*Telarial's next response is softer, her anger still present but not as volcanic as it had been seconds ago, and says to him*
"This matter does concern me, uncle. We are family. And if Raine is your ad, then she is my cousin."

*Raine battled to keep her emotions under control, mainly her anger. When Lorcan gestures towards the door and says that they're going to settle this, Raine didn't hesitate 5head outside and climb inside the speeder. They were going to figure this out one way or another.*

*Eimhin jolts awake when the shouting out in the living area reaches incredibly loud volumes and sits up in bed. Ice cold fear courses through his veins, paralyzing him when he recognizes the enraged voice of his father. His breathing quickens as a panic he'd never felt before begins to overwhelm him, bringing tears to his eyes.*

Snatching his buy'ce from the arm of the couch, Lorcan ignores Telarial completely as he lifts it onto his head and stalks from the vheh'yaim, dropping without a word into the speeder and starting it without so much as glancing at Raine. At first clutching the steering yoke so tightly it almost feels he will snap it, Lorcan slowly calms down enough that he recognizes he had lost control again, and he berates himself for handling the situation so poorly. Not turning his head so that it seems he stares only at the road ahead as they speed towards Keldabe and whatever answers lay ahead, Lorcan looks at Raine, admitting to himself if not to her that Telarial was right, she does deserve better if he is truly her father as she believes. Finding himself thinking about his feelings and feeling sorry for himself only increases Lorcan's sense of self-loathing and anger, and he pushes the speeder to its maximum speed so that they reach the city and the truth as quickly as possible . . .Walking to Telarial's side and putting his arm around her shoulder after Lorcan and Raine have gone, Faelan, who has apologized enough for Lorcan in the past and has learned it solves nothing, does not apologize to his daughter for her uncle's behavior, instead comforting her silently for a moment before he asks in a concerned tone, "Are you alright ad'ika? You should probably get some rest. Things should calm down when there is no more doubt as to how things are."
"I'll check on Emm," Fionnuala says quietly, doubting that the boy had been able to sleep through the heated shouting, walking from the living area. Sitting on the bed beside Emm, Fionnuala shushes him gently, pulling him to her when she sees his tears, and whispering reassurances to him while she rocks him gently and strokes his hair to try and get him back to sleep.
"I should go," Raicheal says as she stands, nodding a farewell to Faelan and Telarial after glancing with a hint of disapproval at Fionnuala as the diminutive woman goes to check on Lorcan's son; to her it seems more appropriate that the family be left alone, but as she feels it is not her place to point that out to Fionnuala, holds her tongue.

*Telarial releases an aggravated sigh that came out as a half growl and shook her head. With a clenched jaw and tightened fists, she looked at Faelan with anger burning in her eyes despite her calm front and admitted to him softly.*
"I can't rest. Not after that. I'm going for a walk..."
*Not waiting for his response she began walking for the front door, wishing Raicheal farewell in passing.*

*Despite Fionnuala's attempts to comfort him, his tears do not debate. In his distress, his sobs grow louder. In between ragged breaths, as his body continues shaking from the fright he'd endured, he cries out, wailing for his uncle Faelan.*

Resisting his natural inclination to follow Telarial, to watch over her even if she does not wish to talk, Falean is spared the need to fret over the decision when he hears Eimhin calling out for him, and, after Raicheal nods to, as their long time having known one another enables them to say a great deal with so simple a gesture, let him know that she will make sure that no harm comes to Telarial, makes his way to Eimhin's room.
Sitting on the opposite side of Eimhin as that Fionnuala choose, Faelan says gently, "It's alright, and nods to thank Fionnuala as she hands the boy over to him, hugging Eimhin to his chest as he continues to speak softly and reassuringly, There's no need to worry, everything is alright now," along with other words of comfort and reassurance to try and help the boy return to sleep.
Raicheal, putting on her buy'ce and lifting her hooded scarf over it afterwards, walks outside, keeping her distance from Telarial in respect for what she assumes is the younger woman's wish to be alone, as she subtly begins to watch over her friend's daughter, leaning against the side of her airspeeder as she prepares to wait for as long as it takes.

*Eimhin's sobs are reduced to hiccups, his cheeks now red, having been stained with so many tears. Snot runs out of his nose and he wipes it off on his sleeve as his uncle continues to hold him. Soon, he tires himself out and his cries cease. He blinks blearily at his uncle Faelan, and as his ragged breathing forces him to pause between words, he asks Faelan for something he has not had since before his mother's passing, in a squeaky voice.*
"Ba...ba'vo...du...can you plea...ease sing me... a song?"
*He snuffles Faelan's chest and cuddles with him, one of his small hands grasping part of Faelan's shirt.*

*As soon as Telarial was outside, she immediately inhaled the clean, crisp, cool night air. The stars were out high in the sky and the full moon bathed the world in a soft, ethereal glow. She began to pace to and fro as she struggled to reign in her raging emotions. She ignored Raicheal for a few minutes until at last she stopped her pacing and turned to face the elder woman, throwing her hands up as if to air her grievances.*
"Was I out of line? In a way I feel like I was...but at the same time...I don't regret my actions or a single word I said."
*Her pacing resumed and she began to speak in a manner that suggested she was not only speaking to the other clanswoman but voicing her inner thoughts as well.*
"I know I just met Lorcan...and that we are not family by blood. Did you hear the way he spoke to me? See the way he looked at me? Argh!"
*Her pacing came to a screeching halt as an epiphany struck her. She turned a worried frown to Raicheal.*
"Do you think Lorcan hates me? Since I first met him...I don't even think he likes me...on some level, I'm sort of afraid to face him after what happened."

Nodding with a smile when Eimhin asks to be sung a song, Falean says, "Of course, and after pausing to think of what song he might sing, clears his throat after selecting one he believes appropriate as it compliments the story he had told the boy earlier. You remember the Dha Werda Verda I told you of earlier? This is a war chant that reminds us of the Taung, our progenitors and the founders of our culture, so that their deeds may never be forgotten. Closing his eyes, Faelan begins to sing in his untrained yet not entirely unpleasant voice, singing not the original song, but the more widely known reinvented version of it, in Mando'a, completing the song softly even after Eimhin has fallen asleep,
Taung sa rang broka Mando'ade ka'rta. Dha Werda Verda a'den tratu, Manda'yaim kandosii adu. Duum motir ca'tra nau tracinya. Gra'tua cuun hett su dralshy'a.
Kom'rk tsad droten troch nyn ures adenn. Dha Werda Verda a'den tratu, Manda'yaim kandosii adu. Duum motir ca'tra nau tracinya. Gra'tua cuun hett su dralshy'a."
Raichel lets Telarial speak without interrupting her, having always believed allowing one to vent can often be more productive than any well intentioned advice or comfort that is offered to them. Shaking her head, Raicheal speaks in a certain tone, trusting what she says as she has known both Lorcan and Faelan long and well enough to speak to their behavior with more authority than most, ::He does not hate you, Telarial. He does not like that you are bold enough to point out his flaws, that is all. His anger with you is really with himself, and it will pass. Lorcan does not respond well to not being in control, and he will lash out at anyone near him when he feels overwhelmed or frustrated as he must be feeling with so many new responsibilities being placed upon him with no time for him to take in all that it means to have become a father. Be patient, give him time, and I think Lorcan will rise to the occasion as he often does. With a barely audible chuckle, she adds, You were not out of line though, Lorcan quite often needs his friends and family to point out when he is being a di'kut.::

*The little adiik is mesmerized by the words of the song, one in which he'd never heard before. The soft voice of his ba'vodu singing, lulls him to sleep. He drifts off into pleasant dreams, all the while curling up in Faelan's hold. His tiny chest slowly rises and falls with each shallow breath as the heat radiating from his uncle's body, makes him feel safe and warm. The hand that had previously been clutching Faelan's shirt slackened and fell down to his side. Soon the child was lightly snoring.*

*Telarial finally nods as she releases a relieved sigh.*
"Good. Because I'd hate to be his enemy. I feel kinda guilty now...being so hard on him. Finding out he has two kids he never knew he had in one day...sheesh, I can only imagine what he must be feeling if I look at it from his perspective. It must be a lot for him to take in. I think...I think I know of a way I can make it up to him. I'll remember everything you've just shared with me. Thank you for listening."
*With a smile, and a slight bounce in her step, Telarial went inside Faelan's home and went straight to the kitchen. She began to bake her mother's famous recipe for Uj'alayi, or Uj cake, one that she'd memorized since her early childhood and before long...the delicious desert is baking away in the oven.*

Raicheal nods when Telarial thanks her, waving a hand as is often her custom when thanked to suggest the gratitude is unnecessary. Watching until Telarial has gone inside the vheh'yaim, fulfilling her promise to Faelan to watch over Telarial, Raicheal steps into her airspeeder and returns to her own home.
Faelan holds Eimhin after the boy has fallen asleep, his openly vulnerable expression which contains as much melancholy as it does love for the nephew he holds making Fionnuala feel that she is intruding upon a moment she has no place in. Moving as quietly as she can, Fionnuala exits the room, tucking her buy'ce under an arm as she peers into the other rooms of the vheh'yaim to find anyone to let know she will be leaving. Smelling the Uj cake beginning to bake, Fionnuala pokes her head around the corner of the kitchen, the metal bands around several of her blonde dreadlocks tinkling softly as she tells Telarial, "I'm gonna barycir, * pauses to close her green eyes and inhale the scent of the cake with a smile, and then cheerily waves as she chipperly says, Ret'urcye mhi," before turning and making her way outside to her vehicle.
* deploy

*Telarial smiles when Fionnuala wishes her good-bye, she makes her a promise in parting.*
"Next time you stop out in these neck of the woods, I'll be sure to bake one of these just for you."
*After the other woman has gone, Telarial keeps careful watch of the time. After about twenty minutes, she pulls the freshly baked Uj cake out of the oven, switches it off and leaves it out to cool. The exhausted teen finally collapses on the couch and falls asleep almost immediately.*

Gently laying Eimhin down, Faelan stands, careful not to wake the boy, and after pulling the covers over Eimhin's shoulder and tucking him in, walks from the room and back into the living area of the vheh'yaim, smiling when he sees that Telarial has fallen asleep on the couch. Not wanting to wake his ad, Faelan takes a blanket and pillow from a closet to make Telarial's sleep as comfortable as possible.
Head tilted to the side as he smells the scent coming from the kitchen, Faelan finds the freshly baked uj'ayali cake left out to cool a moment later, cutting a small slice for himself after debating whether or not he should wait for the morning instead. Grunting his approval of the cake after taking a bite, Faelan frowns when he hears his comlink buzzing softly to alert him to an incoming transmission. Taking his comlink from a pouch on his belt, Faelan has a brief conversation with Torin Bralor, alor of clan Bralor, regarding Faelan's redeployment to Agamar in the coming days. Tapping his comlink on the side of his thigh after the conversation has ended, Faelan glances at the wall chrono and decides that informing Raicheal and Lorcan of what he and Torin discussed can wait until the morning, finishes his slice of uj, and after checking in on Telarial and Eimhin a final time, goes to his room to sleep.

*About three hours after Faelan had tucked him in, Eimhin awoke in the middle of the night. He had a terrible dream and he was shaking as he tried to calm his ragged breathing as his eyes darted around the darkened room as though searching for the monster that had tried to kill him. He heard a creaking sound coming from beneath his bed and in a flash, he bolted out of the bedroom and ran to Faelan's room. He whimpered as he crawled into bed beside his ba'vodu, seeking his protection, and cuddled up against him with tears in his eyes. He hated being alone...and waking up in a strange new environment, let alone in the dark, more than frightened him. His voice came out in a squeaky whisper...he had to tell his loving uncle about the monster...otherwise it might come to eat him too.*
"Ba'vodu..."
*When Faelan continued to slumber, his soft, innocent voice grew a little louder as he clung to the elder Mando'ade as though his life depended on it.*
"Ba'vodu...I'm scared..."

*Telarial's eyes flew open and with a gasp she bolted upright from where she had been resting comfortably on the couch. The Uj cake!! Her addled brain, fogged over with sleep, prompted her to race into the kitchen, having forgotten that she had long since removed the Uj cake from the oven. Checking to see that the oven was indeed off, if only to reassure her troubled mind that Faelan's vheh'yaim wasn't going to burn down, sighed in relief. Blinking blearily, she looked down at the Uj cake and noticed a piece of it was missing. Ruling out the little adiik due to Eimhin's small stature and the height of the counter top where the Uj cake was cooling, grinned when she realized the culprit to be none other than Faelan. A part of her felt slightly disappointed that she had missed his reaction upon taking the first bite but smiled nonetheless.
She returned to the couch and saw the blanket and pillow and smiled when she realized that Faelan had most likely tried to make her more comfortable while she slept. After many failed attempts to return to sleep, she decided she was hopelessly awake, so went about polishing and cleaning her Westar-34 blaster pistols and even pulled out her X-45 sniper rifle.*

Reaching up with one hand to rub his eyes tiredly, Faelan puts the other around Eimhin's shoulders to comfort him, saying after a yawn, "Well, you have nothing to fear here ad'ika. I'm here, and, he sits up and brushes his long, currently unbound dark red hair back from his forehead, won't let any harm come to you if I can help it, you have my promise. After he has soothed the boy enough that it seems possible to ascertain what gave rise to his distress, Faelan asks, Now, what it is that woke you ad'ika? Do you remember? Was it a bad dream? A strange noise?"
Outside of the vheh'yaim, Lorcan looks over at Raine after he has brought the airspeeder to a stop and powered it down, rubbing his chin as he says somewhat awkwardly, "Right then, here we are, home again, home again . . . Pursing his lips as though considering what else he might want to say to the daughter he has only not so long ago learned he has, Lorcan ultimately decides that trying to mark the occasion in some way would seem forced and false, and so instead hops from the speeder to start heading inside as he cheerfully says, What a day, am I right? Let's get some rack time, huh?"

*Raine was glad to hear that Lorcan didn't distrust force users. She gave a mental sigh at the thought. Stepping out of the speeder, she turned to look at Lorcan...well..her dad anyway.* "Yeah, it kinda has been. I could do with some sleep." *She entered the house and saw Telarial sitting on the couch. With her tiredness leaving her. Raine pulled the piece of paper from her pocket and ran over to the other girl. Holding it up in front of Telarial with an almost proud smile.* "Take a look!"

*Eimhin was relieved when Faelan awoke. When asked about what had been the cause for his fear, his eyes watered and his breathing quickened.*
"There was a really big monster...a rancor!! And it was trying to eat me!"
*With a whimper, he burrowed his face against Faelan's shirt and his next words though muffled, were clearly distinct.*
"My room is dark and scary...I heard a noise under my bed. I think there was a smaller monster under there..."
*He lifted his head to look his uncle in the eye and resorted to begging. He employed his 3 year old charm in the hopes his uncle would grant him his request. With hope filled eyes he asked Faelan the question, with a silent, pleading look that could melt the hearts of any beholder.*
"Ba'vodu...can I sleep here with you tonight?"
