Description:
The Scourge-class Destroyer was one of the latest designs designed and produced for the Resurgent Sith Conclave. Unlike many of its brethren, The Scourge-class was not taken from designs of aeons ago. Instead, it was designed around technology from far more recent times. The Aggressor-class Star Destroyer was a powerful vessel. But like many initial pieces of technology, it was large, bulky, and unwieldy. As time passed and technology improved, so too did the design opportunities for the deadly fire linked ion/plasma cannons that the Aggressor was so famous for.
The designers of the Scourge took the dual cannons and decreased their size and widened the space between them somewhat. From there, they designed the central section of the ship to connect the two main cannons. Filling the space with support structures, hangar bays enough for 36 starfighters, and accommodation for 1,200 soldiers. But they also included systems enough to power additional weapons beyond a pair of turbolaser cannons. Enough that the Scourge would be able to somewhat adequately defend itself, while charging its main guns. Another feature of the Scourge-class was the 10 hangar bay entrances located on the underside of the vessel. They allowed for rapid drop deployment of the Scourge's starfighters, but also rapid deployment drop pods which could load 10 soldiers per pod. Allowing for blitz tactics against enemy ground forces and providing reinforcements at a moments notice.
