The single Imperial Troop Deployment Pod raced down through Byss' atmosphere and slammed into the remains of the Black Stone Citadel. Quickly the 12 commandos within secured their kit and supplies. Their commander ordered them to deploy in teams of two into the ruined citadel and to find cover and concealment. The deployment pod was set to self destruct, and the six teams fanned out into the labyrinthine but ruined facility.The infiltrators were from the elite commandos of Clan Australis, a mixed team of twelve comprising the greenbacks and the night witches. All were skilled in long term reconnaissance missions behind enemy lines, and were well suited to the job of covert intelligence gathering.Harnan Ren = 3 months since being freed from his prison = A second and third pod roared through the atmosphere behind the preceding pod - each had a different trajectory, one landing just outside of the Leviathan Rift, while the other landed in a separate section of the citadel, approximately 1 km away from the first.
From within the bowels of the citadel, something stirred, as the pods crashed within the perimeter. Since the Dark Lord's imprisonment, most of the Dark Legion and Dark Tide troops were either relocated, or fled to steal a slice of Byss during the years of chaos - as such, the defenses did not appear present. Yet this was the home of Darth Nexus, who was known to master the arcane arts of the sith, as such, his traps were not noticed by the untrained eye.
Yet the traps never sprung, as an armor clad man stepped out of the second pod - the one which also landed in the facility. Heavy, rune covered beskar plates covered most of him, yet even under the armor, he was a titan of a man. For those that did not know, he seemed to be a man out of place, yet his presence was felt by that which lay within the bastion. And those who saw the helmet wrought of bone and metal knew - Darth Nexus had returned.
The Dark Lord had made his way into the facility, opening the great metal gates with a wave of his hand, looking to rendezvous with the Australis detachment - as he made his way into the facility, he took in the sights. While abandoned, the citadel still held onto its glory - these walls were built for war and the ravages of time after all. The Dark Lord immediately headed for one of the tunnel entrances, making his way into the belly of the facility.
Then suddenly there was a disturbance, as a barrage of orbital fire caused the structure to rumble - but this was a military fortress, and she would hold, even unmanned. While the surface was a gilded palace, the true facility was enclosed deep within the rift - this was built here not for convenience or to distance itself from the planets imperial past, but rather because it was a strategic location. As the ground trembled and the air was filled with the concussive bellows of explosions, the Dark Lord could not help but smile beneath his helmet. It was a welcoming party to herald the Lord of Chaos. He pushed forward, with a running pace - speaking into his helmet as he ran.Hssiss team, this is Drexyl Alpha. Re-entry complete - making way to your location

The Sith was accustomed to projecting a facade of being cold, calm, and collected - even though mere seconds ago, Dolmin had seen that facade fall away, the sudden return of his composure made that seem unnatural - clearly there was an instability in the mind of the sith. He blinked in silence for a few moments, showing no expression as the captain removed shards from his hand - he didn't even flinch. His breaths were slow and steady.
"Quite the wreck you've managed here...and no worries. I'm less hung up over the damages, more concerned that this may not be the worst I can expect. What is it that's causing this to trigger in you, if I may ask?" Nexus flinched, unwillingly. He turned his gaze to the captain, with cold eyes and a stern expression."No. You may not." "...Apologies. You don't have to answer that. We won't have too much longer out here in the black. But maybe you can tell me how I can best help you when the time comes? I'm curious as to how I might do so." "Concern yourself with getting us to Manaan - the rest will be taken care of upon arrival." And with those cold words, the Dark Lord rose to his feet once more. He was not hunched as he was before, but instead rose to his full height - as though tasting the force in his outburst seemed to breath life into him, though in truth, the pain from his hand was what fueled him."I will give you more information on the job when I can assess the situation in earnest. Once I have satisfactory intel, I can brief you. Now if you would excuse me, I will retire to my quarters." He kept his eyes on the ships captain for a brief moment, assessing him, before nodding once and turning towards the entrance way. As he made his way to the threshold, he paused for a moment, seemingly hesitant, then entered the corridor that led to his quarters.

As his captain entered the room, Nexus seemed to look past him - as though not looking at him at all. The Sith was fixated on something behind him - something the captain couldn't see, but could potentially sense. The aberration had returned, this time she had those same burning eyes, pointing at Nexus, repeating the words. The Dark Lord saw smoke rising from the wound on her head, where he had delivered the killing blow for her execution.
Traitor...Traitor...Traitor....TRAITOR...
The only thing that eventually broke the sith from his trance like condition was the captain speaking. His eyes shifted from the iconic sith colors, reverting to their original pale blue in a flash. The horror in his face became apparent, as did the confusion. He looked around at the damage, before looking at his hand - then his eyes fell to the floor, and finally he gazed up at the Herglic captain. He took a moment to put everything together, before giving the man a nod to affirm that he was safe to approach and mend the wounds.
He lifted the bloodied hand, which had stopped shaking, allowing his captain to pull out the jagged shards of glass.
"When we arrive on Manaan, I will see that you are compensated for the damage."
And that was all he said - in a droned monotone, devoid of emotion.

Approved! Edit: probably wouldn't be a bad idea to mention, somewhere, that your rotary turbolasers are based off or inspired from the Hapan design that way we, and anyone, know where it comes from. Acknowledged and edited accordingly

Aboard the "Shen'Paak" -Course Charted: Myrkr to Manaan -ETA: 12 hours
The warmth of the Whiskey had finally spread through the Sith's entire body - as the alcoholic lullaby of relaxation lured Nexus into a waking sleep, occasionally jostled by a bump of interference in the hyperspace lane. At this point, Nexus allowed sleep to take hold, and he slipped into its dark embrace. Yet there was no peace in these dreams, as the years of torture had scarred his mind.
While his captain relaxed, he could sense momentary spikes in anxiety, and brief bouts of panic. Nexus - who was still in the common area, was reclined with his eyes shut on the large couch, his hand still firmly gripping his empty glass as his eyes dashed back and forth beneath his eye lids. While on the surface, the only indication of stress was seen in his frantic eye movements, beneath, there was true horror.
~The Dream~ Smoke and fire were all that he could see and feel, on the battle torn streets of Cloud City, and all that could be heard was blaster fire and explosions. Chaos, this was his element, and yet for some reason the Dark Lord was uneasy. This was not a noble war, but the Warriors of the Iron's fists response to treason. With him, stood his brothers in arms, and his uncle, the looming figure that was Iniquitous.
=Iniquitous= "We are losing this war, you know what to do."
The Dark Lord, who was much younger in this memory, felt the knot in his stomach grow alarmingly - it was a sensation that he had not felt in years. Dread. Iniquitous noted his trepidation with disgust.
=Iniquitous= "Prove your loyalty - do your duty."
Suddenly there was silence. No more explosions, no more blaster fire. The smoke and fire had been replaced with cold steel - all that remained was that sense of dread rising. Nexus stood before several warriors, each with a saber ignited in defiance. But a voice called out, beckoning peace. The voice of a woman. For a brief instant, the dread was gone - and it was replaced with something that felt completely foreign. But the moment was fleeting, and suddenly true, palpable pain was all that could be felt.
Slow steps, that was what the Dark Lord took, each echoing as his armored boots met the durasteel floor. The warriors parted, leaving a beautiful woman, clad in fierce armor. Her eyes met his. Nexus was the first to speak.
"Why did you have to fight, Isis?"
He closed the gap between them, reaching up with a slow, though steady hand. He touched her cheek - the woman that he loved, who stood between him and his duty. His duty, and his brethren were what brought them here - as a political marriage had driven a wedge between the two. Her eyes were defiant, yet not resentful. Then suddenly, her eyes were black - then empty, replaced by two burning rings - as a snap hiss broke what seemed like an endless silence. She mouthed the word
"Traitor."
~~~~
While the Dark Lord relived this pained memory, the Herlgic captain felt the same feelings that Nexus felt - the intense anxiety, the dread, and finally the resonating gut punch of guilt. This was accompanied by a sudden, intense turbulence that reverberated through the entire ship - shaking it with an alarming intensity as a guttural, almost unnatural voice bellowed through the halls.
"NO!"
And then the shaking stopped, at least throughout the ship - though if the Captain ventured into common, he would witness a disturbing scene. Furniture was overturned - sparks from previously concealed electronics now filled the room, as wires and plates of metal were laid bare. Amidst the carnage, there kneeled the "Broken Chalice", trying to suppress violent tremors that racked his body, clutching a bloodied hand that held the shards of what was once a glass - and if the captain saw his eyes he would note that the Sith's previously pale blue eyes had shifted to an unnatural mixture of crimson and amber. The room seemed to spin with confusion for a few moments - but that subsided with the Sith's tremors.
Aboard the Shen'Paak - Course Charted: Mykyr to Manaan -Estimated time till arrival: 14 hours
The monotonous hum and pulse of hyperspace was a strange feeling to the Sith Lord, as the vessel known as Shen'Paak made its way through the hyperspace lanes. Their course was set for Manaan - it had been long since Darth Nexus had stepped foot on the sapphire gem of the Inner Rim. It made him uneasy - the memories of the ancient home of the Warriors of the Iron Fist, the wars he fought with him, and finally his trial and imprisonment- all of these flooded his mind, compounding his anxiety.
The Dark Lord took a sip from his glass, hoping the alcohol would help calm him. The amber liquid disappeared from the glass, only to be replaced with another batch, as he poured another drink. It had been only a few hours into the trip, yet Nexus was already halfway through the bottle - not that you could guess such by his demeanor. He was not drunk or cheery, but rather ever stoic and solemn.
The steady pulsation of the vessel would lull most passengers into a sense of ease and security, but not him. He was alert, thinking - no - planning on what he was going to do when he landed. Lord Sinistra, one of his older colleagues, had mentioned an alliance with Clan Australis - while Nexus did not have any prior history with the mandalorian. As a Dar'Manda, the Sith had not interacted with his people in many years - most had disregarded the fact that he was once a member of Clan Vhett during the rule of Cassus Fett, his foster uncle.
Given Nexus' lack of equipment, and the precarious nature that would be involved in retrieving it, he made a mental note to seek out Kaine when he arrived on Manaan, and hopefully use the alliance to arm himself for the fight to come. With Beskar'gam, and the help of Dolmin -assuming the Helgric would be willing to help- he knew it would only be a matter of time before the galaxy remembered to fear his name. He would arm himself, then enter Dun Na Manaan, deal with any potential opposition, and find what ever An Tiarna decided to keep as a trophy for his 'victory'.
"I will keep that in mind."
As Dolmin exited the common area, Nexus surveyed his surroundings. He noted the respective furniture and placement of the bar. As the Herglic made his way to the cockpit, Nexus browsed the bar section for a brief moment, before procuring a Corellian Whiskey - while it was not his beverage of choice, it would alleviate some of the pain which he hid from his pilot.
Reaching for the glass - his tremor became apparent for a moment, as the container tapped against the metal surface of the bar with an alarming intensity. Taking a deep breath, Nexus settled his tremor by gripping his shaking hand by the wrist. He waited a few moments for the tremor to subside before he poured out the drink as a neat cocktail. Grabbing both the whiskey and the glass, he made his way to the nearest chair and sat down, feeling the ship lurch beneath him. This was the first time he had been on a ship while conscious since Lord Sinistra had rescued him, and it made him mildly unsettled to not be in command of the vessel.
He drained his glass in one smooth sip, allowing the warm sensation of alcohol permeate through his body. His tremor had subsided, but the pain was still there - a part of it would always be there, even so, the Sith did not allowed it to prevent him from relaxing.
Shen'Paak, it was appropriate. While the Dark Lord did not speak his thought, it was apparent that he approved of the vessel. It was infectious, he could tell by the subtle movements and gestures in which Dolmin revealed, that showed true love for it. The Sith allowed the comfort and security to pass onto him, which was admittedly difficult given his recent experience - however while Dolmin did not truly understand the force, he would note the pacification of Nexus' aura. He was calmer, as he strode the halls with the Herglic. The abberation was gone - and now Dolmin had his full attention.
"Understood. I too am a pilot...I know the feeling."
As they walked through the vessel, Nexus had been mostly quiet apart from that singular statement. Dolmin may or may not find such behavior offputting, but Nexus had become stoic in his age - doubly so given his imprisonment. Words were not needed to fill empty air - he assessed the ship as he moved and soaked in the information without a complaint.
Darth Nexus made his way to the common area, not wanting to be confined to his quarters - he had been locked in a sarcophagus for 10 years - and small enclosed spaces did not appeal to him.
"Dún na Manaan – The Fortress of Manaan serves as a monument to Sith supremacy. But also it is a tribute to the will of this great planets departed patriarch, Lord Mortus. Apart from the Royal Guards & a massive military presence Dún na Manaan is a place of learning & meditation free of outside interference. Once home to the Óglaigh na Iarndóideanna – Warriors of the Iron Fists - this fortress serves as a historical landmark and home to those who came before."
"...O-Oh, right. That could certainly be n-negotiated. I believe that to be in the purview of my contract with the Enclave, as it were. Mister...Malakaii, was it? If you'll follow me, I'll show you around the ship, and help you get settled in. It'll be a few days' journey, so I'm sure you'll want to know your way around."He seemed to shuffle-step for a moment, almost unsure of his footing. His body was trying to catch up with itself after such an exchange. And he looked at the cargo boarding ramp as though it was a foreign sight for the briefest of moments; almost as if he was wondering where such a thing could have come from... Darth Nexus watched and felt Dolmin's response - his face remained stoic, and his eyes unwavering - yet in his heart he felt the brief glimmer of elation. The Ard Ri failed in his final endeavor. Dolmin knew the name, or at least knew OF the name. Once the moment had passed - as the sith was not one to revel in such things - he felt something else. It was a primal recoil - akin to stepping on into an unexpected puddle in a dark room. The herglic's mind brushed against his for the briefest of seconds, and responded. Dolmin could perceive the force - interesting. With that revelation, Nexus looked to his pilot, giving him a solemn nod, then waited for him to ascend the ramp, before following behind him.
"We shall speak further upon our arrival..." As they ascended the ramp, Nexus paused for a moment, turning to take one fleeting glance at the hangar. These were the first steps on his new journey - he could have remained on Mykyr and recover, as Lord Sinistra had suggested, but he was uneasy in times of peace. Stagnation was worse than death. He would seek out his fight, rather than wait for it to come to him. Ten years of torture and torment had primed his mind for this new path. Ever forward.As he slipped past the threshold of the ship's inner airlock, he saw something from the corner of his eye - something that he knew was not truly there. It was a woman, beautiful and clad in battle armor. She watched him with tear filled eyes, mouthing a word without sound - the Sith ignored the hallucination and continued aboard. She was not there, no - she was an aberration, a lasting reminder of the punishment that the Warriors of the Iron Fist subjected him to. But this was no longer his prison, and in this world, Darth Nexus knew that she was dead...dead by his hand.
The phantom reminded him of the price for his loyalty, and what came of it. He owed a debt to the Enclave - one that he intended to pay, yet once it was paid, he would serve no one.
The word that the phantom uttered clung to his mind however, and while there was no sound, it echoed in his mind.
"Traitor..."At the top of the ramp, Nexus pushed the words and ghosts from his mind, returning his attention to Dolmin
The Man in black nodded as the Herglic introduced himself. His eyes remained on the mercenary, though occasionally they would shift out of focus - not as though going blank, but rather looking at something else without actually looking at it. Subtle shifts in lighting or unannounced sounds; the subtle shift of an astromech droid, or a panel flickering to life - those were often what caused the shifts in focus. The man was alert, and seemed uneasy - he was, after all, a man out of time.
He a strange aura about him, the man in black. As the Herglic had surmised, he was incomplete- not weak but not fully comprehensible. To the trained mind, the damage to his mind could be felt, and yet rather than submission, a sensation of stubborn, indominable persistence could be felt - something that did not show itself in the man's physical appearance. There was a deep dark font that he was drawing from, yet it felt distant - an echo of what would normally be a roar.
To the untrained mind, the man in black was a cacophony of disjointed sounds and feelings - a maelstrom of pain, rage and hatred. Those who could not filter out the force would feel a deep sense of nausea, as their minds were overwhelmed by this anomaly. It was off putting to juxtapose the aura with the figure - it was unnatural.
When Dolmin asked for his name, the man in black paused - contemplating the answer to give him. He was meant to keep a low profile - Lord Sinistra warned him that the galaxy would not respond kindly to his return. He was presumed dead, and the galaxy had made peace with that - if it had become known that the scourge of war was walking among them, panic would spread, and that would upset the fragile balance that permeated through the planets. It was too soon, and the Enclave was not yet ready to make itself known.
Even so, Dolmin had been employed by the Enclave, and the man in black was not one for lying. So he spoke the truth.
"My name... is Darth Nexus, though it would be best not to say the name aloud. If we are in public, you make call me Malakaii. Few know that name these days."
Saying his name aloud caused the man's aura to spike, as though he had evoked some long dormant memory. The echoes were roars for a second - it was the first time he had said his own name since he woke. The Dark Lord, as he had now made himself known, watched the Herglic's face, curious if his reputation was still known, or if An Tiarna's crusade had ended in success - wiping his name from the annals of history as punishment for his betrayal. After a moment passed, Darth Nexus spoke once more.
"And should you seek further employment, I could use a capable mercenary on this journey to Manaan. Once you are done with any tasks that the Enclave has given you..."
He was heard, before he was seen. But not in the way that most would remember.
Usually heralded by the sound of heavy footfalls, the Dark Lord's mere presence used to announce itself in an ominous rhythm. This time was different, however. Rather than the solid 1-2 of heavy boots meeting the floor, it was an arrhythmic tapping.
Clack...Clack...Clack Clack...Then a steady pause, then Clack...Clack...Clack.
The passenger listed as 'The Broken Chalice' appeared in the threshold of the hangar bay entrance. The name was appropriate - while not wholly obvious, a decade of torture and isolation had taken a toll on Dolmin's passenger. Clad in thick black robes which covered most of his skin, little and less could be made of the identity of the man. Even so, the hulking Herglic would see why the man earned this moniker. He was quite large for a human, that much could be seen even through the blanketing robes - and while Dolmin was far larger (by almost 3 feet), he could still see that this humanoid was larger than most in his species- yet while the passenger was large, he appeared hunched and was walking with a cane, giving him the appearance of an elderly hermit.
The figure took slow, steady steps, he closed the distance between them. As he approached, the Herglic would see him sweep his eyes across the entire hangar - though this could only be indicated in the subtle way of his hood, as he swept left, to right. Veterans were known to do this - looking for potential exits, cover and anything that gave them an advantage in an ambush.
Clack...Clack...Clack...
The man had finally closed the gap between them. He did not remove his hood, though his head tilted upwards, as he looked at his hulking escort. The hangar lights managed to illuminate a part of his chin and neck, revealing a light stubble of stark silver, contrasting against the bold black of his Sith Tattoos which lined his chin and neck. The tattoos seemed abnormal in contrast to the stubble and the pale tone of the mans skin. The man was silent for a few seconds, and in those seconds, Dolmin could see a light tremor in the hand which gripped the wooden staff. It was only present for a second before subsiding. He spoke out in a deep voice, one which reverberated in his chest, and seemed to not belong to him.
"I hear you are the one to take me to Manaan. Am I correct?"
The figure leaned into his staff, bringing himself to an upright posture. He reached up, grabbing the hood by its hem, then pulled it down to his shoulders. He was far from handsome - his features were square and rugged. The silver hair atop his head seemed rather thin, and the scars and wrinkles across his face were evidence of him living a hard life. The tattoos that could be seen beneath the hood stretched from his neck to his lower lip, ending in jagged points akin to the maw of some beast. His nose was slightly crooked - as though it was broken one-too-many times. However, what stood out the most were his eyes. They were pale blue, akin to floating ice in a sea. Yet they were bold, and intense, and seemed out of place for one who appeared so broken. His eyes locked with those of his transporter - such a stare would make most uneasy.
His eyes were unforgiving, unbending and unwavering. Where the rest of him appeared frail, his eyes were the only things that seemed alive and well.
Fixed the link. Adjusted the shells composition. Removed coaxium. Now its a durasteel shell with tibanna gas, so it still has the same effect, just no secondary explosion. Further more, explosive rounds do exist in the star wars universe, so given the adjusted composition, I dont think it constitutes as R&D. It is just a scaled up version of an explosive slug
-Leviathan Mk II -class Battle Cruiser-Ship Class: Star Destroyer Ship Role: Star Destroyer Ship Length: 1,800 meters Agility (A): 1 Defensive (D): 4 Offensive (O): 5 (6 pts) Speed (S): 2 Special Gear: 2, Redundant Field Generators and Hanger Space Description: he Leviathan Mk II Battle Cruiser was one of the many projects in the Excelsior Program, created by the now defunct Halocroft Industries. Originally designed to be a heavy hitting, yet well balanced star fighter that act as the bulk of the Star Fighter vanguard - the vessel was only in prototype stages when Halocroft was shut down. As such, the designs disappeared from the galaxy for a time, until the return of Darth Nexus, who retrieved them and brought them into production. As a new and improved variation of the flag ships of the Dark Tide and Dark Legion, the vessel was a terrifying sight on the battlefield. Abandoning the traditional wedge shape of conventional star destroyers, the vessel consisted of two prows, which housed the hangar bays, that stretched from a central mass which housed the engines as well as a massive Mass Driver Canon, which was one of its most deadly weapons. Along with this heavy artillery, the Leviathan Battle cruisers were known for their rotary styled triple barreled turbolasers that provided a constant stream of heavy fire on any target unfortunate enough to enter its sights, while also giving a smaller footprint to allow for more weapon emplacements. This arsenal, coupled with its thick armor, and comprehensive shield system allowed for the vessel to enter the heart of a conflict and achieve maximum damage to an enemy fleet. With that being said, the vessel was slower than many ships, which required it to be escorted by a series of frigates and cruisers to offer protection from nimble, more maneuverable vessels. Armor:Quadanium steel Plated Hull Shields:Heavy Composite Ray and Particle Shielding with Redundancy Generators Armaments :PrimaryNote the tri-barreled Turbolasers are based on the unique designs that are used on Hapan Battle Dragons> 50 Heavy Tri-Barreled Turbolaser Batteries (Rotary Mounted to provide a consistent rate of fire) -25 Starboard -25 Port > 60 Tri-Barreled Turbo Lasers (Rotary Mounted to provide a consistent rate of fire) -20 Starboard -20 Port -10 Bow -10 aft > 20 Octuple Barbette Turbo Laser Cannons (10 Mounted on the top of the craft, 10 mounted on Under Belly) > 20 Heavy Ion Cannons - 8 Starboard - 8 Port - 4 Bow > 30 Super-Heavy Torpedo Tubes (armament varies) - 10 Starboard - 10 Port - 10 Bow >24 Point laser Defence Quad-Laser Turrets >Colossus-Class Heavy Mass Driver Canon – Rail Gun Variation- The Colossus-Class Heavy Mass Driver Canon is the brain child of Halocraft Industries’ weapons division. Rather than creating a unique, innovative weapon, the brains behind this branch decided to improve and optimize an already existing technology. As such, they scaled up the Mass Driver canon and retrofitted it to sit in the berth of the Leviathan Mk II. This cannon launches massive durasteel alloy slugs filled with volatile tibanna gas. This meant that the magnetically accelerated shell was highly affective against both physical defenses, as well as shield technology. The trade off with this weapon was the power required to fire it. As it had a high calibers slug, which required a substantial amount of energy to propel it, the Leviathan often had to stop any on going assaults in order to launch the weapon, giving the device a short window before it can be used (1 post to charge, while unable to fire other weapons). Even so, this deadly canon had the capacity to disable many large ships with a precise shot, or decimate smaller vessels through sheer force. The second detriment to housing this weapon is the requirement for specialized munition storage, which limits the Leviathan from carrying more than 10 rounds at any given time. Morning Whill Chill - long time no see!
Nexus does have IC influence over Manaan, due to his current affiliation with the V.E, as well as his past affiliations with The Warriors of the Iron Fist, as well as the Dark Tide.
OOC permission has been granted by Lamia, who is the Head of the VE, as Manaan is one of their territories.
Claymore-Class Assault Fighter-Designs provided by 'Bagera3005' on Deviantart- Ship Class: Heavy Starfighter Ship Role: Starfighter Ship Length: 23 meters Agility (A): 2 Defensive (D): 4 Offensive (O): 4 Speed (S): 3 Special Gear: 2 - Redundant Field Generator, Advanced Targeting Systems Description:The Claymore-Class Assault Fighter was one of the many projects in the Excelsior Program, created by the now defunct Halocroft Industries. Originally designed to be a heavy hitting, yet well balanced star fighter that act as the bulk of the Star Fighter vanguard - the vessel was only in prototype stages when Halocroft was shut down. As such, the designs disappeared from the galaxy for a time, until the return of Darth Nexus, who retrieved them and brought them into production. With the speed of a blade, and the crushing blunt force of an axe, the Claymore-Class Assault Fighter had earned its name. Fast, yet heavy and deadly. While the Claymore-Class Assault Fighters were versatile in many combat situations, its primary focus was to act as the vanguard of any formation of fighters. Armed to the teeth, and equipped with a thick armored hull, complemented by a heavy comprehensive set of shields and accompanying redundant field generators, these ships acted as the medium cavalry for their respective fleets. The Claymore-Class Fighter was not as nimble as its counter parts, though given the strength of its engines, armor of its hulls, and respective armament, it did not need to be. They acted as a hammer - a force to smash the front lines and hold their own in a counter offensive while the more nimble ships were able to retreat and regroup. Most vessels would learn quickly that a head on engagement with these fighters, unless they were in large numbers, or had heavy support. While not nimble, the vessels could close distances relatively quickly, and any vessel that fell into their kill box would find themselves between a rock and a hard place. Armed with two heavy electromagnetic plasma cannons, one mounted on each wing and pair of parallel medium laser cannons at the underside of the nose, as well as 1 concussion missile tube, and 1 heavy proton torpedo tube. Ordinance would vary by mission, though the ships often carried 5 torpedos/missiles for each respective tube, which were housed in the aft of the vessel. These deadly weapons, heavy armor plating, plus the comprehensive shield generators, which allowed for focus on specific regions of the fighter, made seeing a squadron of Claymores on the fields of war a very bad day.
-Javelin-Class Interceptor-- Design created by 'Bagera3005' on Deviantart - Ship Class: Starfighter Ship Role: Starfighter Ship Length: 22 meters Agility (A): 3 Defensive (D): 1 Offensive (O): 2 Speed (S): 4 Special Gear: 0 Description:The Javelin-Class Interceptor was one of the many projects in the Excelsior Program, created by the now defunct Halocroft Industries. Originally designed to be a lightning fast interceptor that would penetrate the enemies front lines, to engage them from behind - the vessel was only in prototype stages when Halocroft was shut down. As such, the designs disappeared from the galaxy for a time, until the return of Darth Nexus, who retrieved them and brought them into production. The vessel was narrow and short, granting it a small targeting profile - hence its moniker as the Javelin. Resembling the head of a spear, the vessel was blindingly fast on straight shots, but it also had high end thrusters along the ships belly and top, allowing for sharp, high tension turns - this allowed for it to be nimble. Armed with dual ion cannons, and a heavy laser cannon, both which were mounted beneath the bow of the ship - its primary use in combat was to slip behind enemy lines, and disable enemy vessels from behind, allowing for heavier fighters to clear them out with relative ease. Using speed to their primary advantage, the vessels would strike, then put as much distance between them and their targets - and if one was foolish enough to break formation to chase them, they would often be lead straight into the enemy ranks. While these ships were agile and quick, they were not designed for prolonged combat - lacking a shield generator, their objective was to use quick strikes, before retreating, then re-engaging once the enemy was in contact with a more combat-oriented squadron. In the hands of an inexperienced combatant, these vessels were easy targets, however with a skilled pilot operating them, they were a dagger in the side of most squadrons.
