I didnt mean to call you guys out, if it came out like it. It was just the idea I had at first. You're quite fine Standash. Speaking as co-strategist with Adi, both leadership and crew are definitely up for it. I know we have to finish up the Naboo RP, and then briefly do a side RP to pickup Galdaart Fel first, but both should be written up in short order (as far as JvS goes). I think the idea resonates with us, and the anti-FO SLs that we've been writing. We'd need to meet with a member of the GA, probably you Standash (as it was your idea), to establish some trust IC. We're not exactly on the best of terms politically. Beyond that, the GA would have to provide fighters, maybe a corvette or two, for us to to carry out the operation. The specifics of that can be hashed out at a later date OOC and IC. Suffice to say we're on board, and we love the idea.

Just a bit of a heads up; you’ve got a Spec Ops division that will soon be created.

Of course, the best way to expand GA Naval power is for the pacifists and politicians to sponsor fleets. For example, Standaash could sponsor a fleet to be commissioned and placed under, say one of Victor's NPCs or under Victor. It effectively doubles the navy while keeping the non naval chars out of the navy.
The same idea works for the army.

The new regulations will make that easier.

If the new regulations go through, Aderon. After all, its open for discussion, not near an approved status.
For that to happen, we would need a Whill to approve it.

Well folks, the Treaty of Manaan has officially been signed: boards.jedivsith.com/post/109024/threadThis brings to an end, the Third Galactic Civil War. However, this is not the end for everything. It is merely a stepping stone toward the next phase of this conflict. More details on this will be coming soon, so keep an eye out for it. But the main gist of it, is that we are constantly working to refine and improve the way that we run this conflict. The past two years have been a good learning experience as to what works and does not work on JvS and how we can come up with some guidelines people can use for their RPs. And before you start worrying that we are going to start micromanaging your RP, fear not. That could not be further from the truth. In fact, the point of the guide, will be to use as a rough outline of what has happened, what is happening, how to deal with people disappearing, suggestions for keeping SLs small so we don't get situations like Taris, Dantooine, etc happening again. Ideally, the plan is that everyone will feel more comfortable coming up with (proper) raid style RPs. The aim is, that a handful of writers will go somewhere and hit a target (maybe it's a train, warehouse, temple, etc) and be able to have fun without everything stalling, while still having an impact on the greater SL. To that end, we might also get a small project started to chronicle the events that have taken place within the war up to this point, and kept fairly up to date, so people can have a reference for what has happened and what is happening. (no promises on this though) On a more personal note, with the Treaty of Manaan signed, I am officially announcing the retirement of this account as a leader of the Galactic Alliance. I have already had a chat with the other lead writers of the GA and have come up with adding Standash Thul and @runs to the Galactic Alliance leadership. They will be taking on the Political and Military Triumvir roles respectively IC (the leaders will still remain NPCs, but their writers will be stepping up to write them as oppose to me NPCing them myself). They will also be stepping up OOC as well, and have already started working on ideas and stuff for the Galactic Alliance going forward. For those wondering, I will still be around as Jedi Master Rawkill, with Victor being turned into an NPC on that account. As a side note, myself and Aerandir Calmcacil will still be handling the Jedi Triumvir, while Aer will be the lead on the Jedi as the Grand Master. Thank you All for Everything. And I look forward to seeing this project continue on. Keep on strong and don't just give up on the GA

Why would the Naboo agree to a peace treaty? Especially one negotiated behind our backs?

Because Naboo is a neutral system and your opinion was not considered?
but like they've been fond of saying... they dont really mean it. (the treaty that is)

While you are technically correct, as Naboo never officially joined the GA, everyone has been assuming for months that Naboo is a part of the GA, and I have been happy to roll with that because the only reason we didn't join was that I was not around. If the Galactic Alliance wants to change that status now and pretend that the attack on Naboo is not their problem, then that's just sad. But I don't think anyone is saying that.

Well, the Galactic Alliance is run by the Triumvir's whom were entrusted with making such executive decisions (unlike the Republic, where the Senate had to debate, discuss, debate some more, play political shenanigans for five months as senators tried to screw one another over, before finally agreeing to something entirely different). So, technically it wasn't really behind their backs. Naboo signed on to the Galactic Alliance (or at least that was my understanding), meaning they agreed to the Constitution of the Galactic Alliance. That, and it's almost entirely likely that the Triumvir's discussed with the Senate that "hey, we're outnumbered 10 to 1 militarily, if we keep fighting them in an outright war, we are fucked. And we will lose within like 5 months, since our army consists of about half a dozen fleets, while the First Order has twice that number.... plus a Super Star Destroyer" in fact, most of what was discussed here, would have come up and been presented to the Senate to consider. This was not by any means, something that would have been sprung upon the Senate in a surprise "hey, we went to Manaan and signed this peace treaty". It would have been more a: IC discussions were had, some Senators and Military Leaders would have voiced their objections. But given the rather astronomical odds that were presented as being against them in an outright war, it is assumed that while yes, they would be pissed about what happened at Naboo, having a temporary peace would be agreeable. Especially if it meant more worlds wouldn't be subjected to the same horrors as Naboo in the short term. And the GA would have a chance to establish itself for the long term and better defend against such things. The alternative, was that the GA kept throwing more fodder at the FO to gun down and for us to want to avenge and get mad at. Which would make everyone only more eager to throw more fodder at the FO, hoping for a different result, despite the only difference being that we would be more short handed numbers wise. And for the record: No one in the GA is saying Naboo is not our problem. And Vasari, with respect, please don't pass through here and try make such inflammatory remarks (though, I am hopeful that was not your intent). Remember folks, we're all meant to be writers here. And we're already had enough fights caused by misunderstandings.

I don't care how you explain it IC.
I want to know why there was no discussion here (OOC) about it so that people who may have other plans or ideas could weigh in on it. At least as a courtesy, even if you didn't wait for a response.
I also would have expected, as one of the writers personally attacked, you would at least give me a heads up via PM or whatever.

Alright, I think we worked things out. I've been a little too focused on Naboo to remember what the larger plan from weeks/months ago was going to be.

All the same, looks like we owe a bit of an apology... The idea of signing peace talks to create this "Cold War" scenario were something that was in talks for a little while now and were definitely mentioned to a few people in Discord, but it appears there were never any posts made on the boards ahead of time. Other than this, but it was aimed at one person and posted far too late to be of any significance. In retrospect, it does feel pulled out of nowhere and I definitely didn't mean it that way. To be honest I for some reason thought it had been brought up on the boards somewhere. Guess I just assumed someone else took care of it. We never meant to exclude anyone from this treaty/Cold War scenario planning, and we should have taken proper steps to ensure it was widely made aware of ahead of time. So on behalf of everyone involved, I apologize for not making sure we did so in the first place.

Yeah, to be quite honest, we had thought we had posted it before on JvS, but it seems we were wrong. And we apologize for that.
Be aware we never meant to step on anyone's toes here. That's why with the treaty's purpose was not meant to end the conflict period, but rather de-escalate it to a Cold War scenario of low-intensity battles and raids. Simple encounters that can be handled in a 1v1 and 2v2 scenario. The Galactic Alliance was far behind on writers at the time (until Naboo) and, on my side, I felt bad that our opponents were lacking. So we had hoped to use that time period for the GA to catch up.
Plus, war has been going on for close to two years. And I, for one, was getting a little tired of it. Felt I needed a break to focus on other stuff, reforming an Empire and internal stuff. Sorry again for not being more clear on the subject when it came to posting about it on JvS.

I actually was aware of that plan weeks/months ago but I had forgotten all about it since then. I was looking at Naboo as the beginning of something, and not the end of a larger conflict.

Naboo threw all the plans out the window to be honest. We had planned for it before Naboo, then it happened, then all the crap attached to it happened. One problem after another, further delaying everything until we just put our feet and said we need to get this done.

Yeah we neglected the forum, even though we thought we had mentioned it more before. But we will make sure that that doesn't happen again in the future.
