*Raine looked up at Telarial and spoke in a soft voice.* "I don't know how to be a big sister. That's something I never thought I'd have to do."

*Telarial smiled and gently wrapped an arm around her and gave her a one armed hug.*
"I don't either. I have a feeling it will be easier than we think. We will just have to learn together."

Lorcan purses his lips when Eimhin says he wants to see his mother, and nods as he looks at the battered photo the boy produces of his mother. Though Lorcan has never been sentimental himself - inheriting his mother's disdain for introspection and mourning things that cannot be recovered just as Faelan had inherited their father's penchant for feeling things more deeply than his icy cool exterior would suggest - he knows that that Eimhin needs something from him now, but feels at sea as he cannot think of what to say or how to put into words whatever it is he should be saying.
"You can't see her ner verd'ika, not ever again, Lorcan says simply after a moment, deciding to tell the truth, or at least what he believes the truth to be. She is gone, he says, nodding towards the crumbled photograph, but you have that to remember her by, and you also have, he taps Eimhin's forehead, your memories of her. Those will have to be enough now, Lorcan says, trying to remember something about Eimhin's mother to share, something for the boy to add to his memories. Smiling a bit distantly as he recalls how the blonde haired woman was nearly always singing, Lorcan asks, Did she sing to you ner verd'ika? Sing you asleep, sing when you woke? The sound of the woman's singing drifts into Lorcan's thoughts, as delicate and fragile as the woman herself seemed, and Lorcan says, Pick something every day to remember of her, ner verd'ika. Her laugh, her smell, her walk, the feel of her arms holding you, whatever you want to preserve in you memories, think of it until you can see, smell, or feel it."
Looking into Eimhin's eyes, so like his own, Lorcan says firmly, "And then you must set your memories aside, store them away so that they do not cripple you. Make a place for your memories, a place within, he taps Eimhin's heart, here where her memories are safely preserved for you take out when you wish to remember your mother. Pick a time each day to take your memories of your mother out, and to mourn that she is no longer here with you. But, he taps the tip of Eimhin's nose to emphasize his words, when the time for remembrance is done, you must forget until the time comes around again to remember. Your mother would not want you to be sad all the time ner verd'ika, would she? So you must not ever let her memory become associated only with sadness."

*The little adiik stuffs the photo of his mother back into his tunic pocket and struggles to hide his grief but of course, for one so young he fails, for his quivering lip and watery eyes give him away. Eimhin's wide, round eyes, filled to the brim with tears... finally close and a strangled sob escapes his throat as he hugs his buir. No further cries escape his throat although his tears continue to run freely as he presses his face against Lorcan's chest armor.*
"Elek...mama always sang to me. She sang many songs."
*The boy looks into his buir's eyes with a youthful, eager, hope.*
"Buir? At night time...will you sing me a song too?"

Lorcan holds Eimhin to his chest tightly, hoping that will do what words were not able to; as inexperienced a father as he is, Lorcan still understands that Eimhin's age will make his understanding and acceptance of the traditions and beliefs of the Mando'ade difficult at first, and that he will need to begin teaching his son of them all the same to lay the proverbial foundation.
Not wanting to mollycoddle his son for fear of the adverse effects it might have on his character, Lorcan sets Eimhin down after a moment, squatting to place them on eye level as he answers his question with a smile equal parts amused and indulgent, "Sure thing ner ver'dika, I can sing you a song."
"It will not be as pretty as your mom's singing Emm, that's for sure, Fionnuala says with a laugh as she squats beside Eimhin, and will probably sound like a wounded Wampa's wailing."
"Maybe you should sing for him them, Lorcan says, circling an index finger around his ear while looking at Eimhin and tilting his head towards Fionnuala to suggest that she is crazy. Looking over at Faelan, remembering that his brother has some musical talent, Lorcan tells Eimhin in a whisper, Or maybe we can get your ba'vodu Faelan to play his bes'bev for you sometime."

*Eimhin's tears stop and he wipes his face with the back of his hands and sniffles. When Lorcan sets him down and promises to sing for him, he smiles.*
"Vor entye, buir."
*He looks at Fionnuala when she tells him his father's singing will be terrible and gives her a curious look as if to say "how do you know?". When Lorcan gives him a nonverbal gesture to suggest that Fionnuala is crazy, he outright laughs, his eyes looking brighter as his former grief is momentarily forgotten. The child turns to look at Faelan a moment later and then takes a few tentative steps forward until he is standing a few feet in front of him. He cranes his head up to look at his uncle and tilts his head in question.*
"Ba'vodu? What's a bes'bev?"

Arching an eyebrow in mild irritation as he glances towards Lorcan - who shrugs his best what? what did I do now? shrug accompanied by an amused grin that makes it abundantly clear that he knows precisely what he has done - Faelan's looks at Eimhin after kneeling so that they are eye to eye, and begins to explain, "It is a flute . . ."
"Which can also be used as a wicked bladed weapon, Lorcan chimes in, lunging forward with his right hand holding an imaginary stabbing weapon, See, it has a sharpened end. Your ba'vodu once used his bes'bev to . . ."
Patting Lorcan on the arm, Fionnuala suggests, "Let's save that story for another time, and just stick to the music-making use of the bes'bev for now."
Lorcan nods, then grins as he swings his arm out and up as though wielding an imaginary club-like weapon, "Oh, and it can also be used as a bludgeon!"
"It's a flute," Faelan repeats his initial answer to Eimhin once more to underscore it, ignoring his younger brother's antics as he continues to enthusiastically act out several other combat oriented ways a bes'bev can be used.

*Telarial raised one eyebrow in suspicious surprise as she glances from Lorcan to Faelan*
"I didn't know you were musically talented, buir."
*With a mischievous smile she makes a gesture towards Eimhin*
"I'm sure we would all love to hear you play. Especially little Emm over there."
*Telarial was intrigued by Lorcan's revelation that the flute could be used as a weapon.*
"Will you tell me that story, later?"

*Eimhin gave Faelan a hopeful look*
"Can I see it? Will you play it?"
*The little adiik looked at his buir as he continued to make animated battle gestures and giggled rather cutely.*

Faelan shrugs nonchalantly when Telarial states she had not been aware of his musical talent, smiling as he reminds her, "I imagine we will have many such new things to learn about one another in the days to come ad'ika."
Giving Telarial a thumbs up when she asks to be told the story of Faelan's making use of the bes'bev's ability to be employed as a weapon, Lorcan then adopts an innocent expression as he sees his older brother scowling at him.
Chuckling at Eimhin's enthusiastic interest in the bes'bev, Faelan says, "If you'd like, and holds out a hand to guide his nephew towards his armory to show him the traditional Mandalorian flute; a musical instrument forged from beskar that, as Lorcan had demonstrated for everyone already, can also be used as a melee weapon. After playing a snippet of song for Eimhin, Faelan pointed out the sharp tip at one end of the instrument, ideal for stabbing, and then allowed the boy to hold it for a moment so that he could feel the sturdy heft of the flute, enabling it to be used as a club in addition to a stabbing weapon. Returning the bes'bev to it's place high on a wall out of reach of one as young and as yet untrained as Eimhin, Faelan says, I could teach you how to play and wield the bes'bev, if your buir approves of course. Would you like that?"

*The small boy nodded enthusiastically when his uncle agreed to show him the flute. Eimhin's small hand fit perfectly within Faelan's palm as the elder led him into another room. Once Faelan began to play, Eimhin's eyes lit up with awe struck wonder, for he had never heard such music before. His smile quickly grew when his ba'vodu actually allowed him to hold it. It was heavy, and at first the young child was afraid he was going to drop it. As he held it in his hands after Faelan demonstrated it's alternative use as a combat weapon, Eimhin gazed upon it with amazement. He was a little disappointed when uncle Faelan put it up high out of his reach. When Faelan asked him if he would like to be taught in the art of both playing and weilding the bes'bev, his childish features brighten as a wide smile appears and he nods in the affirmative, his delight in the prospect apparent.*
"Elek, ba'vodu...Gedet'ye!"**
*A yawn escapes him a second later and his stomach rumbles. The child puts one hand on his stomach, frowning as if the noise had offended him and then turned his attention back to his uncle with a serious expression that was quite reminiscent to Faelan's own. He lifts his arms up in the air, hands opening and closing, in a silent plea to be held.*
**Yes, uncle...please!

*Telarial whispered in Raine's ear before walking away to give her some privacy should she choose to speak with Lorcan about their possible relationship.*
"Now's your chance, kiddo. Go for it."
*As she ambled away, Telarial began to show signs of fatigue. She wearily returned to the couch and sat down, holding a hand to her bandaged ribs. Wincing slightly she rubbed a hand on her thigh as that aching pain returned. She reached for the mug she left on the caf table and refilled it with shig, the last of the pot Faelan had brewed. Looking up at Raichael, Telarial gave her a pained smile.*
"Thank you...for picking up my prescription."
*She released a sigh and ran a hand through her disheveled hair. Glancing in Raine's direction she asked her fellow clanswoman*
"Do you think Raine is Lorcan's daughter? "

Chuckling as, after yawning and putting a hand to his rumbling stomach, Eimhin holds his arms up to be held, he leans over to pick his nephew up, Faelan says, "I think you need some food and rest, in that order, before we begin any lessons of any kind," and then carries the boy into the kitchen, where he heats up a bowl of Gi dumpling soup for him, adding a plate of sliced Varos and a mug of Cassius tea after a few moments.
"Haili cetare," Faelan says, wiping his hands on a dishrag and watching Eimhin with a smile that is not without a hint of sadness in it as the sight of his nephew reminds him of when his sons were as young as his brother's son. Sitting down across from Eimhin with the mug of Cassius tea he had brewed for himself, Faelan chats with the boy as he eats, allowing Eimhin to guide the conversation, which hops from one subject to another in the random, seemingly unconnected way of all young boys. After Eimhin has eaten, Faelan carries the boy from the kitchen to get cleaned up for sleep, tucking him into Lorcan's bed and reciting the Resol'nare rhyme with him.
Raicheal, nodding as she says, "Ba'gedet'ye, when Telarial thanks her for having picked up her pain pills, arches an eyebrow as she reminds the girl gently, Speaking of your prescription, it will do you no good unless you use it. Not wanting to belabor the point, or repeat her earlier warning about allowing the pain to reach the point where the medication will take some time to relieve it, Raicheal purses her lips in thought as she surreptitiously looks towards Raine when asked if she thinks it possible that Lorcan has a daughter in addition to the son he has just learned he fathered. After a moment, Raicheal nods, There is some resemblance, certainly. Smiling briefly, she adds, And with Lorcan's rather . . . active social life, there is no denying that it is entirely possible she may be his ad."

*Raine watched Emm with amusement as he went about exploring and getting to know everyone. She remembered the first time she heard Faelan play the flute and it brought a smile to her face. Her attention was brought back to reality when Telarial mentioned that now was a good time to talk to lorcan. She watched Telarial walk away before turning to lorcan. Letting out a slow breath, she walked over to him. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out the holodisc from before.* "Lorcan, what I said earlier about you probably being my dad. Well, that wasn't a joke. See this." *She activated the image from earlier that showed her mom.* "That's my mom. You dated her almost thirteen years ago, I'm twelve. She didn't get married till over a year later. I really didn't think about it till I realized that I looked nothing like the guy called my father. You, of all people, were the last person to be with her from what I understand."

*The young lad ate his fill, once he was finished, he was a little messy. It was a good thing Faelan cleaned him up for bed. It reminded him of his mother. Once Faelan has him tucked into bed, little Eimhin reaches a hand out and grabs hold of his uncle's hand. He asks him in a sleepy voice.*
"Ba'vodu...can you tell me a story?"

*Telarial gave Raicheal a small smile and nodded.*
"You are right of course. Thank you."
*She took the bottle and popped one in her mouth and downed it with some shig. She made a disgusted face when she actually tasted the pill. Telarial didn't want to pry but couldn't help but eavesdrop on Raine and Lorcan's conversation, more than eager to hear and see Lorcan's reaction. She was ready to back up her young friend if need be.*

Lorcan grits his teeth when Raine approaches him and starts in with what he still believes to be an increasingly annoying joke, his brows knitting in irritation as he looks down at her as though he is about to unload on her verbally. His jaw remains clenched as the holodisc is activated and displays the image of Raine's mother, though the anger and frustration which had been building in his expression fades somewhat, replaced at first by recognition of the woman in the image, and then by concern as the realization that the joke is really not a joke at all begins to set in.
"Ok, Lorcan says somewhat petulantly after Raine has finished speaking, lifting a hand to run his eyes. Always better on the battlefield than in real life, Lorcan's first thoughts are of himself rather than Raine, and his temper flares up as he begins to feel hard done by by life rather than by his own choices, prompting him to flings his hands out at his sides while shouting angrily, So, what do you want from me?! Do you want me to take a test to see if your little theory is correct, is that it? Fine! Let's take a friggin' test! You want to drive in to Keldabe now and get it done?! Marching towards the door, Lorcan waves his hands in the air as he continues throwing a tantrum, Let's go right frippin' now!!"
Smiling as he sits on the side of Eimhin's bed, Faelan nods, "Alright, one story then. As he had with his own sons, Faelan tells a story that not only entertains, but informs the listener of their history and culture. Not knowing what Eimhin has been taught so far, Faelan decides to start at the very beginning, I will tell you of the Dha Werda Verda, the first of the Mandalorians. Our tale begins on Coruscant, where the Battalions of Zhell . . ." Continuing on with the story until Eimhin has fallen asleep, Falean winces as he hears the faint sound of his brother shouting in the living area, looks down to check that Eimhin has not been woken by the noise, and when he sees the boy is still asleep, tucks him and, with a weary sigh, begins walking back towards the living area.
Nodding when Telarial thanks her for the reminder, Raicheal waves a hand to convey the thanks are not necessary. Frowning as Lorcan begins yelling, Raicheal is about to get up and step in, only to be stopped when Fionnuala puts a hand on her shoulder to keep her from getting up.
"Oh, I got this, Fionnuala says, stepping in front of Lorcan and holding a hand up to stop him. Not moving even though Lorcan towers over her and glowers down at her with an angry scowl, Fionnuala says sternly, Stop acting like a child, talking to Lorcan like he is a child despite her admonition given that he is acting like one. You . . ."
Reaching down and picking up Fionnuala by the shoulders, Lorcan, having passed the point where he can be reasoned with, moves her aside as he growls threateningly, "Copaani mirshmure'cye? Stay out of this, this is between me and, he jabs a thumb over his shoulder towards Raine, her. Addressing Raine, Lorcan says, Come on, let's go! Let's settle this right the frell now!"

*Without thinking of the consequences of her interference, Telarial leaps to her feet in an instant and shouts in rage, moving to stand protectively between Raine and a very incensed Lorcan. She scowls and gives him a death glare that could rival that of Faelan's and points a finger at him.*
"I think YOU are looking for a smack in the face!! LISTEN to yourself! Just moments ago you were HAPPY that you have a son! Raine is a good kid and deserves a father! And judging by your current behavior...she deserves better." *She ended with a threatening growl and a non-verbal promise to bring great pain upon him should he attempt anything foolish, flaming in her eyes.

*Raine let out a growl that almost matched Lorcans. She could feel anger burning inside herself now, and that was never a good sign.* "Yes I want to settle this right now!* *He may have been twice her size, but she wasn't afraid of him at all. She wasn't going to back down.*

Lorcan glares back at Telarial as she steps between him and Raine, his fists clenching at his sides as she even goes so far as to point a finger at him, which only increases his anger. Lifting his own finger, Lorcan is about to jab it at Telarial's chest when he sees Faelan walking towards him with an icy calm stare that Lorcan knows means that his older brother has entered a very dangerous mood. Lifting his hands, palms out towards Telarial as though he wants nothing to do with her, Lorcan steps back from her to let Faelan know he knows all too well not to raise his voice, much less his hands, in anger with his precious daughter, and hisses at Telarial, "Whatever, this doesn't have anything to do with you, so back the frell off, then looks over at Fionnuala, who is scowling at him with her arms crossed over her chest, and says, You too, and then points at Raicheal, who has remained sitting but is looking at him with a disappointed expression all the same, to add for good measure, And you."
Glancing at Faelan, the only one present that Lorcan truly fears, and who's opinion matters most to him even though Lorcan would never admit it, Lorcan takes a deep breath to try and regain at least some of his composure, then flings his hands towards the front entrance after Raine says she wants to settle things now, saying in a forced polite tone, "After you! Marching towards the entrance, swiping the keys to Faelan's speeder from a table along the way, Lorcan says to no one in particular, We'll be back. Don't wait up."
