense of the previous Republic.
As I mentioned to Aer in chat. We'll have the systems in place if people wish to use them (executive, legislative, judiciary), but they will not necessarily be used by anyone, especially to the detail we may define them on a regular basis. The point would be that people would be able to write them out if they chose to write them out.
That way, if someone wanted to say... write an officer with a section of the Judiciary (one of the investigation departments), then there would be a framework they could refer back to.
And I'm pretty sure everyone has been very supportive of the major decisions being agreed upon OOC, and leaving the triumvirate as NPCs.
Beyond that, the plan was to have a couple writers designated OOC to monitor the actions of the NPC leadership so that we don't end up with people abusing the positions.

Here's my short little proposal on the format of the Galactic Alliance's Judicial Branch: Might want to change the 'sith' part to terrorist organizations. Otherwise you set up a bad precedent about going after other religious or fringe groups. |
