Brielle smiles when Lucien describes his vision for the future of the Jedi on Ossus, "From what Master Berfen has said about the progress being made in the restoration effort, I imagine that day will not be too long in coming, High Lord."
Taking a moment to look at what can be seen of Knossa in the distance, trying to see the future that Lucien sees, Brielle says, "I will have to visit Knossa when I get the chance, explaining, One of the reasons I wished to participate in the student exchange was to learn more about the Jedi Lords of today, and how they might differ from their historical counterparts. For instance, do the Jedi Lords have plans for securing other undefended worlds once Ossus has been restored and secured?"

Followed after Lady Valhalla, glancing at the two guards who accompanied them. They didn't bother her , after all she had spent most of her life in the Jedi Order. Once they reached a dining hall Synala picked up a tray and fell into the queue for food. She picked a spiced soup and sat down opposite Aurora. There were a couple other Jedi sitting on the table and just by looking, Synala figured they were Masters. She brought up a spoon of soup as the Lady spoke and she nodded Once they finished breakfast, Aurora took the lead back to the transport with a short stop off to Synala's quarters to collect any of her belongings that were there. Once done, the small group continued on back out to the landing pad where the Transport was still waiting. Once everyone was aboard it took off and headed for the rebuilt Great Jedi Library of Ossus

For instance, do the Jedi Lords have plans for securing other undefended worlds once Ossus has been restored and secured?" Already, the young Jedi Initiate was desiring to understand the Jedi Lords. She was an inquisitive one and that was a good thing as it meant that she was an eager student. She did want to know and understand what the future plans were for this Ossus Conclave. We once had holdings in various parts of the galaxy. From Serenno, we had controlled Yavin IV, Ossus, and Lianna. This had occurred during the reign of their founder, and his predecessor, Everett Stone. After the death of High Lord Stone, however, I decided it best to consolidate our presence and efforts. Ossus will be renewed as the jewel it was and it will be our focus. There are certainly hawkish members of the Jedi Lords that desire to fight against the darkness once more, but I feel it would be best to focus for a time on building and growing.Although, a part of Lucien Malvern did miss his days as the Lord Commander. Serenno had been quite the ordeal to bring to peace and unify once more. His troops went far and wide, liberating the oppressed and bringing down the tyrannical. The darkness that was up the Perlemian Trade Route certainly presented an opportunity, but for now, Lucien kept to his promises of focusing on Ossus. When Ossus is restored and secured, likely the topic will be discussed then.

Hands clasped behind her back, Brielle attends to what Lucien explains with an attentiveness and stillness not typical of many younglings of her apparent age, taking a moment to take in all that has been said silently rather than rushing to immediately fill in the pause that follows the High Lord's concluding summation of the Jedi Lords’ plans.
"A sound outlook and strategy, High Lord, Brielle says after having organized her thoughts, her tone analytical and approving without any hint of criticism, One can hardly be expected to go forth and stand against the darkness if they do not do so from a position of strength. As she sees little point in discussing that particular matter further, Brielle smiles as she asks, What can you tell me about what I will be learning as a part of the exchange program between the academy on Corellia and the Praxeum here? in an eager way suggesting that she is excited by the prospect of learning all that she can while she is on Ossus. Master Berfen and I, she explains, have not yet had an opportunity to speak about what kind of curriculum I will be participating yet."

The High Lord glances at Master Berfen who nodded his head, confirming what the Initiate said. Difficult thing about Anzati persons, they aged slower and thus appeared not all their age. She was still a Jedi Initiate, so the Order had proper records on her education thus far. Which meant she was likely to be placed in the Junior Academy for a time before seeing if she was ready to graduate to the senior Praxeum by the revived Great Jedi Library.
I will need to review the files on your education thus far, Initiate.
Standard protocols, given the exchange system, else there would be issues in re-teaching an apprentice something they understand.
=Berfen= High Lord, she did seem interested in the Agricultural and Starfighter courses we offer.
The Mon Calamari stated as Lucien's eyebrow went up slightly. His eyes now turning to Brielle.
Looking to be a starfighter pilot or seeking to utilize your hands for more than wielding a lightsaber?
Not every Jedi was destined to be a warrior, a healer, or a loremaster. The Jedi Order was much more open to the potential of any career as a Jedi, especially given the diversities of Ossus that were forming with its revival. Agricultural students, Initiates interested in understanding alien lifeforms such as the Yuuzhan Vong and Ysanna, and so forth. A Jedi could be anything they wanted to be.

Nodding when Lucien says that he will need to go through the files her instructors at the academy on Corellia had sent to him prior to her arrival before making any decisions about what kind of curriculum she will be assigned while on Ossus, smiling as she says, "Of course, High Lord," clasping her hands behind her back as Master Berfen lets Lucien know about the things she had expressed an interest in.
When Lucfien asks if she is interested in becoming a pilot or simply for alternatives to training for roles that would not require, as a general rule, reliance upon a lightsaber or martial skills, Brielle is quiet for a moment before replying, "I am not yet sure what I would like to do, High Lord, and so am taking my time to learn of what roles there are other than the more traditional Sentinels, Councilors and Guardians. I trust that I will know the right path for me when it presents itself." There was a time when Brielle had been certain that she would follow in her adopted father's footsteps and become an Investigator, but after having spent some time at the academy on Corellia and learning of other roles such as those of healers, archaeologists and even pilots known as Aces, had elected to keep her mind open about what best suited her; barring some unforeseen calamity she will, after all, have more time than most to find the right fit for herself within the Jedi and has always felt that rushing to a decision often only invites regret.
The files Lucien were sent prior to Brielle's arrival include psychological assessments as well as a summary of the training she has received at the academy on Corellia as well as under the nearly century long tutelage of her adopted father.
Her adopted father, not wanting to risk training Brielle in some areas out of a desire to see that she had the opportunity to learn from whatever Master or Knight took her as their Padawan apprentice, had focused only on the Core Powers and rudimentary hand-to-hand and sword fighting techniques; not ever having her construct a lightsaber or train in the more widely known forms. Her instructors all agree that Brielle's level of mastery in the art of movement and related abilities such as Force Speed and Strength are at the impressive levels one would expect to see in a being trained in their use for over the average for what constitutes a lifetime in other sentient beings. Her instructors all note, also, that Brielle has a pronounced avoidance of using her skills in an aggressive fashion, seeming even in basic lightsaber training to rely on defensive rather than offensive techniques; leading them to believe she is an ideal candidate for advanced instruction in the Soresu form. Her instructors also note Brielle has a marked tendency to avoid the use of telepathy as much as possible.
The psychological profile provided, perhaps, makes some of her instructors' observations make more sense than the facts alone allow for. Her advanced age relative to her peers and even instructors appears to have resulted in Brielle maintaining a subtle distance between herself and those around her, with her strongest bonds having been observed to have been formed between her and those instructors that not only know of her origins - which are not commonly known among the student body out of a concern for how it might increase the distance Brielle keeps from her peers who, there is also concern, might allow the commonly held views about the Anzat to prejudge their fellow student - but also treat her as an adult despite her outward appearance. The Master compiling the psychological profile believes that Brielle's avoidance of aggressive applications of her abilities is based on a fear of the possibility it could lead to a loss of the rigidly disciplined self-control she maintains to ensure her instinctive appetite is controlled is not allowed to falter. Of the instinctive appetite itself, the Master compiling the report expresses some mild concern that her preference for solitude and fears about losing control could, if not addressed with the proper care and understanding, lead to the very thing that Brielle fears; were she to become so distant that she loses the empathy and loyalty she feels towards species other than her own could falter and fail, which in turn could decrease her motivation to keep her instinctive appetite in check.
The report concludes with a few predictable recommendations, such as advanced instruction in Soresu, encouraging more interaction with both peers of her own age and older instructors willing to overlook her appearance and origins, and cautious training in more aggressive applications of the Force that could help her overcome her personal concerns about their use.

A droid? Is that some fancy word for a person who flies theses... ships? . . .No... No that won't be necessary. A problem for another time, perhaps...
Brielle bobbles her head from side to side when Drauchir asks if a droid is another name for a person that pilots vessels such as the one they are currently in, saying in a mildly indecisive tone, "Hmmm. . . In a manner of speaking I suppose, yes," deciding that it might be better to save the discussion of what droids are for another time, perhaps when one is one hand to make the matter more clear to someone that has apparently never seen one before.
Completing their journey to the Praxeum in a silence she can only hope is a companionable one, Brielle sets the X-90B down and lowers the boarding ramp as she says cheerfully, pleased that she had managed to pilot the unfamiliar ship without any trouble, "Here we are, and then unfastens her safety harness and heads to the boarding ramp as she explains, It's fairly late, but hopefully we can find Master Berfen or one of the other Masters without too much trouble, shrugging as she says, If not, I suppose you can stay in my quarters for the night, crinkling her nose as she adds, There's a sofa that should be comfortable enough for you."
Heading into the Praxeum after using her datapad's slave circuit to land her A-wing near Drauchir's ship, Brielle begins looking around for Master Berfen or any other Jedi from the Praxeum as she asks Drauchir, "How are your wounds feeling by the way? We could head to the infirmary to have a more experienced healer than I look after them if they are troubling you."

He left her answer alone for the moment, focusing instead upon getting through the journey to the Temple. He finally relaxed as they finally landed and the movement of the ship stopped. He unclipped his own harness and leaned over toward the console where his medallion sat :: Wait! not yet... I need a little longer... :: He turned toward Runya, staring at her for a moment before leaving the Medallion alone as he headed off after Brielle as she spoke about trying to fin one of the Masters, elsewise she would offer him her sofa to sleep upon. He followed her off the landing ramp and in search of someone, his hand reaching up toward his side where his worst injury had been. They had mostly stopped troubling him, and in truth he'd experienced much worse injuries They're fine, Not much more anyone else can do but to let them heal... Can't say I've ever seen anything like this before... Well, not that wasn't some ancient ruin... If he hadn't felt out of place before now, he definitely would have now. Instead it only served to compound the feeling of alienation. But despite that, he did not let it show as he followed along

Abi had felt the passing of Aurora in the Force, and so when word had reached her, it only confirmed what she already knew: Her most steadfast, not only vassel, but friend, was gone. She had become one with the Force fighting to bring Light to the Dark on the world of Ambria, protecting the great Master Thon's legacy. But the word of their victory felt hollow to Countess Bruce. While others celebrated the victory and cheered to those who had given their lives, Abi had taken a leave of absence from administering Knossa and come to the Praxeum for personal reflection and to grieve without getting in the way of the work to be done in the City. Her cloathing reflected her mood, no longer in the blues and greens, she wore black out of respect for her fallen friend. She had only had a few hours sleep since hearing the news. Instead of rest at night, Abi had taken to wondering the halls and grounds of the academy. It was on one such walk that she found herself walking past the hanger as two people emerged from a newly arrived ship. Not a design she was familiar with, Abi stood in the doorway, ready to greet the two, one looked pretty banged up and the other seemed only a child. Abi knew as well as anyone, that among the Jedi looks could be deceiving. She eventually recognized Brielle, having heard others mention her before, but the other was wholly new to her. Being in the heart of Jedi Lord power, she was not concerned for her safety and so raised a hand in greeting to the pair. Not having heard the conversation, she repeated the question Brielle had asked. Do you need assistance?

As he heard the approaching footsteps, he'd turned toward them to be greeted by the sight of a blue eyed brunette woman dressed in a black dress. He gripped his side, feeling a twinge of pain from the sudden turn. But covered it up by turning the motion into a bow from the waist. He offered a slightly pained smile as he straightened up Yes, I was hoping to seek sanctuary within your Temple. My... ship... the word still felt foreign upon his tongue when referring to the vessel which sailed upon the stars Crashed. Brielle was able to get us back here when she discovered me not long after arriving. But, I believe there is still a great deal of work to be done, and I am in need of a place to rest and recover... Brielle had been more than helpful with getting him here, so he figured he would tend to his own request for aide. He could only assume anyone asking if they needed help here was one of the Jedi she had talked about earlier and she'd not made any sign to him that his assumption was wrong

Of course... Abi replied, taking in the wincing turn that had been made into a bow moments before, and also sensing the Darkside's taint upon this person, quickly stepped closer and began to shoo away Brielle. Thank you, Brielle, I will see to our guest from here, you go get some rest. Abi waited for the youngling to head off before continuing with the stranger, not taking her eyes off the man for a moment. She hadn't moved yet, not wanting to bring one so bathed in Darkness further with the sanctuary of the Light, at least not before understanding more about him. The Jedi welcome all seeking aid and asylum, but I must first know more about you. What is your name and from where do you hail? The Countess regretted leaving her lightsaber in her room, not expecting a Darksider to be simply brought into the Praxeum.

He gave a nod to Brielle before she took off to her quarters, leaving him along with his new host. He'd seen such unease before many times in his life, from common folk whom had heard dark tales of the Faradrim and the costs they extracted for their work. But a couple of witches had regarded him with that same caution. He kept his hands in as well a view as he could manage My apologies, my name is Drauchir and I hail... rather hailed from a place called Acron before its destruction forced me and my apprentice to flee... We were split up after an experience with some less savoury characters lead to our imprisonment for a time. I'm afraid my knowledge is lacking where your order and their customs are concerned, so I hope I have not accidentally committed some transgression... In hindsight, leaving his weapons aboard the vessel would have perhaps been a much wiser course of action for a first meeting. But they were here now and he wasn't going to try remove them without making sure she was aware of his intentions first

Not at all. Abi could see no hostile intent from the man before her. And based on the strained movement, knew he was too injured to put up enough of a fight she couldn't handle, even unarmed, till help arrived. Instead of continuing to detain the individual, this Drauchir, she motioned for him to walk alongside her out of the hanger bay. She lead the way to the closest block of dormitories, set aside for visitors. Her room was close by as well, being a visitor herself. As they walked she posed more questions to the man, attempting to get to the heart of the feeling of foreboding she could sense off of him. You seem to have a... limited understanding of technology; the word 'ship' didn't seem common to you. Tell me more of your people. Staying here, you will have ample opportunities to learn of the Jedi and our allies, but in short, we are servants of the Lightside of the Force and staunchly opposed to all those who serve the Darkside. They arrived at a sparcly appointed room. It had a bed, desk, chair, and a refresher in a smaller attached room. Abi lead the way into the room and motioned to the bed. If you would like some healing, lay still on the bed and I will be happy to do what I can.

When motioned to do so, he kept pace at her side without much issue. Thankfully the medicine that Brielle had given him earlier had mostly dulled it aside from the occasional deep ache from an action performed perhaps a little too swiftly. Much like Brielle before her, Abi was curious about his past, something that was likely to come up a lot in the coming days Not in the context of a vessel capable of sailing the stars, no. Where I came from, technology like that is... was restricted to the Witches and Wizards. They disseminated stuff they could understand and reproduce, but for most people? it was all too fantastical and much like magic. Horses were the pinnacle of travel, whilst some inventors and certain Witches had hot air balloons... He kept an eye on his surroundings, noting the turns they took to get from where the ship was to where the room eventually was that she delivered him to. All the while still paying attention to what she said, reiterating somewhat the same information Brielle had stated earlier. When she motioned to the bed, he gave a slight shake of his head That won't be necessary. I've found light magick tends to harm me more than it helps... Assuming of course your... Force is the same or similar. Something I suppose raises its own questions, some of which I doubt I am best suited to answer. However, I can certainly try... He moved over to the bed and sat down, some of his pain ebbing away thanks to the seated position. He undid the clasps that ran across his chest, allowing the swords and their sheathes to fall onto the bed creatures, both natural and unnatural, roamed the lands terrorising villages alongside the sorcerers whom delved into the darkness and used the power of Dark Magick... When their threat was about to become too great, people like me were made. Hunters whom were twisted by the same Dark Magick they were created to fight... I don't serve the darkness, I fight it, much the same as Brielle indicated that you do...

Abi clasped her hands gently in front of herself as she listened to the stranger. While she didn't sense any lie in him, she still felt uneasy in his presence. Especially with his claim that he would not react well to the Lightside. He spoke in an archaic way, almost like he was a man out of time. But this raised the question, how did he get here? How did he end up on the ship? All the same, Abi remained polite and hospitable. The Darkside used to hunt the darkside... in fighting among the darksiders was not unheard of, but a whole sect dedicated to eradicating another was. What a miserable existence... Abi couldn't help but muse out loud. Unable to touch, or be touched by the Living Force for fear of harm... The Countess snapped back from her minor daydream, realizing she had spoken those words aloud. I'm sorry, I don't mean any offense...

It was not the first time someone had expressed such a sentiment to him. It had been quite a few years ago now and she'd born auburn hair instead of chestnut, but the concern had been the same. In truth though, it was unlikely to be the last time someone felt that way, but he understood why. He'd lived most of his life this way and they'd spent most of their life living their way. There was still much about the Witches and Wizards that he did not understand, and this... Force was just another thing he would need to learn about No offense taken. The life I have and lived... It's not for everyone. But it is preferable to dying alone as an orphan, and there would have been a lot more dead people... It's not... he let out a quick sigh as he caught himself and corrected the mistake It wasn't all that miserable. I made many companions along the way, at least until... He took a longer pause this time, the loss of his world hitting a bit harder when being reminded specifically of those that had died. His gaze dropped for a moment There's only one person left that has made this life bearable, and I intend to find her...

Abi reached a hand out and placed it on the man's shoulder. She was now satisfied that he meant her no harm, and thus was more willing to let her own guard down. Our loved ones and friends can give us great strength. Abi gave her usual winning smile to hide the pain she felt at the loss of her own dear friend. And someone as obviously determined as you, I am sure you will find your friend. The Countess withdrew her hand before moving to the desk and on the built in console keyed up the atlas. Making sure it was centered on the Praxeum, she stepped back and motioned to it, though not expecting the injured man to jump to work immediately. There you will have access to maps of the planet and wider galaxy. Tomorrow, once you have had a chance to rest, you may wish to familiarize yourself with the surroundings before beginning your search. I will return with the morning meal and to check on your recovery. She turned to go, but stopped in the doorway, coming about to face him again. Is there anything else I can do to assist you? Then a realization dawned upon her as she blushed and quickly curtsied. Oh, I am terribly sorry, you must think me incredibly rude to have not introduced myself. I am Countess Abigail of House Bruce, sworn to High Lord Malvern. She raised up from the courtesy. I do apologize, I have had a great deal on my mind of late. What would her grandmother think... Now, is there anything else I can do for you?

He flinched a little at the contact, but he forced himself not to draw away too much Sorry, old habits... He rose up from the bed and followed her over to the table, a little surprised and taken aback by the images that appeared in the air above the desk. He walked around the desk, studying it. Things like this would give their user advantages he could have only dreamed of back home. His gaze turned up to look toward the woman as she made mention of the wider galaxy. It wasn't a word he particularly understood the meaning of, but it held a great weight to it. He watched her move toward the door, before finally introducing herself as Abigail of House Bruce. He moved around the desk and toward the door, a smile of his own appearing You've been more than a generous host to someone like myself. I'd have been lucky to find myself curled up with hay in a stables when hosted by a Countess within my home lands. So there is nothing to apologise for. I hope my own arrival has not inconvenienced you? He got the feeling like all was not right with the Countess, but he was her guest and it was not his place to pry too much on the matter. So he waited a moment, allowing her a chance to elaborate on what ever matter she might desire before speaking again There is one thing, I left a pendant upon my ship which I should retrieve. It should only be a quick trip there and back if you would not mind accompanying me, so I do not get lost?

Abi's shook her head as she motioned for Drauchir to accompany her. You have been no inconvenience at all. I am myself a visitor at this academy, seeking peace for... well, no need to trouble you with that. The smile that she had held on her face faded as they walked back to the hanger, her mind turning back to her lost friend. Realizing that she must be being dreadful company, she reaffixed her smile and looked to the man walking beside her. So, who is she? The person you seek?

He was honestly glad for the company as Abigail lead the way back toward the hangar. Once she was gone, he would have all night to be alone with his own thoughts, and they were not always a nice place to be. He just needed to be careful not to impose himself too much upon the Countess. His gaze turned from the path ahead to meet his hosts It would be no trouble at all. I'll share mine if you share yours? A mutual commiseration is much better than suffering alone in silence. Trust me, I got quite good at it over the years... It had taken Runya and Eryneth quite the effort to get him to finally open up about anything. Being alone for so many years and resented by people tended to have the effect that you did not trust others. It slowly ate away at you, turning all that was good into darkness. While he did not know much of anything about his host, or the struggles she dealt with, at least this small kindness might help along the road to repaying the debt he owed her
