Several burly Mando'ade scruffbags wearing the black and green of Australis barge their way into the yet to be opened Mandalmotors Hall. After surveying the fancy new digs, a couple of the lads take the opportunity to section off a corner of the main room and put up a crude hand-drawn sign that reads "Australis".
Another fellow makes his way around the room, purloining all the remote controls, and several expensive bottles of liquor, which he brings back to the men busy fortifying their selected corner of the hall with upturned tables and looted curtains, making that area resemble a children's fort. The men break open the liquor and toast their commander.
To General Kaine, and Clan Australis! I declare this building open! Open-ish, anyway!
Roaring with laughter, the three men continue on in this fashion, shouting, drinking and singing...
Oh, General Kaine he's magic He wears a magic hat! And when he saw the kyr'bes He said I'm having that! OYA! OYA! OYA!

Aya entered the hall from one of the several entrances. She didn't even have to check the time to know that she was rather early for the planned meeting. She wasn't sure of the exact nature of the meeting with the new Mand'alor, but based on conversations she had overheard, it would likely be on the subject of the Beskar monopoly that her clan had established.

Workers came through and finished off the last parts of the MandalMotors Hall. A large oval floor area was left at ground level. Around it, rising in several levels, was banks of seating that looked like giant steel steps. At several points there was actual regular steps allowing easier ingress and egress. At one end of the oval, a small platform was set up, allowing the Mand'alor to oversee the proceedings when he or she visited. The upper level was ringed with a wide walkway and exits leading out of the Hall

An armored warrior in the black and green of Australis wearing the insignia of a Captain enters the newly minted MandalMotors Hall. A blind man would have had no trouble finding his quarry, just follow the singing. Captain Bronzi Australis marched over to the three layabouts and kicked over one of the tables they had purloined.
Wot the fug do you fink this is! This is the shabla MandalMotors Hall, not Oyu'baat you dumb fuggers! Let's try and act like professional soldiers, not some fug-fingered ramble! Bronzi rather enjoyed roaring at undisciplined troopers.
On yer feet and out. Construction duty just got three new recruits. And gimme that fugging tihaar! He snatched the remaining flagon and booted the offender in the rump to get him moving along. That's it, go and lift some fugging planks.
The drunks fled Bronzi's wrath, leaving the Captain to have himself a measured sip. He even allowed himself a small satisfied sigh of pleasure. Moment over, he headed out the door to find more idle Clan vode ready to be press ganged into manual labour.

She wasn't sure of the exact nature of the meeting with the new Mand'alor, but based on conversations she had overheard, it would likely be on the subject of the Beskar monopoly that her clan had established. Damocles entered a few minutes later from the entrance behind the platform. He stood atop it and looked out across the remodelled MandalMotors Hall. There was still some work to be done to the small meeting rooms off to the side, but the main hall was done. He turned his attention to Aya then, standing there and waiting"Oya Aya. I trust I've not left you waiting long..."

Aya waved his question off as she headed over toward him, Tahu silently following in her wake.
-Aya Of course not, I was just admiring the work done here. Shall we exchange pleasantries or are you pressed for time?
In truth she didn't mind either choice. Either she would have additional time to admire the work in progress, or she would get a chance to better know the new Mand'alor. Of course, she understood the need to keep things brief when one had a nation to run.

Damocles noted Tahu, but kept his attention on Aya as he removed his helmet and held it under his arm. It was odd to see that even here, in the heart of the Mandalorian Assembly, that Aya still had her guard. Though, if the rumors were to be believed, there was more between the pair. He motioned to the ledge of the platform for Aya to join him as he sat down "As Mand'alor, I just have to make time... So come and sit with me. Let us talk, we have much to discuss..." Not only was there the issue of Beskar mining to discuss, but there was the matter of Clan D'Ordinii feeling insulted. The latter wasn't an issue he was too concerned about. But he had no doubt something would come up about it

Aya lounged out on the stone ledge next to him. Tahu, being aware that she was likely casting shade over the meeting retreated a few steps to the side & up a few levels. It would allow her a pretense of being out of the conversation, while still being able to keep watch.
-Aya I will admit to knowing very little about you. Which is fairly rare ground for me. Of course, there have been rumors, but you have done impressively well with keeping things under wraps until you were ready. It speaks highly of you in several regards. Of course, my intel people are already running around like a kicked ant hive now. But it is still too soon for anything solid.
The tilt of her head & tone of voice made it clear she was serious. But that it wasn't a threat, just a simple fact of how the Imperium operated. her next line was obviously teasing though.
-Aya Any secret lovers you want left off the official records?

In truth, there was no real great secret to him. It was no surprise that she knew little, if anything about him. About the most any extensive search would show, was that he was a master bladesmith. He had lived in relative obscurity otherwise. Living a fairly normal life on Ordo until his vision from Kad "I would tell you not to bother, but I doubt that would stop you from committing resources to such an endeavor... Admittedly, keeping things under wraps was almost entirely by sheer chance..." He laughed a little then at her question. He didn't have any official lovers, let alone secret ones "They would not exactly be a secret if I told you about them, now would they? What of yourself? Secret or otherwise..." He leaned back then, supporting himself with his arms. There was still much of Clan D'Ordinii and the Imperium he did not understand. And now would be a good time to begin understanding "I hear the aruetiise call you Imperator? And that you rule some Infinite Imperium? I would say I have intel people working on learning of such a thing... But I am not one to lie..."

Her head tilts ever so slightly back, in the direction of Tahu.
-Aya No official lovers I am afraid.
It would seem that most of the pleasantries would consist of general intel sharing. Of course, that was what most small talk was.
-Aya That is my official title in the Imperium, yes. I am the closest thing to a head of state in the Imperium, but in truth it would be more accurate to call me a glorified accountant. I do occasionally form treaties in the stead of all the various colonies, but only rarely. Mostly they are left to their own devices. It helps to present a unified front.
A small, worn coin had appeared in her hands as she talked & she toyed with it. Mostly walking it across her knuckles.
-Aya It might be a good idea to invest in an intel group of your own. They can be surprisingly helpful.

No official lovers. But that did not exclude unofficial lovers. He noted the slight head tilt, but said nothing of it. He was more curious to hear Aya's explanation on her role as the Imperator of the II. He had guessed much of how they operated, but her own explanation cemented his ideas. His rise to Mand'alor had certainly come at the right time then. Had he waited, it was very likely the II would have expanded to control all of the Clans "Almost a Mand'alor in all but name then..." An observation, nothing more. He watched her toy with the coin out of the corner of his eye, as she suggested he get his own intel group "Perhaps... Maybe one of the Clan's will be kind enough to lend their aide to such an effort..." He suspected someone would be up for keeping the MA updated on what was happening around the galaxy. Already some of the Clans were specializing in contributing aspects to the benefit of all. Which brought him to the main reason he was here. There was certainly more to be learned of the II, but it was best to not get entrapped by too much small talk "But, I think it is time to turn towards the reason I asked you here...Primarily, it is to discuss the Beskar mining rights... As I understand it, there was some deal made with the Mandalorian Empire?"

She gave a short nod, it wasn't entirely accurate, but it was close enough.
-Aya More like an economic version of the Mand'alor. I don't have my buir's skill in warfare after all. As for your intel, I might be able to swing something your way. I would have to check with some other people first though.
The issue of Beskar was much more complicated. It took nearly half an hour, with regular questions for clarification for Damocles, to explain it all. She started with the details of the original sale to her father, before jumping ahead to how it transferred to her on his death. Then she went into details about the required terms that had to be upheld to the Mand'alor & the other Aliit'alors, which D'Ordinii had upheld despite the lack of actionable penalties. She spent a good bit of time summarizing how D'Ordinii had dealt with any outsiders that managed to gain access to the metal. Next she delved into the production rates of the mines. The majority went to MandalMotors for secondary sale or other use, but D'Ordinii kept a fair stockpile of its own. This led to a only marginally connected issue about the mining of other ores on planets across the old Mandalorian Empire. Since there hadn't been a Mand'alor in some time, the tithes for the sale price of the ores had been collecting interest in a D'Ordinii owned bank. With nearly fifty years of interest & steady large deposits, the sum was a rather heavy amount. Once back on subject, a few questions from the Mand'alor made it clear he was sounding out regaining control of some beskar. After which Aya summarized the number of untapped veins, inactive mines & active mines that the D'Ordinii owned. She made it clear that buying the untapped veins would be the cheapest, though there were a huge number of mines on the moon that were currently sitting fallow.
-Aya That is about the sum of it. If you are really serious about buying a large number of mines, Concordia would be the best bet. D'Ordinii isn't using it right now. There are already mines opened there, though they will likely need a little work to get them ready for use again. Lastly, I might be able to swing you a bulk rate well below the price we usual set for veins.

An economic version of the Mand'alor was certainly a way of describing it without admitting it. By her own admission, she might not have much skill for outright warfare. But She certainly had a way for political warfare. His interest was piqued briefly as she suggested that Clan D'Ordinii might be able to offer their services for the Assembly's intelligence gathering. It was an interesting proposition, and one he would consider.
Damocles kept his whole attention then as Aya delved into the Beskar. During which she confirmed his suspicion that some former Mand'alor of the ME had sold the mining rights of the Beskar to Clan D'Ordinii in perpetuity. When he died and passed into the Manda, he would hunt down which ever fool did it and throttle them. For now though, his attention was maintained on the issue at hand. There was a lot of information to process, but Damocles kept up with it all. Forming his own plan of action, as he interjected questions.
While he did not fully trust Clan D'Ordinii, or the Infinite Imperium, or what ever they wanted to call themselves, it seemed like there was few options remaining to him. He could, as Mand'alor, decide to scrap the entire former deal and decide to not recognise D'Odinii's control of the mines. But that would only start a Civil War, and the MA was not equipped for that. Not yet anyway. Perhaps one day in the future they would be. For now, he would have to play nice.
The other advantage to come of this, was that the ME had accrued a great deal of monetary assets that he could collect on. Half of that could well go towards his Concordia project, the rest could then be funnelled into other projects and any Clans that needed the monetary aide.
As the ancient saying went, keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. Reaffirming this deal would achieve that, along with some new provisions to ensure that other Clans were aware of the ability to purchase mines. Though, his Concordia project meant that they wouldn't necessarily have to fork out the credits to Clan D'Ordinii to do so "Well, That is perfect then. I have designs for Concordia's resettlement, so controlling the mines there would work perfectly... What ever the price, you can use half of what is owed to Mand'alor to cover as much of the cost as it can. What ever is left, we can settle between the tithes owed to the Helm and the exports Concordia will produce... By which I mean that I intend to uphold the agreement. But I ask that you encourage MandalMine to hire some more members from other Clans, to provide them an avenue of income. And that each Clan is made aware of their ability to purchase mines of their own, if they so choose... I trust that is agreeable?"

-Aya Would you prefer the finances listed for the buying the moon mines be set up for an even application? Or focused on outright purchase of as many mines & veins as possible? Each has its benefits.
The first option would result in less general output, but would be paid off quicker in total due to the required payment tithes. The second would have more mines able to output wealth for any use, either for helping to buy off the remaining mines or to divert to other tasks.
-Aya Traditionally, MandalMine hires only in house. It is one of the ways I help to personally support my Clan. However, I can look to see what I can do about possibly creating a number of temp work positions in the company, or even perhaps opening up a few new mines of our own. As for purchase of veins or mines, we have always been open about it, but few have shown both the interest & the financial clout. Perhaps with your efforts that might change.

NCO stopped outside the MandalMotors Hall... He could have sworn he'd set the HUD's way point as the 'baat. But he was here instead... He did a quick check, and nodded as understanding dawned, the meeting had been made a formal one then, ah oh well. The slightly scorched armor would have to suffice, the HALO had been fun, and he hadn't had fun like that in years. NCO walked inside, and found the interior left much to be desired, though he spotted Aya and Damocles fast enough, a moment's more searching revealed that Aya had not come alone. That was wise, though probably not necessary here, then again Aya had always been better with number than hard soldiering so perhaps it wasn't out of place. NCO shrugged, his own escort was likely on it's way down now, he might have been less than clear about and moved into the hall, letting the heavy door slam shut and announce his arrival with an echoing thud. Echos were fun, and though his boots were not heavy enough to cause their own echoes, they did stride rhythmically through the entryway and over towards his sister and mand'alor.
Su'cuy Mand'alor the Architect, Aliit'alor D'ordinii. I hope I haven't kept you waiting, the fleet is in position as requested.
I stop, a few paces short of the pair and remove my buy'ce; letting my leathery ears fall behind me. I stretch my eye stalks briefly before focusing one eye on each of the beings before me. Being a Gung doesn't have many perks, but buir taught me to make the most of everything I have and am.

As Aya asked what option he prefered finance wise, he took a moment to consider them both. As she mentioned, there was advantages to both options. The end result would be the same, but at different costs. The first would grant them access to more mines from the get go, while the second would require them to plan out the expansion a bit more closely. It was a close decision, but there were other factors that needed to be taken into account which helped make it easy "List them evenly. The mines and output of the moon will cover the difference quickly enough..." It also meant that he could more easily hand out mining rights to some of the veins to some of the other Clans. While Clan D'Ordinii's model had some merit for them, Damocles differed in his opinion as to its effectiveness. The high price for purchasing the mines, meant that none of the other Clans could afford to buy any of the mines or veins, not easily anyway. Thus allowing D'Ordinii a total monopoly on the business. Under usual circumstances, that would not be an issue. But there was nothing usual about what faced the Mandalorian Assembly. And he still had his reservations about where the Clan's allegiance truly lay "I can understand the stance, and I appreciate any effort you and MandalMine make to provide opportunities for members of other aliit to work within your existing structure. It is a small, but hopefully useful step, towards us all working together for the betterment of anade..." His attention turned towards one of the entrances then, as the tall figure strode through one of the doors into the Hall. He hadn't been expecting any visitors or guests. So they were either uninvited, which would not be unusual, or Aya had asked them to be here. As the figure drew closer, and Damocles was able to make out the D'Ordinii/Infinite Imperium insignia, he suspected it was the latter case. A feeling cemented by the Gungan's mention of the fleet positioned in orbit "Su'cuy ner'vod..."

-Aya Oya Non. The shake down cruise is going well? No major issues with the ships yet?
His arrival would serve as a good way to segment into a discussion she was planning on having with the Mand'alor. It was time for the clans to be able to defend themselves again.
-Aya You are probably aware of a small fleet of Imperium ships in orbit over our heads right this moment. Outwardly, they are based on the ancient mandalorian designs, but I guarantee that they are every centimeter the modern warships. They are now under your direct command. For the time being they will remain linked to & run by the Imperium, as our tech doesn't play nice with standard tech. We are working on implementing a translation protocol to work around that. I am appointing the commander of the fleet, a Rakata by the name of Auxitius, that he will be assigned to you as a liaison. I think you might like him. His rank in the Imperium is Officer 7, or Praetor, which puts him on par with sector commanders. He is rather outspoken in a number of areas that go against standard Imperium practice, but his skills more than counter that. It helps that he is professional enough to not let it effect his work.
That hadn't been the original plan for the fleet. The original plan had been a rather standard shake down cruise to make sure the ships were in good order & then a rather bland but good for PR posting in the system as a defense against any that might try to invade.

None at all, everything is in good working order. The Drones are functioning particularly well, exceeding their expected return per captia investment by 3 percent. You'll like the old Rakata, he's no worse than Kaine in a particularly grumpy mood.
NCO addressed them both in turn, noting the Mand'alor wariness at his arrival and recognition. Hmm, perhaps this wasn't the home he remembered after all. No matter, Aya was here to talk, so NCO wouldn't meddle. He'd like to get clearer picture of what exactly Mand'alor the Architect saw in the II, but that could be ascertained at a later date. For now NCO was careful to keep his hands within the man's line of sight, it was a small gesture and moot one. Still, NCO tried to help the man relax. Though part of him really wanted to tell the Mand'alor to take a chill pill, if he was wanted dead or alive by the II he'd know by now. Now that's a nifty idea... hmmm, NCO grinned to himself, and made a mental note.
The task force is in place and ready for orders. They were originally to be tasked with defense of this sector, but now they are yours to command Architect. Try not to fly them into the sun all at once, okay? Aya, it might be best to let him manage his own replenishment as well. It'd only save us a few small creds on the whole of it, but it'd give the vode here a sense of satisfaction, sustaining themselves as they once did. Who would I be speaking with to iron that out?

Non. So that was the gungans name. Any perceived weariness was most likely from a lack of knowing who exactly had just arrived. The Mandalorians were plenty and he was only just starting to meet them all. He had, after all, arrived without a guard to this meeting. He had no concerns about the possibility of being killed here. It would purely serve to prove his concerns over the Imperiums trustworthiness if they did kill him. As Aya spoke of the fleet, it seemed she had similar ideas to his own about segueing into a discussion about the fleet in orbit. Though, he had not expected her to offer him command of the fleet. It was quite a gift. Perhaps it was meant as an outreach of cooperation between the two sides "It is quite the gift, and one I shall put to good use in the defence of Mandalore and her territories..." He turned toward NCO then, as the Gungan made his comments "I'll be sure to try stay my hand from running them into the same sun... As for replenishments, I will have Escalus work with you on the matter. And once the translation protocol is enacted, I will find Mando's ready and willing to crew as many of the vessels as possible..." He turned his attention back to Aya then. There was still one final point to discuss regarding the fleet "I must say, I did intend to speak with you about the fleet. But for an entirely different reason... MandalMotors is undertaking works to expand the shipyard facilities they have. In hopes of better being able to equip the Clans with new ships. To that end, and as Chairman of the Board, MandalMotors would like to make an offer on the updated plans the Imperium is using to construct these vessels..."
