The Jedi Lords

A faction, founded on the principles of the Jedi Lords of the Old Republic, the Jedi Lords are a Light Side aligned group, seeking to banish the darkness of the galaxy and turn chaos into order and peace. Unlike their more peaceful cousins of the Jedi Order, the Jedi Lords are more militant in their actions, utilizing justified force to destroy cults of the Dark Side and free planets from oppressive regimes and instability left by a galaxy lost in a sea of war and turmoil. Despite their militancy, they adhere to the teachings of the Jedi first and foremost, though some among their ranks are nobles above all other identities. These benevolent noblemen and women seek a better galaxy and will fight for safety of its people.

Founded by Lord Everett Stone, after the Battle of Saffia, the Jedi Lords have come to call Serenno their home. The results that led to the breaking of the long siege of Saffia led to a strong front being presented against remnants of a radical force that brought chaos and destruction to this world. This front began the work of eliminating the rebels and bringing unity to Serenno. With the planet secured and united once more, their gaze turns to the stars and the many worlds that seek their help and guidance.

The sect was re-founded, in a ways, by Stone's successor, Lucien Malvern, when the Jedi Lords were relocated to Ossus, taking up a new role and integrating more with the Jedi Order than their previous autonomous unit. Though they have lost their autonomy, they have not lost their purpose. The Lords seek to renew the planet as it once was under the Old Jedi Order; a vibrant utopia and fortified fortress-world that served as a bulwark against the unknowns of the Outer Rim. Though they are still known as the Jedi Lords, the organization took a new identity as the Ossus Jedi, given their new base of operations.

After several years of hard work, and cooperation with the Yuuzhan Vong, Ossus was declared revived by the High Lord Malvern. A paradise restored to the galaxy.

Governance
The Jedi Lords are led by a High Lord, equal to that of a Jedi Master and the administrator of a Jedi Academy, namely the one located on Ossus. This position is elective, the death of any High Lord would lead to an election among their ranks to see who is best suited to replace the predecessor. The High Lord’s election is approved by the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order, indicating the ties with the organization and the subordinate position as Academy administrator and Warden of Ossus. There are several Great Offices that serve as arms when it comes to the governance of both religious and secular matters between the Jedi Lords, the Jedi Order, and Ossus' citizenry. These appointments are made by the High Lord. Along with them are a small council of advisors that deal with the High Lord on a daily basis, advising him on various matters and ensuring wise words are heard.

Nobility
The nobility is the backbone of the society that makes up the Jedi Lords. Based off ancient nobility, and commonly known structures within the galaxy, this hierarchy serves as the basis for the faction. The highest rank is the High Lord, below that is the Duke, followed by Count, and, lastly, the Baron. Unlike other noble societies, the means of rising up the ladder is not barred. All potential beings are granted the title of Banneret (synonymous with that of Knight) when they are sworn into the service of Jedi Lord. They serve as commanders, bodyguards, stewards and such depending upon what their liege needs. Good service and loyalty is rewarded with a grant of land and a greater title with it, such as being made a Baron. And over time, a Baron can be made a Count through great deeds and loyalty. And by this, one may climb the ladder to the great Dukes that dominate the political and military hierarchy of their cause.

The main headquarters of the Jedi Lords, since their relocation from Serenno. The revived Academy and Great Jedi Library are maintained by the newly renamed Ossus Jedi Conclave, while keeping the customs and traditions established as Jedi Lords. As a result, a number of fortified estates and manors have begun to crop up as these light-sided nobles settle down on the planet.
