Aya thought about the request. It was a sensible request. Unfortunately, the ship designs in production by the Imperium relied too heavily on the tech base & infrastructure of the Imperium to function well outside its borders for long. There would be a few ways it could be worked around though & Aya would love to see the cooperation that would be required in either case.
-Aya It would be possible, but again it wouldn't be as simple as handing over the plans. As with the fleet now under your command, the ship designs in use by the Imperium make heavy use of technology that requires the ongoing support & interaction with the Imperium infrastructure to function correctly. We can provide a more common galactic tech equivalent to serve as a starting point for your own upgrades or even as a finished product if you want. But that will take a little bit of time. Until then, I will see about providing you with some of the older designs that were previously used by the D'Ordinii
The main issue with the older designs wasn't a lack of ability, instead it was the conflicts in the origin designs. The designs would provide a balanced fleet for anyone that was interested in that sort of thing. The problem was that each ship had few if any parts in common with the others. Which meant that anyone that wanted to build the ships would end up having to produce roughly a dozen slightly different versions of each part. The designs used currently by the Imperium had corrected that problem, but they also had built in a number of secondary techs that were not compatible with current Mandalorian tech. At least not yet.

NCO made a note to look the man up later. For now he stood ready to assist either his aliit'alor or mand'alor in anyway he could. He let the heads do the talking, he was just happy to get to meet the helm this time. Sure he'd seen the last helm, but so had everyone else. And then the war had started and the whole galaxy got to see it. Those had been fun days, ill conceived fun to be sure, but fun no less. The fleet would tend to itself until orders were given. So he ran a small diagnostic program in his HUD, that did a subsonic sounding of the wall in front of him. The data scrolling in front of him detailed the material used, the relative age of the material since being produced, and the general strength of the structure. As it continued to run, and expand it's area of sampling, he was able to identify loads, stress points, and decorative walls and columns. It was a surprisingly useful little program, with a wide variety of applications. Usually is was used to gauge the charge necessary for rapid entry, assuming a few well placed sonic rounds wouldn't do the trick. But today, he was just curious, and blatantly aware that his part of the conversation was effectively over. He toyed with idea of showing off the pack, with some fancy maneuvers around the hall, but decided that would be in poor taste.

Damocles had not been too surprised by Aya's response. He had heard stories about how paranoid Clan D'Ordinii was about people using their technologies. In any case, it seemed there would already be designs available, that even MandalMotors could work from. Even if they only ended up serving merely as a start point, it was better than nothing, or trying to work off of the much older designs. And if Aya was true to her word, then D'Ordinii would work on plans that could be more universally manufactured and used by the rest of the Mandalorian Assembly "If you can work on something that can serve as a finished product, it will certainly ease the burden on the designers at MandalMotors and allow us to get new ships produced much faster and efficiently. But for the time being, the older designs will suffice as a good start along this road. We can at least sort through them to work out the best design to use as a mass production variant until the updated designs are finished. In exchange, MandalMotors will provide the tools and resources required to modify any existing shipyards Clan D'Ordinii controls, so that they might better produce the Mandalorian Ship Designs. Is that agreeable to you Aliit'alor?"

-Aya It is indeed. The shipyards at Lehon have long since fallen into a completely unacceptable state of disrepair. Our unfortunate lack of experienced dock hands has prevented us from returning them to a more acceptable state on our own. & that in turn has prevented us from fielding the number of large hull that are truly required to maintain our current holdings.
In truth the Imperium relied far too heavily on the Socii system shipyards at Bonadan for all but the lightest hulls. The mobile shipyards did what they could to repair & maintain the ships that were already in service, but they simply weren't sufficient for any kind of systematic building program. The crews on them would be vital as the heart of the Lehon shipyard work force once it was up & running. Unfortunately, they didn't have the technical experience to direct the reconstruction of damaged & destroyed portions of the Lehon Yards. Being forced to rely on a shipyard that was run & under the control of a population that only grudgingly acknowledged the rule of the Imperium was a situation that was very high on Aya's list of potential problems to correct as soon as possible.

NCO was all to aware of how dilapidated the shipyards over Lehon were. He'd been forced to rely on Chiss engineers for new hulls and serious repairs that the mobile yards couldn't deal with on their own, while working to secure the II's borders in the Unknown Regions. It had been... interesting at first, trying to worm his way into gaining access to the chiss shipyards. But the process of sending the damaged ships back to the known regions was just too strenuous on the logistics side of things to be worthwhile. It was actually cheaper to just buy new hulls for a time, even though that did little to mitigate the already limited supply. He finally managed to wrangle a short term contract that had served it's purpose quite well, before expiring and leaving him on his back leg again. Several such short term contracts were won over his years of service, but none lasted longer than a campaign, and all had expired years prior to the FO expansion in that region. Those left to guard the borders when NC had returned to the known regions were forced to rely on improvisation and the long supply line that rarely had all the needed supplies. They were able to scrounge from lost II stockpiles occasionally and that helped immensely, but those were difficult to find, and often in poor condition.
He held his tongue, only figuratively, and waited while his sister worked the simplified process of negotiation and diplomacy. Something he had just enough skill in to keep from embarrassing the Aliit at formal functions with Aruetiise. His skill set was much closer to their Buir's but still very unique. He preferred more immediate and permanent results than talks and treaties generally offered his problems, though he was willing to wait for months on end if it would better his position in the conflict.

And with that, the deal had been made. While Damocles still did not fully trust Aya, she was thus far staying in line. And for the time being, that would just have to be enough. MandalMotors would get access to the resources it needed, allowing the MA to field new and improved vessels. Clan D'Ordinii would get some shipyard upgrades, so they could better refit and repair their own vessels and bolster their own navy. Provided Aya held true to her word, their forces would also bolster the MA as a whole "Well, perhaps this deal will help towards that end. Speaking of ends, I believe that brings this meeting to one. Thank you for taking the time to meet with me. I must be off, there is much to be done, to ensure this fledgling Assembly grows strong once more..."

Post Visit of the Yuuzhan VongDamocles was clad in his usual black armour as he strode into the MandalMotors Hall. Stopping atop the platform set aside for the Mand'alor to oversee meetings of the Aliit'alor. His Khopesh blades were all sheathed in their proper places. And Damocles hoped they would remain there, as he stood waiting. Kaine Australis had sent him a rather... colourful message following the recent visit by the Yuuzhan Vong. He had heard stories of the man's service during the Yuuzhan Vong Invasions. Something which had instilled the Aliit'alor with a deep seated hatred of the extragalactic invaders.
Damocles suspected this conversation with Kaine would not end in the pair simply sharing a drink of Tihaar and putting aside their differences. The Aliit'alor of Australis had quite the past with the Mandalorians

MandalMotors Hall, Keldabe Some time after the battle with the Yuuzhan Vong
Some things couldn't be said over a comm. Not at this level. Kaine had been incensed at the recent events involving a Yuuzhan Vong incursion into the Mandalore system. He'd expressed his displeasure to Mand'alor Damocles over a message, but then had decided it was best continued face to face. The other vode needed to hear this.
Kaine entered the hall in his regular getup, flanked by a horde of Australis, only a few of his senior commandos, the rest either fleet or militia on leave, here to see the proceedings. Kaine himself walked up alone to the front of the platform as his people wandered off and found their own entertainments and refreshments in the small but growing crowd of vode.
The Australis aliit alor had taken the liberty of advertising this meeting publicly, and organizing for several vode to have cameras and microphones present to record events. He meant for this to be seen. Peace with the Vongese was a step too far to Kaine.
Kaine looked up to where Damocles stood above the gathering throng of Mando'ade. Kaine pointed a finger directly up at the Mand'alor and boomed at him.
Damocles. You've got some explaining to do.

Aya herself couldn't travel back & forth over nearly the entire breadth of the galaxy anytime a meeting happened on Mandalore. The nature of Mandalorian politics, such as they were, rarely afforded her that much time in forewarning. Even if she had no other commitments to deal with back in her own little empire. To that end, she had installed a small diplomatic party that would be on hand to deal with the various issues & keep her up to date.
Each of the four had been hand selected from a pool of Citizens that Aya personally knew & trusted. While their technical roles in the Imperium were deserve, they were each highly ranked & regarded in whatever field they had been involved in previously. There were very few career diplomats in the Imperium. For the most part they were all low level functionaries, more suited to cutting deals with individual worlds or small factions.
The group was made up of four members: two Rakata; one Genie; & a Mech. The first Rakata was Labrax Aurelius. He was a former technician with a flair for thinking outside the box & fusing technological odds & ends into strange new devices. The other was Manlia Pilatus. Her field of expertise was medicine, though she specialized in ecological repair using short lived bio-engineered organisms. The Genie went by Rozi. He was actually a former front-line soldier, passing up reassignments several times to remain in the field. At least until offered this role by the Imperator. The Mech was called 21-35-28. Before coming here, he had made the majority of his credits making & selling his artwork. A passion he still managed to do on the side. The rotation was set up so that each six hours, one person would leave, to be replaced by the next. This meant that at any given time, two people were on duty in the hall. At the moment that was Manlia & 21-35-28.
For now, they were content to just watch.

Damocles folded his arms across his chest as more and more Vode filed into the Hall. Kaine had decided to make this into something of a spectacle it seemed. Several Clans had already sent representatives in their Aliit'alors stead. His gaze briefly crossing over different groups, before settling upon Kaine Australis. The man heading up a large group of his fellow Clans men. His guards formed a V formation behind him, their stances neutral as Kaine shouted above the crowd.
He removed his helmet then, handing it to Escalus. His brother taking the item for safe keeping as Damocles looked down at Kaine. His hand moving in a subtle gesture to call quiet across the bustling mass of Mand'ade. He took a moment to prepare himself for what was to come. He knew enough about Kaine to know that this was not about to be a pleasant and civil conversation. But there was no point trying to hold this off any longer "Hello to you as well Kaine... So what exactly is it, that I've got some explaining to do about?"

The Hall had started to fill up. Clan Australis made up only a tiny fraction of the crowd, mostly civilian types, but nearly every Mando clan had at least one representative in the growing throng inside the MandalMotors Hall. Kaine had wanted Mando attention, which was why he'd organized for the HoloNet broadcast, so that mandos who wanted to speak could turn up and say their piece, and those that didn't could watch, wherever in the galaxy they were.
Kaine stood alone among the crowd below the stage, where Damocles stood, meeting his gaze. No guards, no retainers, no backup or supporters, just his own shebs.
You know stanging well what I want you to explain, unless you've forgotten how to read.
I want to know why you think we'd want to follow a vong lover. Peace with the vong? You might as well make nice with a Krakana. Sooner or later it's going to turn around and bite you. Several good decent Mando'ade paid that price already, out there.
I held my tongue there for your sake, because there were aruetiise present. This is mando business. The Mandos are listening. Go on. Explain why you want Mando'ade to bend down and suck the crab boys Kaine paused, he noticed several children present. toes for them.

Damocles let out a sigh as he placed his hand on his hips. Listening to Kaine’s rant. Thankfully with fewer expletives than what filled the message he had gotten. He shook his head, his gaze dropping to the ground a moment as he gathered his thoughts. Certain that he had not actually called for outright peace with the Yuuzhan Vong. He looked back to Kaine ”I’m sorry, but it was rather difficult to form a legible sentence after discarding the million and one expletives you filled that message with... But as for the matter at hand... You have mistaken restraint for peace. Something that I never once offered to the Yuuzhan Vong. I merely allowed them to leave Mandalore without further harassment... If I’m not mistaken, it was by your orders, that Mando’ade paid the price this time. Many of our vode have been cut down in recent wars. I was not about to add to that number... Especially not when we are on the verge of rebuilding much needed fleets and armies. Things we need if we ever intend to defend ourselves...” He glanced over at the children then, before looking back at Kaine ”Blood begets blood. What would you have had me do? Commit our nonexistent resources to a war against an enemy of unknown strength and size? You and I both know, that you would have demanded that entire ship die for the handful of fighters you lost. Then the Yuuzhan Vong would have destroyed a capital ship for their scout ship. And the cycle would continue. Each side wanting higher and higher recompense for their loses. With us having the disadvantage of far fewer known resources... With each passing day that the Yuuzhan Vong have not returned, the Mando’ade have continued to grow stronger... All because I acted rationally...”

Kaine laughed aloud. Allowed them to leave without further harrassment. That was nice of you.
Perhaps you've forgotten the last time they visited us. You can still see the scars if you go far enough outside Keldabe. On the way there, note the bones of the millions of vode buried to stop those chakaare from killing every last one of us.
We don't have to take on the entire galaxy, even if we could. The Vongese, though, the Bothans have the right of it. We still owe the Vongese.
We owe them for Manda'yaim, for then, and we owe them for now. It'll never be over between us and the Vong, so long as a single one of them roams free in our Galaxy.
Ar'krai was the bothan word Kaine couldn't remember, but referred to any way. A level above war, total, armageddon, kill or be killed. Only one could live at the end. The GA had had, and continued to have, issues with the Bothan Ar'krai.
Kaine clenched a fist for emphasis. We find them, we find anyone helping them, the Hutts, whoever else, and we destroy them.
You want to keep Manda'yam safe strong and whole, you destroy the imminent threat, and send a message to anyone else about what happens when you mess with Mandalore. That's what I would have you do. Get off your shebs and fight. We've got strength enough to do that much.
You ask me, I don't think you're capable of fighting. There was the offer, unspoken. Kaine let it hang. Every mando listening would hear it.

Damocles had seen the many graves of those who laid bare their lives to fight against the Vong. He had also seen the graves of those who had laid their lives down for similar causes against the Jedi and Sith time and again. He was not about to needlessly add to their numbers. Especially not because Kaine had already long embarked upon the road Damocles has tried to keep them all from straying down. Not that it surprised him. Kaine seemed the type to always want to seek out wherever fight there was to have ”I have seen the graves of those who laid their lives down for many past Mand’alors, yours amongst them. I honour their sacrifice, so that we can be here today. But unlike my predecessors, I’m not about to run off half cocked to start another crusade. If the aliit’alor wanted another Ashrah, I would not be holding the Helm today... If you want a fight, then prove that these Yuuzhan Vong are as imminent a threat as you suggest. Find where they are hiding. If they are still as dangerous as you say, then we will fight them...” Damocles stared Kaine down. He was not about to just open the door and invite the challenge he knew Kaine sought. If the man wanted to try reclaim the leadership he once gave up, then he would have to make his intentions abundantly clear

Kaine smiled. Damocles had, as predicted, fallen right into his trap. It always came back to Ashrah for some vode, the ones like Damocles, who only saw things in black and white.
I didn't hear anyone call for a crusade. Those who followed Ashrah bear as much responsibility as he for that damnfool idealistic crusade.
Whether the Vongese are a threat anymore or not, we owe them, and they'll get theirs in time. One day.
Your response to the issue is typical, it's just more talk from you, talk and plans. Get others to do the thinking and the fighting.
The Architect sits, and he dithers, and nothing happens.
Kaine spread his hands, expansively.
Mandalore's rebuilt. The vode need jobs, a purpose, we need to do more than just exist. We need a fight.
If you're not prepared to lead, then step aside and make way for a vod who has proven he can. I led no crusades, but we won every battle we fought under my leadership. Several more than you, if i'm not mistaken. You've led us almost as long as I did.
Your list of accomplishments is short and free of distinction, Damocles. The vode deserve better. If that means me, then so be it.
There was no mistaking it now. Damocles could pick up the gauntlet, or walk away. Time to prove his leadership the old way.

Damocles leaned his head forward slight, rubbing his forehead with his thumb and fore finger. It was like trying to deal with a petulant child. Kaine was so set and fixated on his ways, that trying to steer him from them was an impossible task. He levelled his gaze upon the man once more. He let out a sigh when Kaine finally stopped talking "When I don't immediately bomb the Yuuzhan Vong, I'm weak. When I offer to send you and Clan Australis as a vanguard scouting force, to better determine what we are up against while we get the rest of the fleets built, you still claim I am weak. I was not aware it would take the entire Mandalorian Aseembly to do so simple a task as what I have asked of you..." Damocles turned to his left and retrieved the Helm of Mandalore from Ascalon, before turning back to face Kaine. Holding the coveted item aloft "You claim I sit and dither and nothing happens and that my list of accomplishments is short and free of distinction. But yet, I managed to reclaim the Mask, unite the Clan's once more, and have helped architect the rebuilding of Mandalore... I'm no expert, but that certainly sounds like quite the list, considering I've held the title of Mand'alor for less than a half dozen months..." Damocles looked down at the Helm. His attention lingering upon it as he thought back upon all he had achieved so far, and the promise he had made when he had proclaimed himself Mand'alor. It had been quite the road so far. But it seemed like this was to be the end of it. At least for now "I'm just glad that you have at last made your intention clear... If you feel I am so unworthy and wish to reclaim the title you once gave up..." Damocles tossed the mask towards Kaine. Either for the man to catch it should he act fast enough or fall at his feet "Then take it! I promised to show the Mandalorians a new era and prove myself worthy through my actions in such an endeavour. But clearly you still hunger for the old ways... So be it. Stake your claim and let it be over with. I will not challenge you. I did what I set out to achieve..." Damocles knew full well what Kaine wanted. In fact, he suspected the Clan Leader of Australis had tried to plan everything out to one single conclusion. But he had no intention of humouring Kaine. If the man wanted the Helm back so badly, then so be it.
Damocles took a couple steps back from the edge of the platform then. Turning around to retrieve his helmet from Escalus, before leading his guards out of the Hall. Better to live today and continue the work he had been doing on Concordia. Than to foolishly lose his life in a duel with Kaine. At least living, he could help his Vode rebuild

Well, there it was. The desired outcome. Kaine had never desired to lead the Mandalorians again, despite what Damocles might have thought. He also had no wish to die, nor to kill his vod, a man he respected, despite his issues with the man's leadership style. They were still brothers. Now, it seemed to Kaine that it was as well to be done with the issue for a while. Mandalorians didn't need a leader except during war, and there was no war. Knowing what he had to do, Kaine got on with it.Kaine watched Damocles and his guards leave. He bent and picked up the Helm that he'd once had the honour of holding, the helm he'd picked up after Reyn Skirata; te Goran, had laid down the burden. Kaine looked at it for a moment, then called to one of his ori'rami'kade.Vevut. Give me your gun. The commando tossed Kaine aSonic Disruptor, which the old General caught. Kaine thumbed it to its maximum setting, and then tossed the Helm of Mandalore to the ground. He paused and looked into the nearest holocam, which was going out live across the galaxy. For Mandalore. Kaine fired, disintegrating the symbol of Mandalorian leadership to a pile of drifting ash. He tossed the disruptor back to Vevut and looked around the room at the shocked Mando'ad faces. Now, we're all shabla Mand'alor. Don't wait for anyone to tell you what to do, go out and do it. Follow the resol'nare, do what you have to, and if war comes, we'll pick a leader then.Kaine left the Mandalorians packing the great hall to their discussions, and left the cameras, and the noise, and headed out into the Keldabe night, ignoring the shouted questions and calls for him from members of the crowd. Once outside he took a deep breath of Keldabe night air.Now we can get on with things.

That was not what the crowd had been expecting. After a moment of silence 21-35-28 stood to address both those present & those watching from afar.
-21-35-28 Alor Australis. You seem to have some confusion. You think that scrap of metal you just destroyed was what makes a Mandalorian the Mand'alor. While it does ... Did has historic value, that is not what makes it the mark of the Mand'alor. Respect. Recognition. That is what makes a Mandalorian the Mand'alor.
The mechanical being paused for a moment for his words to sink into the older vode's skull.
-21-35-28 There is currently no great love between House D'Ordinii & the current Mand'alor. But if you think smashing a small bauble makes him any less the Mand'alor, you fool only yourself.
Turning to resume his seat, the droid paused to impart one last remark.
-21-35-28 Oh, one more thing. I might not be the best fighter, but insult the Mand'alor once more & I will strangle you with your own guts.

A major meeting of the clans had been called. With the disappearance of Mandalore Damocles after the ... challenge by the now decried head of Clan Australis, the representatives from the Imperium had asked the other clans to attempt to reach an agreement. All four of the D'Ordinii representatives were on hand at the moment, as it would likely be a rather important event.
Of course, since they had called the meeting in the first place, it was also on them to provide both direction & refreshments for the meeting. The direction would hopefully be simple enough. As for the refreshments, those had been outsourced to the nearby 'Baat. Heavy tables groaned under the weight of the various food & drink hazardously piled up on them. Nothing got mandos talking like freely flowing food & drink.

*Ellie walked the edge of the hall, taking in all the sights and sounds. She had been here once before with her father and sister, but that was years ago. Now the hall seemed almost empty, a shell of a legacy. That was going to change though, she could feel it.*
*She could scarcely believe that she was here. Fourteen years it had been since she set foot on Mandalore, but now she had to represent her clan. That was a heavy burden to carry. She caught her reflection in a window and paused for a moment. A thin scar ran down her left eye, leaving a grey streak in the blue iris. Her slimmed down black and yellow besker'gam was scarred, scraped and worn. Ellies left arm was adorned with a krayt dragon tattoo starting from her wrist to her elbow. Two heavy blaster pistols hung loosely on her hip. She was young, but she looked as if she survived countless battles.*
*Ellie caught Torin's nod to her. Instinctively, she returned the gesture with her own nod. For some reason it made her feel out of place. The leaders gathering here seemed wiser, more experienced. Removing herself from her pacing, she made her way over and sat near the man. If she was going to learn, it might as well.be from someone more experienced then her.*
