"Not red? Really? Lorcan calls out to Raine jokingly when she says that her initial thought about the color of her beskar'gam is to go with orange. Think it over some more," he adds with a chuckle while adding a matching poleyn, or knee guard, to the one he had found a moment earlier, to the pieces of armor he has set aside for Raine to consider including in the set she will put together.
Having found enough pieces of plastoid armor to make a decent first set of beskar'gam for both Raine and Eimhin, along with a grey half-shelter cape that is small enough to fit her and a green one for him, Lorcan motions towards the buy'ce, breastplate, codpiece, pauldrons, knee guards and gauntlets he had gathered as he says, "Now we try these on and see how you like them. Taking the time to show Raine and Eimhin how each piece is properly worn, Lorcan helps Raine put hers on after Eimhin has been geared up and is running around like a tiny lunatic to try his set out, and then steps back to appraise their work. While the breastplate will need a bit of alteration, and the gauntlets are not equipped with anything useful since providing a youngster with a rocket launcher or flame thrower is something not even Lorcan would consider, and the pieces will need to be repainted to Raine's liking, the set fits well and will enable Raine to learn about the proper care of beskar'gam while getting accustomed to wearing it. Nodding with a cheerful grin, Lorcan says, Not bad, ad'ika. Try moving around in it. What do you think? How does it feel?"

*Raine rolled her eyes when her buir asked why not red. Then she thought about it. Orange was a bright color, bright colors stood oit, which could make her an easy target.* "I'll think about it. Maybe a color that doesn't stand out so much."
*She listened to her buir as he explained how each piece was worn. Everything was slightly mismatched, but that could be fixed. With help from her buir, she finally got all the pieces put on and adjusted as best they could. She stretched some and moved about as she tried to get a feel for the beskar'gam.* "It's lot more than I'm used too. Like I'm not as flexible." *She took the buy'ce from the table and put it on. Thankfully with her shorter hair, the helmet was snug but not tight. She then turned to her buir.* "What do you think?"

"Lots of shades of orange to choose from, ad'ika, Lorcan points out as Raine stretches and moves around after donning her beskar'gam. Look at Fee's armor, for example, he waves a hand around searchingly, it's not, you know, florescent orange, but that, um, you know, darker orange, what is it called? Whatever, he shrugs after giving up on remembering the name of the color of orange that describes Fionnuala's armor, anyway, orange has a lot of, you knows, shades that wouldn't make you stick out like a sore thumb. So does red, by the way," he adds jokingly with a chuckle.
"You'll get used to moving in it after a while, Lorcan assures Raine, nodding and then giving her two thumbs up with a cheerful grin when asked what he thinks, I think it looks great, ad'ika! It'll look even better once we do some maintenance and paint work on it. Paint we'll have to get tomorrow or something, Lorcan says, walking over to Faelan's workbench and looking for the supplies they would need to clean and maintain the sets of beskar'gam they have put together for Eimhin and Raine, figuring there is no time like the present to do so. Go and find Em, and I'll show you guys how to clean and maintain your beskar'gam."

*'Fee's armor?'Raine thought. She could picture the womans armor, but couldn't think of the color.* "Burnt orange? Brick red?" *She figured she'd have some time to make that decision.*
*With the promise of getting paint in the morning, she went to find Em like her buir asked. She found him in the living room running about. After chasing him about, she finally caught him and carried him back to their buir. Em had grown a lot since he first came here, he was now half Raines size, which made carrying him difficult.* "Found..him. He's almost as big as me now." *She set him down by their buir and caught her breath.* "That's...not really fair. I'm going to be small forever."

"Yeah, something like one of those, Lorcan cheerfully agrees when Raine suggests a few possibilities for shades of orange that would not make her armor instantly make her an easily spotted target, More, ya know, on the rust or amber end of the scale than the bright, day-glo-shoot-me-now end."
Laughing with a shake of his head when Raine points out that Em is nearly as tall as she is and then whines about the possibility she will be small forever, Lorcan shrugs and says, "You'll be as tall as you were meant to be, ad'ika. Snorting a laugh, he goes on to point out, It isn't a contest," and then waves for them both to gather around the workbench so that he can continue his lesson about caring for their beskar'gam by showing them how to clean and maintain theirs.
As he is showing Raine and Em how to care for their beskar'gam, Lorcan teaches them the Resol'nare rhyme, figuring it is never to early to start teaching Em about the six tenets of their culture, and that it might benefit Raine as well even though she is a bit older. "Ba'jur bal beskar'gam, Lorcan chants along with Raine and Em for the fifth or sixth time as he helps them remember the rhyme after they have finished cleaning and doing a bit of basic maintenance on their beskar'gam and are properly storing them for the night, Ara'nov, aliit, Mando'a bal Mand'alor - An vencuyan mhi. After asking Em what the first line of the rhyme means and why education and armor are so important and then clarifying the points Em seemed to have a less than firm grasp on in simple terms his son will be able to understand, Lorcan asks Raine, What about the second line, ad'ika? What does it mean to you, not just the literal translation, but, you know, the why of it, at least as you understand it?"

*Raine sat down cross legged across from her buir. She couldn't help but let out a sigh as she spoke.* "I know. It's just...I'm tired of being the smallest out of everyone."
*She turned her attention from her height dilemma, to the lesson her buir was teaching them. The rhyme, in her mind, seemed a little childish, then again it was probably made for younger children anyway. She chanted along anyway, mainly for Em benefit. Once her buir asked her about the second line in the rhyme, she hesitated for a moment.* "Self defense? Well...I think it means defending yourself only if you haft to. Like if you're attacked, but kind of a last resort thing." *Then she gave a sheepish grin. She wasn't very good at the last resort part, mainly the teach them lesson now part.* "I'm not very good at that."

Shrugging his shoulder, and then appearing to wince as he realizes that may seem dismissive, Lorcan tries to think of something helpful and supportive to say and eventually comes up with, "Yeah, well, like, Fee is pretty small, so, you know, I bet you'll be taller than her one day, so you don't have to worry about always being the smallest. Probably. 'Cause Fee is, you know, really, really tiny."
Glad for the change in subject when they move on to other matters, Lorcan is on firmer ground when Raine says that she is not always good at making resorting to self defense a last resort, and so grins cheerfully and says, "Yeah, well, see, the thing is, you sound like a Jedi or something when you say all that last resort stuff, not that there's anything wrong with that, but the line doesn't have anything to do with it having to be a last resort, it just means that you have to be able to defend yourself, like, you know, you have to learn hand to hand and armed combat. Pursing his lips in thought as he realizes that maybe he should go into more depth than the rhyme's simplistic list does, Lorcan says, Which isn't to say that you should just go around kicking shebs just 'cause you can. So, he chuckles, yeah, maybe you do need to work on the whole last resort part. A little anyway. Don't, you know, wait to defend yourself until it's already on and poppin', right? I mean, sometimes you just freakin' know that it's gonna go down, right? And, in those times, it's perfectly alright to be the one to throw the first punch or take the first shot. Nodding, grinning confidently in a way suggesting he believes he has been absolutely clear, Lorcan asks, Make sense?"

"I know. Although, saying I'm going to be taller than Fee isn't setting a high bar." *She gave a sheepish grin at her joke before letting out a sigh.* "Okay, bad joke."
"I think I got it. You can defend yourself, even if you throw the first punch. Just don't go looking to start fights." *Her gaze went to the floor for a moment before turning back to her buir.* "I've been trying not to get into fights. Which has been going well, since, you know, we haven't been on planet long enough for me to."

Holding up a hand for a high five after Raine's, in his opinion hilarious, comment about setting a high bar, Lorcan grins and says, "Nice one, ad'ika!"
Laughing and, for once managing to resist the urge to ruffle Raine's hair, Lorcan says in a tone that makes it clear that she, so far, has no need to worry about her uncanny ability to get into fights due to the fact she appears to attract trouble even when not actively seeking it, "I think you got it now, but we may have to work a lil' on the not getting into fights part from the sound of things. That, he jokes, or just make regular trips offworld so that you're never around long enough to get into any. Chuckling as waves for Em and Raine to follow him into the kitchen, Lorcan says, Not that going offworld appears to keep you out of trouble either."
Deciding to add cooking a traditional Mandalorian dish to the day's instruction, Lorcan has Raine and Eimhin help him make a pot of Gi dumpling stew and a batch of haarshun bread.

*Raine gave her buir a high five before following him into the kitchen. She almost gave a shiver at the thought of going off world so soon.* "I don't feel like getting my arm almost torn off again. Maybe we should visit more populated planets, ones held by a one of the clan leaders."
*She wasn't very good at cooking, since it was a skill she never attempted to learn. But she helped her buir and Em as best she could.*

Laughing as much as wincing when Raine jokes about her arm, still feeling guilty that what was supposed to have been a simple and possibly even fun visit to Yavin, instead, proved to be an experience he is sure they would all rather put far behind them, Lorcan manages to joke, "Yeah, let's try to avoid any loss of limbs or other injuries in the future, what do you say? With a new Mand'alor having been recently selected, Lorcan can only hope that greater unity between the various clans will be made a priority, and he looks, for him, almost reflective and thoughtful as he says, Visiting other clan held worlds might be a good idea though, never hurts to get to know those you might be fighting beside one day."
Once the meal is ready and they are all seated and passing around the dishes, Lorcan, remembering that Raine had wanted to contact Telarial and Faelan at some point, asks, "Do you want to try to get in touch with your ba'vodu and Telarial after we eat? See how they're doing on Agamar and, he cringes theatrically, let them know all about our exciting misadventure on Yavin?"

*Raine was glad her buir agreed on visiting friendlier planets than Yavin IV.* "I'd rather not be put in that kind of situation again." *She said as she piled food on her plate. In all honesty, she was a little nervous to actually go off world again. She perked up some when her buir mentioned her uncle and cousin.* "Yeah! They haven't been home or even called in a while. We gotta tell them what they're missing!"

Lorcan laughs, as glad to see Raine's enthusiasm and happiness as ever, especially in light of all that she has been through recently, which might have led others to fall into depression or despondence. "Let's get things cleaned up, Lorcan says as he stands and starts bringing dishes to the sink, and then we'll try to reach them."
After they have restored order and cleanliness to the kitchen and dining area, Lorcan sets up a holoprojector and, after fiddling with it for a few minutes and then asking for Eimhin, who has shown a fondness and aptitude for dealing with computers and electronics, for help, manages to get in contact with Faelan, currently on Agamar with his daughter, Telarial. Lorcan and Faelan speak for a few minutes, a conversation that, in essence, amounts to Faelan speaking briefly, in his uniquely terse way, about what he has been up to and then asking how Lorcan and his children have been, which is followed by Lorcan replying, "Fine. Hey, Raine wanted to talk to you," and then tugging Raine over to where the holoprojector can capture her image so that it is transmitted to Agamar.
The image of Faelan's head and shoulders is quaking slightly as he laughs at his brother's typically short and uninformative contribution to the conversation when Raine is pulled over, and Falean greets her in Mando'a, Su cuy'gar, ad'ika. Me'vaar ti gar *? The playfully surprised intonation and expression Faelan uses while speaking the first part of his greeting makes it clear that he means to make a joke based on the literal interpretation of the phrase, expressing surprise to find that Raine is still alive despite having been left in Lorcan's care; the idea of his younger brother being a parent something that obviously still amuses Faelan given Lorcan's previously carefree lifestyle. The second phrase is delivered without the bantering tone of the first, making it evident that Faelan is asking Raine for a detailed sitrep, most probably due to the fact that Lorcan's own answer had been so uninformative.
* Hello. How are you?

*Raine helped her buir clean up as quickly as she could. Luckily it didn't take long, since they didn't dirty a lot of dishes in the process.*
*Once the kitchen was clean, she darted out into the living room to where her buir was trying to set up a holoprojector, with the help of Eimhin of course. This made her laugh, the fact that her buir needed her younger brother to help him, then again she didn't know how to work it either. Finally, they got it working and made contact with her uncle on Agamar. After her buir exchanged greetings with Faelan, he turned the attention to her as he pulled her in front of the holoprojector.*
*She gave a small wave as her uncle greeted her.* "Su cuy'gar, ba'vodu Faelan. Yes, I'm still alive." *When her uncle asked how things were going, Raine took a deep breath. She had a lot to say and was going to do it in a short amount of time.* "I'm doing okay, except it turns out that I have a bad lung infection that was making me cou and short of breath. But Ro gave me medi for that, so that's okay now....I think. Then we had to go to Yavin IV to look for some people that went there on a scouting mission. After we got there my buir went to a village to ask some questions, and while he was gone our ship was attacked by pirates. I managed to hide Em, but I was captured and taken aboard their ship. Luckily I managed to escape, but then I got lost overnight in the woods. Fortunately there was a cargo container for me to hide in during the night. Unfortunately, the next morning, I was attacked by a Nexu. The thing almost ripped my arm off! See!" *She held up her right arm to show him the scars.* "I had to have surgery, so it's almost all synthetic stuff. It's still kinda sore and feels weird, but I still have an arm. Oh! I also got beskar'gam today and a blaster pistol!"
*Raine's entire rundown of what happened was told all in one breath, in the entirety of a minute or so span. Even under all the toughness and fierce nature, Raine was still a teenage girl, which was now being shown for how quickly she had spoke. She wasn't sure how her uncle would take the news of his niece almost dying, hopefully better the Fee, for her buirs sake anyway.*

Fortunately for Faelan the time he has spent with Telarial, who shares Raine's penchant for enthusiastic and rapidly delivered information dumps when possessed of enough news that she is eager to share, has prepared him well for following along with all that his niece shares, impressively done so in what he is quite sure was only a single breath. Though he had looked concerned when Raine spoke of her lung infection and injured arm, Faelan is laughing as he nods once she has finally taken a breath; for he is already planning to speak with Roisin about how concerned he should be about Raine's infection and arm when she and Fionnula arrive on Agamar. And, I see, Faelan jokes, that you even found time to cut your hair while all of that was going on. It suits you, he says, still smiling even though his amused laughter has subsided, finding himself enjoying hearing from his brother and niece after having been apart from them for so long.
Following Raine's example, Faelan decides to keep the tone of their conversation light in spite of what she has been through, and so says, Beskar'gam and a blaster pistol? Good things for someone your age to learn to use and care for. Have you decided on a color scheme for your beskar'gam yet?
"Red, of course!" Lorcan calls out from where he is sitting on a sofa, shaking his head to let Raine know he is only kidding.

*Raine was relieved to see that her uncle was taking the news of her injuries better than Fee and Ro had. She laughed and lifted her shortened bangs before letting them fall back into place.* "Yeah! It was getting a little long. So...I shortened it." *She paused for a minute, thinking on what color she would choose for her beskar'gam. Her buirs suggestion made her roll her eyes.* "I'm not sure yet. Probably something that doesn't stand out real brightly. Maybe green?"

You have plenty of time to decide on a color, Faelan points out, and can always change it later. Remember, too, that any color has shades that won't stand out. Setting the discussion of color schemes aside, Faelan speaks a bit about what he and Telarial have been doing since arriving on Agamar, including their encounter with an aruetii woman named Delilah, a mechanical engineer working on a project involving the construction of updated Bes'uliiks, asks, What of your brother? How has Eimihin been? Staying out of trouble, or does he share your uncanny ability to get into it with ease?
Lorcan, standing up with a yawn, stretches and rolls his neck before pointing to the kitchen and mouthing to Raine that he is going to make a pot of shig, asking if she wants a cup as well, and then leaves the living room to make it as Raine and her uncle continue to talk.

"That's what Lorcan said to. So, I'll decide later." *Raine's focus turned to Delilah when Faelan began talking about her. She held her laughter as best she could. At least until her buir asked if she wanted a cup of shig. She gave a nod yes as he left the room. Her attention turned back to her uncle when he mentioned Eimhin.* "He might actually behave better honestly." *She disappeared for a second as she caught her brother. Well, struggled really as he squirmed and struggled to escape. Raine got him mostly in camera view before he broke free and took off. She gave an angry huff and sat back down on the couch.* "Sometimes anyway." *She turned back to Faelan.* "So, Delilah, is she your girlfriend or something?"

Faelan laughs when, after Raine manages to capture her younger briefly, he scampers away after being in the view of the holoprojector for only an instant. Well, tell him his uncle says hello from Agamar when he catch him again. Smiling when asked if Delilah is his paramour, Faelan tries to remember when he was young enough that forging new relationships was as easy as Raine must still find them to be, answering the question with a chuckle, Or something is probably more accurate. We only met one another a short while ago, and circumstances have not allowed for us to spend a great deal of time together as of yet. Faelan does not add that he has felt, ever since the death of his wife and sons, as though their loss left him with scars and a hollowness within him that he suspects renders him incapable of offering anything to any potential paramour in the unlikelihood that he finds one, seeing no need to burden Raine with such thoughts.
What about you? Faelan asks with a smile that indicates the question is as much a joke as anything, Have you made any new friends or somethings while I've been away?

"I will. Once he calms down, anyway." *So Delilah wasn't his girlfriend, but he didn't say she might not be in the future. This was something she would just have to put off till something actually happened.*
*Raine gave a small frown when Faelan asked if she had made any friends recently.* "No, we've been to busy for me to make friends. Besides, I'm...kinda bad at making friends."
